Read moreA handful of rocksalt does a lot of magic to clean the floor and surfaces . Dissolve a handful of that in water and use that water to clean. You can add some neem / orange peels or lemon peels in some hot water and let it rest. Use that water in a bucket full of water and use that to clean the surfaces naturally.
Hi there. Switching to non toxic cleaning options is something which I have been experimenting with too. My first step was to simply stop getting the harpics/ lizols. I convinced people at home to not use anything - just plain simple water. However yes at times one does want some added cleaning. I add lemongrass oil / citronella oil to mop water for mosquitoes during summers, otherwise its just plain water. Liquid castille soap is a natural ingredient if you can find it. There are some natural brands which I use such as Natuur. Recently I had infestation of cockroaches at home, so I took the services of Herbal George guys. They use herbal mixture to ward off insects. and it was really effective

Seems, lemon juice, baking soda, salt and vinegar are great ingredients! Thanks for asking this question, I shall be moving to the next step in this journey too :)
Its wonderful to know that you want to move to natural cleaning solutions. I use mixture of lemon juice and salt to clean my kitchen utensils and granite shelf of kitchen. I also use lemon to clean my sink. And for floor I can recommend using water prepared from boiling neem leaves in water. I also sometimes use mixture of Neem water and honey to clean my hands.
First of all, congratulations that you are thinking of switching over from toxic commercial cleaners. I mostly use just water. Sometimes I use home made bio enzymes. As Smitha said, rock salt is also a good option. I can answer better if you ask what type of cleaning you are looking for.
