Diabetes mellitus, one of the most common health issues affecting Indians, may look like something to fear. But in truth, just like any other health issue, it is something that you could manage and overcome by following a healthy and natural lifestyle.
What is diabetes?
Diabetes is a situation where your body does not secrete enough insulin to enable the digestion of blood sugar(glucose). Go out in the sun and soak up the sun's rays either in the early hours of the morning or in the evening. Breathe in fresh air( Pranayam would be very beneficial), go out and connect with the earth. Either just walk barefoot, or work in the garden with your hands or just lie down and relax.
Eat fresh raw fruits and vegetables which are grown locally and which are in season. If you could get them organically grown then that would be better. If not fresh local and seasonal too would work equally well. Quit cooked food as long as possible for faster healing. All packaged, processed and complicated foods are a must avoid.
There is no need to fear the sugars from the fruits. They are pre-digested(not in a complex form) and so can be easily assimilated and used by our body.
Walk at least 5 KM's a day. But start slowly. Join a yoga class and do some stretching and exercising daily.
Mental relaxation is very much important. Keep away from toxic people and environment. Practice forgiving and forgetting. Meditate for bringing more peace into your life. The more relaxed you are, faster you would heal.
Sleep at least for 7 to 9 hours. Go to bed early, maximum by 10 pm. Wake up early. Rest during the day too, whenever you feel tired and stressed.

Drink enough water. The best way to hydrate yourself would be by consuming maximum juicy fruits and vegetables.
See to it that you have regular bowel movements. The quantity of matter eliminated should always be more than that which you have consumed.
Keep your digestion up to the mark. Never let it go sluggish.
Keeping diabetes at bay is as simple as that. But what is seen is though it is simple, people find it very tough to follow on their own. And usually during the healing and cleansing process, one may face some healing crises. And that may shake their confidence and they may end up going back to the previous unhealthy lifestyle. So it's always better to get help from a nature cure practitioner and heal your self under their guidance for better results.
