
Pineapple Juice

Craving for something cool and refreshing to quench your thirst on a hot summer day, but prefer to avoid the commonly available canned juices! Well! You are sure to find an answer in this recipe. Make your own pineapple juice, it's easy and quick and would leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated! Instead of any artificial sweeteners or refined sugar, try using natural sweeteners like honey or dates! Sip your way to health!
Enjoy the goodness of juicy pineapples in your favourite glass!
Ingredients
- Pineapple: 2 to 2.5 cups (chopped) or 1 small pineapple (chopped)
- Water: 1 to 1.25 cups or add as required
- Ice cubes: 6 to 8
- Honey or dates syrup: 2-3 tsp
- Black salt: to taste (optional)
- Roasted cumin powder: ½ tsp (optional)
Method
- Peel-chop or chop-peel the pineapples.
- Add 2-3 tsps of honey or dates syrup to the pineapples and blend the mixture smoothly in a blender.
- If you want a very thick juice, then do not add any water. Skip the ice cubes if you don't prefer cold.
- Blend till smooth and thin consistency. You can add some more water.
- Strain the juice if you do not desire the pulp.
- Pour in a glass and garnish with pineapple wedges or slices, for an Indian touch. You can sprinkle some black salt and the roasted cumin powder in the juice.
Eating Guide:
- Food group: Fruits
- Best time to eat: mornings as breakfast or first meal. Can also be offered as a summer cooler to kids just as they are back from school or play.
- You could adjust the consistency as per preference.
- Remember to eat alone and not mixed with meals.
