The irresistible combo of basil, garlic, and fresh tomatoes come together in this flavorful salsa. It is a versatile preparation that goes well as a condiment with Indian and western cuisine alike. A wonderful way to add the goodness of raw tomatoes to your meals. It is also a good way to jazz up otherwise boring meals!

Fresh salsa is so easy to make and it only takes a few minutes. If you have fresh tomatoes and basil on hand, this only adds another 10 minutes to your prep time.

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes: 3 (diced)
  • Basil: 4-5 fresh leaves
  • Garlic: 2 pods (peeled and crushed)
  • Rock Salt: to taste
  • Green chillies: ½ (optional)

Method

  • Wash your tomatoes and cube/dice them into medium sized pieces.
  • Use the garlic squeezer, to crush the garlic pods. Or chop finely.
  • Chop the basil leaves lengthwise into slender pieces.
  • Chop the green chillies.
  • Mix all ingredients with diced tomatoes. Squish and mix well with hands (or spoon).
  • Add salt just before serving.
  • Serve in a good looking ceramic or glass bowl.
