Not sure Shweta. Because when u soak, salt may get more absorbed because of water's presence. You might as well try cleaning them in running water to wash off the salt &then soak in fresh water........I have ran out of pistas & am planning to use cashews instead :-)

Hi Anchal, I also plan to make thandai this holi. Just wanted to check that the pista I have at home if the salted one. As it needs to be soaked, I guess the salt will get removed. Will that work well in this recipe?

Tried this yesterday as I plan to serve this on Holi. So the trick here is that your paste should be really fine. In my case, it wasn't. So I ended up making this like the nut milk recipe. Output - thandai instead of thandai paste. Tasted yum.
