Raw mango salad dressing - sweet & sour

Add this tangy mango dressing to your veggie salads. It can also be used as a chutney with cooked foods. 

Ingredients

2 small raw mangoes 

Jaggery - as per desired sweetness 

Rock salt - 1/2 tsp

Roasted Jeera powder - 1/2 or 1 tsp 

Red chilli powder - 1/4 or 1/2 tsp

Mint or coriander leaves - a handful 

 

Adjust proportions based on your taste buds.

Method

  1. Wash raw mango, peel, chop into small pieces minus the seed and put in mixie.
  2. Wash coriander leaves thoroughly and add to mixie.
  3. Grind to a smooth paste.
  4. Transfer to a pan for cooking on low flame.
  5. Let it cook for 5 minutes. Its colour will start changing to light brown.
  6. Add all other ingredients.
  7. Cook for another few minutes.
  8. Take it off flame and let it cool down.
  9. Transfer to glass jar or bowl. Refrigerate. Use when needed.
