It is a filling healthy rice pulao. It is good for hormones. Helps in maintaining needed body temperature.
1. Cooked brown rice (basmati)- 1 cup (add bay leaves and cook 1 cup basmati and keep it aside)
2. Drum sticks - 8 (big)
3. Onion chopped thin - 2
4. Tomato - 3 (cut thin, length wise)
5. Jeera - 1/2 tsp
6. Cold-pressed oil - 5 tsp
7. Coriander, curry leaves - for garnish (say 10 curry leaves, 2 tbsp chopped coriander)
For Paste
1. Coconut (fresh)- 150 gram
2. Jeera , somph (fennel seeds/saunf) - 1/2 tsp( each)
3. Garlic - 4
4. Cashew - 8 (soak for 1 hour and then use)
5. Clove- 5
6. Cinnamon - 1 inch
( if making satvic version, do not add clove and cinnamon)
7.green chilly - 5( as per spicy of u r chilly)
Make a fine paste of the above and keep separately.
Pre-preparation.
Method :
1. In a kadai add oil and jeera let it toast for 1 min.
2. Then add chopped onion and tomato and cook till tomato gets mushy.
3. Then add the paste and cook till raw smell goes. May take 15 to 20 min.
4. Add the drumsticks pulp and give a mix and immediately switch off the flame. ( don't cook for a long time )
5. Then add salt and mix (after u switch off)
6. Once the mixture cools down, mix it along with rice and garnish with coriander and curry leaves.
