Figs Strawberry Black Grapes Juice - quick way to increase your fruit intake!

This recipe is a great way to include seasonal fruits like strawberry and black grapes in your diet. Both of these fruits are in season only for a brief duration (Jan -Mar). So make the best of them when in season. It's always wise to use seasonal fruits to get maximum nutrition out of them. Fruits also taste better when in season.

Figs are a great source of fibre and full of vitamins and minerals. They are also a great source of natural sugar. Do try to put together these fresh fruits to get a yummy drink to sip on!

Ingredients

  • Fresh figs: 3-4 (peeled and chopped into pieces)
  • Black grapes: 100g or 1 cup (de-seeded)
  • Strawberry: 100g or 1 cup (finely cut into pieces and the top green section removed)
  • Water as per consistency
  • Honey: 1-2 tsp (optional)

Method

  • Blend the cut figs, black grapes and the strawberry pieces together well in a blender.
  • Add ¼ to ½ cup of water as per consistency and give it a blend one more time.
  • Add honey if more sweetness is desired.

Tasty figs-black grapes-strawberry juice is ready to be served!


Eating Guide:

  • Food group: Fruits
  • Best time to eat: mornings as breakfast or first meal. Can be eaten as evening snack.
  • Great way to up fruits for kids, offer them after school or play.
  • Remember to eat alone and not mixed with meals.
