Palak Lauki Juice - easy way to add greens to your diet!

Eating huge quantities of greens and vegetables in raw form can be very difficult. Extracting a hydrating juice can be a nutrient dense way to incorporate them into our diets. Juicing vegetables and greens are known to be a fantastic way to consume nature’s goodness. This green juice really packs the punch with pure extract and the right mix of herbs, lime and ginger to balance the taste.
Ingredients
- Lauki: 3 cups (cut into cubes)
- Palak: ¾ cup(washed cleaned)
- Ginger: 1 inch
- Coriander leaves: ½ cup
- Mint leaves: ½ cup
- Raw mango: ½ cup (cut into cubes)
- Lime: 1
- Cumin powder: ½ tsp
- Black salt: ½ tsp
Method
- In a blender (you could use a slow juicer if you have one) start by placing the lauki first, followed by mango pieces and ginger, then the palak, coriander and mint leaves.
- Blend together without adding any water.
- Use a strainer or a mesh to extract the juice.
- Squeeze the juice of one lime and add black salt and cumin powder.
- Best had as soon as it is made.
Wellcure tip: Use three amlas in place of raw mangoes whenever available. Amla has amazing cleansing properties.
Eating guide
- Food group: vegetables (raw)
- Vegetables, particularly raw vegetable not only have a high nutritional quotient, but they are also rich in fibre and water content and are easy for your stomach to digest. They also help your body get the enzymes that otherwise get destroyed in the process of cooking.
- Adding raw vegetables from the whole spectrum of rainbow colours available in nature ensures the intake of a whole range of macro as well as micro-nutrients.
- Juices can be had in the morning or evenings too. While vegetables can be mixed with most food groups (except fruits), usually juices are best consumed mid-morning or in the evening.
