
Banana, Chikoo and Soaked Figs Smoothie - a simple energizer to start your day!

Try this recipe to discover for yourself how those soft, mushy and sweet fruits, blended with figs could create a healthy juice that your kids may end up asking for more! Figs are extremely high on fibre and calcium - excellent to be meet the nutritional needs of growing kids. Blended along with fruits enables kids to consume figs, which otherwise they may resist.
A dairy-free shake recipe you could put together in just about 20 min, with a little arrangement in advance. Simply soak some dry figs about 3-4 hours prior to making the drink.
Ingredients
- Dried figs: 4-5 medium sized (soaked for 3-4 hours)
- Banana: 2 medium sizes (peeled and chopped)
- Chikoo: 2 medium sized (peeled, deseeded and chopped)
- Honey for taste (optional)
- Water as per the consistency
Method
- Blend the cut banana, chikoo and the soaked figs together in a blender well.
- Add water as per consistency and give it a blend one more time.
- Mix about 1-2 tsp of honey for sweetness if needed (optional)
Serve the tasty banana-chioko-figs juice and enjoy!

- Best time to eat: mornings as breakfast or first meal. Can be eaten as evening snacks.
- Great way to up figs for kids.
- Remember to eat alone and not mixed with meals.
