ATP is an energy molecule that our body stores after breaking down the food. As the store of ATP reduces, your cells will start burning up glycogen (a glucose molecule stored in muscles) to make more ATP. To get more glucose, your c

3 GOOD REASONS TO QUIT MILK & DAIRY
Despite so much scientific evidence and globally acknowledged changes there is hardly any awareness about consumption of milk. As a health coach I constantly face questions about milk. Many people get shocked when I ask them to give up dairy or at least stop daily consumption. One question comes persistently, “Our forefathers drank milk and led healthy lives. Then why should we give up drinking milk? Let's examine the Milk Question with more depth. 1. NATURE's DESIGN Milk serves a very important purpose in mammals (the species to which Humans belong). When the child is born it is not fully developed and cannot hunt or forage for its own food. It doesn't have the physiology or the digestive system to eat food. It needs 3 things: Nourishment (for survival and growth) Immunity (to adapt to the external environment and pathogens ) Brain development (for overall health) Milk is required
Breast feeding v/s baby foods
Babies should be breast fed We of the school of basic nature - cure have always been recommending breastfeeding of babies, for this is how nature intends babies to be brought up. Of late, even the W.H.O. and the U.N.I.C.E.F. have started urging that babies be breastfed in the interest of improving the standard of health of society as a whole The Member states of W.H.O. are in a sense, committed to the policy of encouraging breastfeeding of babies by their mothers, for an as long time as possible. Mother's health matters At present, the unnatural ways of living adopted by many women during their pre and postnatal stages are responsible for the lowering of their health - level to an extent where breastfeeding by them becomes impossible beyond, at the most, a few weeks. In certain cases, infants have to be kept on bottle feeding straight from the day of the birth as their mothers are very poor in health. Contrast this with those who follow our advice and adopt in the
PLANT-BASED DIET MAY NOT MAKE YOU ‘STRONGER’, BUT SO WHAT?
Recently, a friend has shared a promo of an upcoming movie (The game changer) where the plant-based diet is proposed better than the meat-based diet in terms of ‘gaining strength' for the professions of muscle-building etc! A dialogue by a bodybuilder who eats a plant-based diet: “Someone asked me, ‘How could you get as strong as an ox without eating any meat?' And my answer was, ‘Have you ever seen an ox eating meat?'” Being a Nature Cure follower it could be a piece of delighting information because the plant-based diet is proposed better compared to a complex animal-based diet for mankind in Nature Cure. But ‘the dialectics' restrict me to come to an immediate conclusion, whatsoever! Let us understand what is the strength, first! As it is defined, Strength is the property/quality of being strong. That means it is a property directly connected to the vitality or the innate energy of the organism.
Let us start at Zero (Dialectics of Dialectics)
What if, I don't have any scripture to refer? What if, I don't follow a person just for the sake of following? What if, I don't have any community to support my understandings about life? The dialectics is about the art of investigating the TRUTH of opinions. It is an exploration of truth without any specific dependencies of scripture, individual or the data. It is an exercise of individual's own rationality, intellect and the wisdom. Unless it is reached by the intellect of the individual it is not a pure acceptance. If it is expressed as accepted on the basis of ‘Where is it written at?' or ‘Who said it?' or ‘How many people have accepted, it?' - it is a pretension. It is an ‘ancient-syndrome' of the individual. Ancient-syndrome is just another psychological confinement and inadequacy that we usually suffer from. This is a state where the individual starts with the prior consideration of s
THE VOICE OF THE ORGANISM, MIND, MATTERS et. Al.

His personal story has been explained by his long term student, Kevin Hinton in this way: Written and Edited from a personal letter handed to me by my teacher during my studies of Nature Cure - the philosophy of Natural Living and Natural Healing. A True Cancer Cure of an individual at the age of 23 - diagnosed with Cancer of the liver and given 3-6 months to live. 1. “…I commenced with a preparatory treatment consisting of a natural diet, hydrotherapy, exercise and sunbaths.” 2. “I ate only one pineapple a day at midday.” This is a mono-diet - pineapples w

The Secret of Glowing, Youthful Skin – Part 2
In Part 1 of this series on skin health, we understood the role of the skin and what skin indicates about our health. In this blog, let's look at lifestyle correction factors so that the skin can be restored to a natural, blemish-free, glowing health. Factors which affect skin health Denatured foods- Our diet should consist mainly of wholesome, natural foods. Dairy, non-veg, processed foods, excess intake of grains, refined oils, sugar and salt tire the body as these foods are hard to digest and cause problems in the elimination of digestive waste. Hence these should be reduced greatly or eliminated. Some common skin breakout triggers reported are sugar, dairy, wheat, alcohol, smoking, coffee, tea, chocolate and carbonated beverages. These are acidic foods and cause an imbalance in the acid-alkaline balance in the body. They are also dehydrating foods as they take away water from the body for digestion leaving skin look haggard and dry. When these are replaced with h
Magic of Water - Hydrotherapy part 2
Taking it further from our previous blog post - The magic of hydrotherapy part 1, let us delve into the depths of the topic of Hydrotherapy and learn about the different ways in which we can use water for healing purposes. HOW CAN A WET PACK BE USED IN DIFFERENT DISEASE CONDITIONS? The Cooling Wet Pack This is suitable for people with acute issues such as fevers, etc, where the reactive powers of the body are still very strong. Place two thick wet towels cross on one another on a table and let the sick person lie on it. Cover the trunk from below the armpits to the waist with both the towels. If need be it can also be arranged in such a manner as to cover the thighs and the knees. Pour more water on the towels as to get them dripping wet, cover with two swollen blankets to keep the air from cooling the towels more than necessary. The body heat will warm up the towels in 15 to 20 minutes. If this doesn't happen then it means the body's reactive powers are too we
Are Germs Our Friends Or Enemies?
I am a mother of a two-year-old and am completely losing my head over whether I should get my little cherub vaccinated? The questions that keep me busy are whether I should believe “Big Pharma” and the medical advice passed on for ages that says vaccinations are a must for fighting against germs that cause disease in our bodies or take a more holistic view which posits that germs are not the cause of disease but an unhealthy internal ecosystem. I am also a seeker of answers to bigger issues related to disease- Are germs the sole cause of dangerous diseases or they have been given credit for too much? Or in short, are germs our real enemies? This is the reason why I decided to delve deep into the ‘germ' dogmas that require an urgent re-look. The Germ Theory Most of us have heard of the French biologist Louis Pasteur. He was the scientist who postulated that germs cause disease. He,in fact, came up with the Germ theory in the 1850s which is a simple st
6 Signs of Good Health: Nature Cure Insights
Parameters to judge your health Health is the greatest wealth, which means that he who has health must cherish it with care, lest he should lose it. Unfortunately, it happens that most people do not know the value of health until it is lost. Nature cure provides a window for everyone to judge his health level without resorting to costly diagnostic tests. Medical professionals have a number of standards for checking the health level of a person. There are tables giving standards of height, weight, temperature, pulse-rate, blood pressure, respiration, so on and so forth. But all these show only a patient's condition. The disease that is latent cannot be detected by any of these tests. Health is therefore far different. A healthy feeling is one in which the person does not feel the presence of his body, its weight at any part of presence of his body. Otherwise, weight at any part of the body is known by the presence of pain or uneasiness there, which is the indicat
Saving Electricity for the health of the Planet!
June 5th is World environment day and for 2019, the theme is air pollution. How To Buy The Best Fruits & Vegetables for Your Health
I began shopping for fruits and veggies for the house only a few years ago (till then managed by another family member). This was when I began my journey of Natural Living. Buying on my own became important as food was an important element of my health transformation. I had learnt that food is a key input to support the body's self-healing powers. From someone who was never interested in phal sabji shopping because it was a boring chore, to someone who now feels restless if she doesn't visit fruit veggie vendors for a while.....life has come a long way!! Over the last few years. based on my on-the-ground experience, I have made a few principles on how to approach shopping f&v - what to buy, what not to buy, how to simplify this choice and choose the best? I'm still learning and improvising, but through this blog, I would like to share what I have accomplished so far!! Sharing below my guiding principles to simplify shopping f&v. 1. Eat seaso
Garbh Sanskar: Recipe to a Happy Pregnancy
We all are aware of the story of the Mahabharata, wherein Arjuna narrated to Subhadra the art of breaking into the Chakravyu when Abhimanyu was in her womb. Later Abhimanyu could use this technique during warfare. This narration from the Mahabharata teaches us how receptive our unborn are when they are still inside the womb! Another mythological story of Garbh Sanskar is how beautifully Ashtavakra's mother, Sujata, learnt about the art of knowing more things. Sujata started listening to discourses for theintellectual and spiritual growth of her child right from the womb so that the unborn could perceive more knowledge. Garbh Sankar means the education and values we inculcate in our kids when they are leaving their foetal life. We know about some facts like how the child's mind starts conceiving things even in the foetal state. That is why doctors advise a lot on staying healthier and happier during the ante-natal period. The Ante-natal is a period of 9 months before
Do you need curd for probioctics?
Curd has long been a staple in the Indian diet. Whether it is used as buttermilk called chaas in north India, majjige or sambaram in south India or used in its thick, creamy form as ‘dahi' in biryanis, raitas, chaat or in the must-end-to all-meals - tayir sadam of south Indian cuisine, curd has, for long, thought to have cooling and digestive properties. Today, we examine the claim of curd being good for the stomach and digestion as it is considered a probiotic What is curd? Curd is a naturally fermented product of dairy. By adding a previous batch of curd called a ‘starter' or by using a probiotic capsule, or by other means of adding ‘live' cultures, boiled milk is ‘set' to form curd. The proliferation of the small, initial set of bacteria under the right conditions, ferments the milk to form curd. The milk takes on a thicker, creamier consistency and also develops a slightly tangy taste. Claims on health Every
Mahatma Gandhi - The Nature Curist you did not know
Foresightedness is a virtue that has led to the evolution of humans since time immemorial. And how can you not expect this quality in a man who is the ‘Father of The Nation'? What many people are saying today about health and healing, had been voiced ages ago by our very own ‘Bapu'. Gandhiji did lifelong experiments in Health and Hygiene and that lead to his believe in Nature cure. He believed that the Human body is a wonderful and perfect machine. If it gets out of order, it can set itself right without medicine, provided it is given a chance to adjust itself. If we are not self-disciplined in our habits of food etc. or if our mind is agitated by passion, emotion or anxiety, the body cannot eliminate all the refuse and that part which remains uneliminated turns into toxins whose presence gives rise to symptoms which we call disease. The disease is an attempt of the body to get rid of toxins. If the body is helped in the process of elimination by fas
Jaggery – A quick roundup through FAQs
Jaggery is commonly recommended as a healthy alternative to white sugar. Have you ever wondered why? Read on to know more. The article also touches upon some practical tips on how to choose the right quality of jaggery. If you are buying jaggery for health reasons, you might as well buy the best that's available. 1. Why is jaggery considered to be better than white sugar? Jaggery is prepared from the juice of plants like sugarcane and date palm. Hence the plant source of making jaggery is same as that of sugar. It is the process that makes the two different, in terms of their impact on our body and health. The traditional method of making jaggery involves boiling sugar cane juice till it starts becoming thick and solidifies into jaggery. Typically, the sugarcane juice is first kept in a container, such that the impurities settle at the bottom. Then the juice is placed in huge, heavy bottom pans and boiled. The impurities are constantly skimmed off the top in the proce
