Market bought pickles are: high on chemical salt high refined oil have additives & preservatives stabilizers acid regulators It is infact a toxic overload on our bodies! If you love your pickles, best is to go back to basics. Here is a quick 15 minute oil free recipe for our favorite mango pickle.
Raw Mango Side Dish - homemade, additive-free!
Inspired by Assamese cuisine this side dish is a yummy pickle-like addition to meals. At the start of mango season when raw mangoes are in abundance in the market, add this amply to meals for taste and health both! Jaggery balances the sourness of mangoes. The pungent raw mustard oil zings up the chillies. Together they create the magic of flavours and show just how easy it is to add taste to meals naturally!
Momos Chutney - quick-to-do without any additives or preservatives!
This is a hot and spicy tomato chilli garlic sauce, popularly known as momos chutney. Though it is commonly served with momos, it goes well with other snacks like non-fried pakoras or fritters. It practically takes just about 15 minutes to put it all together. It's not only a yummy addition to your snacks, it's a healthier option as it is free of any additives or preservatives too! You could even pre-prepare and store it in your fridge and enjoy this lip-smacking condiment as and when required.
Hearty Warm Tomato Soup - get the goodness of veggies
This is a wonderful winter soup. If vegetables are cooked too long they lose their enzymes & nutrition. Thus we usually steam the veggies where needed. Or mostly keep them crunchy, say in the following recipe adding them only at the end. We also do not heat or reheat or boil too much. Idea is to retain flavour and color of veggies!
