If you are looking for a short term solution, it may due to build up of gas. Do some yogasanas like pavanamuktasana. Alternatively, tie a cold wet towel around your tummy for 20 minutes thrice a day

Hi there,

Shortness of breath also known as dyspnea in medical terms is laboured breathing. The difficulty in breathing or heaviness can be due to some underlying physiological causes and also because of sedentary lifestyle habit.
Improving the quality of lifestyle can help improve the condition..;
• Go for regular exercises to keep your body and mind healthy and active. Obesity is one common factor responsible for shortness of breath.
• Do not overeat. Overeating can cause you abdominal discomfort and breathing problem.
• Try practising yogasanas. Pranayama and deep breathing exercises such as kapalabhati, sitali, ujjayi pranayama can improve your breathing.
• Add a drop of any essential oil such as eucalyptus oil in boiling water and take a facial steam. This will help open the nasal passages.
• Smoking and alcohol can worsen the breathing condition. Avoid them.
