How to remove pesticides from fruits and vegetables? And what is best way to choose fresh fruits and veggies?

Hi 

  • To Remove pesticides from fruits and vegetables soak for 20 to 30 mins then rinse Fruits and vegetables may helps to remove little bit of pesticides.
  • You can soak fruits and vegetables in lukewarm water or salt water (10% solution) FRO 20-30 mins and rinse is more effective.
  • Try to consume organcally grown vegetables and fruits.

Selection of fresh fruits and vegetables:

  • Check for firmness vibrant or color and scent for both fruits and vegetables.
  • In fruits Check for fitness by gently pressing the fruits and check for bruises or dents.
  • Check for sweet scent in ripened fruits. Black dots in tired banana. Weight in case of melons, grapes,  lemon, orange and mausambi.
  • In pineapple check for size and crispy leaves.
  • Root vegetables check for cracks and soft spots, they should be crisp and vibrant color. 
  • Leafy vegetables leaves should be Crisp and void of wither or color changes.

Nowadays the idea of having a Kitchen garden is really promising and it is beautiful to see in small houses the spaces are used so well which helps in increasing the intake of food which are organic.

To experiment with you can start with small herbs and green leafy vegetables which take fewer efforts more in the nutrient.

Have seasonal fruits and veggies. If you can buy organic that’s the best. If you cant, then seasonal is the best. Body when efficient,  heals despite the toxins on the products. Have raw either way. Many nature cure centres focus on raw and are not organic, but people heal nevertheless. So body does its job. Don’t fear. Just wash and eat. Peel if needed, but consume raw . Cooking concentrates the chemicals.

Hello,

The best way to remove pesticides is to first wash the fruits and veggies in normal tap water. 

For the second wash, take drinking water and add a pinch of salt and turmeric to the water, put the veggies and fruits for 5-10 minutes. Salt and Turmeric both can kill germs and remove excess layer of pesticides. 

After that you can rinse them again, this will help you to remove pesticides..

सभी फलों और सब्ज़ियों को पानी में डुबो कर रखें। 2 घंटे बाद इसका प्रयोग करें। पानी में नीम का रस डाल कर उसमें डुबो कर रखें। साफ़ कपड़े से पोंछ कर धुप में 20 मिनट के लिए रखें। कोई भी सब्ज़ी या फल जिसमें अंदर तक रासायनिक द्रव्य जा चुका है वह  खाने योग्य नहीं रह जाता है। ख़ुद से फलों और सब्ज़ियों को उपजाने की कोशिश करेंगे आपके कोशिश से अन्य लोग जो आपके आस पास रहते हैं वो भी प्रेरित होंगे। मिट्टी में काम करने से आपका स्वास्थ भी बेहतर होगा। किचन गार्डन, रूफ़ गार्डन बनाएँ।

मौसम कई क़िस्में बड़ी ही आसानी से घर में उगाई जा सकती है। नीम और कपूर को कीटनाशक के रूप प्रयोग करें। सब्ज़ियों और फलों के छिलके को खाद के लिए प्रयोग में लें।

Hi. Many people have already shared their tips with you. I'll just approach it from a different perspective - reducing chemicals from your life instead of just fruits & veggies. 

1. Pesticides & chemicals are more in non veg, dairy, processed & packaged foods rather than in f&v. - Minimise those.

2. Buy organic F&V if possible, grow ur own food if possible.......else buy locally available & seasonal F&V to minimise pesticides & chemicals. Wash them thoroughly with water before consuming.

3. We eat F&V for their enzymes & nutrients which are heat sensitive. When you expose them to heat of 46 degrees or more, the living food starts becoming dead. And for foods heated above 90 degrees, the food itself becomes carcinogenic......Cook if you prefer so - but steam lightly, cook at low flame, don't heat & re-heat. When you eat living foods beaming with enzymes & nutrients, they will fight off the unwanted chemicals & pesticides in your body.

4. You can also reduce use of chemicals in personal & home care products. 

So yes there's a lot that one can do & raw / lightly cooked will help u in that direction.
