I'm suffering from asthma last 8 year and still no changes and recovery in my health. What to do?

Namaste 

To solve a health issue you need to have removed all the reasons that had caused the asthma in the first place. So what ever treatment or changes you brought in your lifestyle to get rid of the asthma was not sufficient enough to heal naturally.

Asthma means the  air passages are blocked due to excess mucous. Now how did the mucous get formed? When we consume lots of highly processed foods, milk and milk products, the chances of mucous formation are very high. And if our lifestyle is very erratic, then the digestion and absorption of the consumed food does not happen normally and so more mucous is being formed.  Imbalances in our elimination and excretion will also be one of the reasons for more mucous formation.

To help our body work normally we need to remove all the toxins and mucous from  the body. And to achieve that we need to just remove things that are taxing on our vitality and introduce practices that help the body in cleansing and healing.  Here is what you can do:

Foods to be removed

1 All packaged and processed outside food-like substances.

2 Refined flour and refined oil

3 All types of stimulants like tea and coffee. If you drink alcohol then that too must be stopped.

4 All overcooked, deep-fried oily food.

5 Dairy, eggs and meat

Foods to be included

1 Fresh locally grown seasonal fruits - 50% of daily intake

2 Fresh seasonal vegetables and greens - 35% of daily intake

3 Grains - soaked or sprouted or steamed - 10 % of daily intake

4 soaked nuts and seeds - 5% of daily intake

And understand this - it is not only the food that influences your quality of health but many other things too matter equally. 

1 Learn Pranayam and yoga for relaxing your mind, improving your flexibility and activating your lymphatic system.As you slowly learn the asanas your glands will start working better and assist well in your cleansing and healing. You can seeing relief in your asthma just after a months practice too. If you follow rest of the advice also properly.

2 Get good sun exposure either in the early hours of the morning or a couple of hours before sunset. 

3 Get in touch with Mother Earth. Do some gardening with your hands or at least walk barefoot on sand or mud. Sit in parks or lie on the ground or lawns and relax.

4 Keep an eye on your bowel movement. See to it that your bowels are always functioning normally. Eliminate larger quantities than what you eat.

5 Rest and relax well. Sleep in the earlier part of the night and sleep through the night. Wake up before or with the sun. Cleansing and healing happens best when you are in rest.

6 Be well hydrated. Consume a lot of juicy fruits veggies and greens to hydrate yourself well.

7 Get your body moving, do yoga or participate in any outdoor sport, walk or do some gardening. Moving your body will support the removal of toxins and free flow of vitality

8 Be happy always. Don’t let life’s negativities to bog you down. Always be positive.

Follow these principles and as you go on eliminating toxins and discarding all damaged unhealthy tissues you will start seeing a great change in your overall health.  Slowly and steadily the breathing will get better as lesser mucous will be produced and the old stock would have gradually been removed from your system. 

And during this process you may face phases of asthma attacks or lot of mucous being eliminated through nose . Don’t get frightened, when ever there is a flare up remember to go into rest mode. Rest at three levels. Physical, mental and physiological. Sleep a lot, do not work or take up any responsibility. Stop your food intake completely until the flare up subsides. Then break your fast with fresh seasonal fruits especially pomogranate, pineapple or oranges. This way you can get rid of your asthma permanently.

There are many factors that can lead to breathing issues. It could be stress-based, it could be based on what you inhale that will inflammate the bronchial passage, it could be due to nerve inflammations due to a bad lifestyle, It could also be due to a viral activity.Inhalers can help ease symptoms temporarily, but if you are suffering from chronic asthma and use your inhaler a lot, you may become immune to the steroids at some point. 

See many of these irritants can get accumulated in the lungs and can cling to your bronchial walls and go up and down as you breathe irritating the bronchial tubes. This overtime causes inflammation of the lungs. Mucus is one of the bodies protective mechanisms to trap viruses and other irritants that are entering the body. However in places where the mucus must not be present if you can start accumulating, it can be very hard for the internal organs like the lungs to breathe. We eliminate healthy mucus when we have cold and cough this is because that is bodies natural response to eliminating the virus and accumulation in the body. However mucus starts getting excessively produced in the internal organs such as the gut,  the intestinal walls the lungs where it is unnecessary, If you eat foods that produces excess mucus. Excess mucus putrifies and hardens overtime and refuses to leave the body in all the attempts that the body makes. Such is the time when you will have also have breathing issues. The major root causes of all your problems is having excess animal foods such as dairy eggs meat fish. So elimination of these foods it’s self will ensure that the body makes way to clean itself. Secondly other foods that contribute to such issues are sugar, excess jaggery, the food with excess spices . Medicines play a key role in ensuring that more toxins accumulate because of the chemicals in the medicines.  Medicines are also alien to the body and the effort of suppression of the mucus from coming out leads to further deterioration and worsens the breathing issues and other respiratory issues.

The only way to permanently get a relief from these issues is to follow a wholefood plant-based lifestyle with each food coming only from plants. Gluten here is an exception that you will have to makealthough  it comes from plants we will still have to remove it from our diet. Gluten is present in wheat maida barley oats and all the Rawa that is made from wheat. Do not attempt to eat any of the bakery products which are loaded with transfat. Oil and any greasy foods must be absolutely removed from the diet.

First let us understand why Asthama occurs:

Asthma is a respiratory disease which is characterized by narrowing of the airways. This happens when the body responses to a trigger such as exposure to cold air, allergens in the air, emotional stress or heavy exercise.

When the airways narrow, patients show symptoms such as tightness of the chest, wheezing noise while breathing, coughing and shortness of breath.

Initial symptoms of Asthama will be:

Cough

Chest pain

Tightness in breathing

Wheezing

Shortness of breath

How to overcome by adapting our Diet & Lifestyle:

Pulses like old rice (rice which is stored for at least one year is called old), wheat, barley, kulattha, mung beans, arhar beans, etc . should be consumed.

Honey, warm drinks like herbal teas, spice teas are recommonded.

Sprouts, nuts and seeds can be taken in moderate amount.

The heavy foods and those which make toxins to be avoided. Mainly dairy products, animal products strictly to be avoided.

Yoga and Pranayama can be helpful.

Prepare a mixture of powdered dried ginger root, black pepper and long pepper in equal amounts and store in an airtight container. Have ½ teaspoonful of this powder mixed with ½ teaspoonful of honey twice a day with lukewarm water.

Spend more time with nature. Increase immunity power.

Hello !!!

Asthma is related to the dysfunction in respiratory tract and it can be a chronic disorder; and in order to heal from Asthma, first foremost you need to be able to breathe in the natural oxygen which is released from the trees and green around. If you could spare 29 minutes every morning to go out in the nature and have a walk or walk barefoot on the grass , these both exercises can help you to naturally heal.

Secondly, in your diet you can include lot of green diet which includes eating half cooked vegetables, have a bowl of salad with your meals for sure. You can eat all kinds of fruits except for citrus for some time...Till you feel better. Have dry fruits, nuts and melon seeds . 

Yoga or Mindfulness can definitely help you to heal as if will give you positive vibration that can help you have faith in the natural healing process.

हेलो सोनम जी,

 

कारण - पाचन क्रिया का स्वस्थ ना होने से आँत में प्रदाह (inflammation) होता और वह फेफड़ों में संक्रमण पैदा करता है। शरीर में मौजूद मिनरल दूषित होकर कफ में परिवर्तित होते जाते हैं और ऑक्सिजन की मात्रा में आती है।

समाधान - अनुलोम विलोम, आंतरिक कुंभक और बाह्य कुंभक करें। सर्वांगआसन और सूर्य नमस्कार 5 बार करें। दुध या दुध से बना कोई चीज़ ना लें। नीम के पत्ते का और खीरा पेस्ट अपने पेट पर रखें। 20मिनट तक रख कर साफ़ कर लें।

शरीर को यह ज्ञान है कि ख़ुद को स्वस्थ कैसे रखना है। हम इस बात से अनभिज्ञ हैं। जब हमारी प्राणशक्ति हमें ऊर्जा दे रही होती है तो वह स्वास्थ्य की स्थिति है। जब हमारी प्राण शक्ति हमारे शरीर के अंदर विषाणुओं (toxic) को साफ़ करने में लग जाती है तो वह अस्वस्थ होने की स्थिति होती है।

प्राण शक्ति ने सिर्फ़ अपना काम बदल लिया क्योंकि हमने अपनी ग़लत आदतों के वजह से उसे ऐसा करने पर मजबूर किया है। अब उसको सही खुराक से मदद करें और उसपर विश्वास बनाए रखें। किसी प्राकृतिक चिकित्सक के देख रेख में टोना लें। जिससे आँत की प्रदाह को शांत किया जा सके। एनिमा किट मँगा लें। यह किट ऑनलाइन मिल जाएगा। इससे 200ml पानी गुदाद्वार से अंदर डालें और प्रेशर आने पर मल त्याग करें। ऐसा दिन में दो बार करना है अगले 21 दिनों के लिए। ये करना है ताकि शरीर में मोजुद विषाणु निष्कासित हो जाये। इसके बाद हफ़्ते में केवल एक बार लेना है उपवास के अगले दिन। टोना का फ़ायदा तभी होगा जब आहार शुद्धि करेंगे।

जीवन शैली - आकाश, वायु, अग्नि, जल, पृथ्वी ये पाँच तत्व आपके शरीर में रोज़ खुराक की तरह जाना चाहिए।

पृथ्वी और शरीर का बनावट एक जैसा 70% पानी से भरा हुआ। पानी जो कि फल, सब्ज़ी से मिलता है।

1 आकाश तत्व- एक खाने से दूसरे खाने के बीच में विराम दें। रोज़ाना 15 घंटे का उपवास करें जैसे रात का भोजन 7 बजे तक कर लिया और सुबह का नाश्ता 9 बजे लें।

2 वायु तत्व- लंबा गहरा स्वाँस अंदर भरें और रुकें फिर पूरे तरीक़े से स्वाँस को ख़ाली करें रुकें फिर स्वाँस अंदर भरें ये एक चक्र हुआ। ऐसे 10 चक्र एक टाइम पर करना है। ये दिन में चार बार करें।I

खुली हवा में बैठें या टहलें।

3 अग्नि तत्व- सूरर्य उदय के एक घंटे बाद या सूर्य अस्त के एक घंटे पहले का धूप शरीर को ज़रूर लगाएँ। सर और आँख को किसी सूती कपड़े से ढक कर। जब भी लेंटे अपना दायाँ भाग ऊपर करके लेटें ताकि आपकी सूर्य नाड़ी सक्रिय रहे।

4 जल तत्व- खाना खाने से एक घंटे पहले नाभि के ऊपर गीला सूती कपड़ा लपेट कर रखें और खाना के 2 घंटे बाद भी ऐसा करना है।

मेरुदंड स्नान के लिए अगर टब ना हो तो एक मोटा तौलिया गीला कर लें बिना निचोरे उसको बिछा लें और अपने मेरुदंड को उस स्थान पर रखें।

मेरुदंड (स्पाइन) सीधा करके बैठें। हमेशा इस बात ध्यान रखें और हफ़्ते में 3 दिन मेरुदंड का स्नान करें। 

5 पृथ्वी- सब्ज़ी, सलाद, फल, मेवे, आपका मुख्य आहार होगा। आप सुबह सफ़ेद पेठे 20ग्राम पीस कर 100 ml पानी में मिला कर पीएँ। 2 घंटे बाद फल नाश्ते में लेना है।

दोपहर में 12 बजे फिर से इसी जूस को लें। इसके एक घंटे बाद खाना खाएँ।शाम को 5 बजे सफ़ेद पेठे (ashguard) 20 ग्राम पीस कर 100 ml पानी मिला। 2घंटे तक कुछ ना लें। रात के सलाद में हरे पत्तेदार सब्ज़ी को डालें। कच्चा पपीता 50 ग्राम कद्दूकस करके डालें। कभी सीताफल ( yellow pumpkin)50 ग्राम ऐसे ही डालें। कभी सफ़ेद पेठा (ashgurad) 30 ग्राम कद्दूकस करके डालें। ऐसे ही ज़ूकीनी 50 ग्राम कद्दूकस करके डालें। इसी प्रकार हरा गोभी, बंद गोभी, गाजर, चुकन्दर भी कद्दूकस करके डालें। हर दिन मुख्य सब्ज़ी किसी एक की मात्रा अधिक बाँकि सब थोड़ा थोड़ा डालें। ताज़ा नारियल पीस कर मिलाएँ। कभी काजू बादाम अखरोट मूँगफली भिगोए हुए पीस कर मिलाएँ। 

लाल, हरा, पीला शिमला मिर्च 1/4 हिस्सा हर एक का मिलाएँ। इसे बिना नमक के खाएँ। नमक सेंधा ही प्रयोग करें। नमक की मात्रा दोपहर के खाने में भी बहुत कम लें। सब्ज़ी पकने बाद उसमें नमक डालें। नमक पका कर या अधिक खाने से शरीर में (fluid)  की कमी हो जाती है। रात का खाना 8 बजे खाएँ।एक नियम हमेशा याद रखें ठोस (solid) खाने को चबा कर तरल (liquid) बना कर खाएँ। तरल (liquid) को मुँह में घूँट घूँट पीएँ। खाना ज़मीन पर बैठ कर खाएँ। खाते वक़्त ना तो बात करें और ना ही TV और mobile को देखें। ठोस (solid) भोजन के तुरंत बाद या बीच बीच में जूस या पानी ना लें। भोजन हो जाने के एक घंटे बाद तरल पदार्थ (liquid) ले सकते हैं।

ऐसा करने से हाज़मा कभी ख़राब नहीं होगा।

जानवरों से उपलब्ध होने वाले भोजन वर्जित हैं।

तेल, मसाला, और गेहूँ से परहेज़ करेंगे तो अच्छा होगा। चीनी के जगह गुड़ का सेवन करें।

हफ़्ते में एक दिन उपवास करें। शाम तक केवल पानी लें, प्यास लगे तो ही पीएँ। शाम 5 बजे नारियल पानी लें और 2 घंटे बाद सलाद लें।

Asthma also known as bronchial asthma is a chronic inflammatory condition of the airways which causes obstruction making it difficult for a person to breath.

The best remedies for treating bronchia asthma is a proper lifestyle modification and dietary changes.

 

A good diet for Asthma and every other breathing disorders should contain a good amount of foods with vitamins C, E, antioxidants and omega 3 fatty acids which are mostly present in fruits, vegetables nuts and seeds. 

 

•Have plenty of dark leafy greens, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, and seeds.

•Flaxseeds, walnuts, chia seeds, Brussels sprouts are rich in omega 3 fatty acids which helps ease inflamed airways.

•Have plenty of avocadoes as it contains a compound called glutathione, which helps to detoxify allergens.

•Garlic helps to lower asthma attacks as it inhibits its activity of certain enzymes that generate inflammatory substances. 

•Drinking herbal teas or sipping lukewarm water with honey is helpful. 

•Certain foods, such as chocolates, carbonated beverages, fatty foods, mint, spicy foods and onions should be restricted.

•Dairy products, such as milk, cheese yoghurt and even creamy soups, cheesecake should be restricted or cut off completely.

•Avoid citrus fruits like oranges, grapefruit, lemons and limes they can aggregate the symptoms.

•Avoid smoking and exposure to dusty and cold air.

•Avoid food with artificial colours, sugary or any added preservatives.

•Eat less than the full capacity of the stomach because it can cause gas or bloating and puts pressure on your diaphragm. This may cause chest tightness and trigger asthma flares. These foods include beans, cabbage, carbonated drinks, onion and fried foods.

• During attack apply hot cheat pack. Compress or chest pack for 5-10 minutes daily will help improve the condition.

• Add a drop of eucalyptus oil in a boiling water and take a facial steam. This will help open the nasal passage and ease breathing.

 • Practice yogasanas such as bhujangasa, ardha Matsyendrasana, ushtrasana and pranayama such as Nadi Shodana and kapalabhati. Practising yogasanas and pranayama can help relieve the stress as well which is also responsible for triggering an attack.

दमा-एलर्जी ,मौसम ,गलत खानपान ,उत्तेजक दवाइयों ,वायु प्रदूषण, तनाव क्रोध, ईर्ष्या, चिंता इत्यादि की वजह से हो जाते हैं ।

  • प्रतिदिन सूर्योदय के बाद 45 मिनट धूप में व्यतीत करें इससे शरीर को आवश्यक विटामिन डी की पूर्ति होती है, शरीर के सभी अंग ऊर्जावान बने रहते हैं।
  •  भोजन में 80% मौसमी फल व हरी पत्तेदार कच्ची सब्जियों का प्रयोग करें, इससे भोजन का सही से पाचन ,अवशोषण व मल का निष्कासन होता है ।
  • भोजन से 30 मिनट पहले बैठ कर धीरे धीरे जल का सेवन करें, इससे पर्याप्त मात्रा में पाचक रसों का स्राव होता है ,इससे भोजन का पाचन आसानी से होता है ।
  • प्रतिदिन दोपहर 1:00 से 3:00 के बीच जल का सेवन करें इससे भोजन के पाचन अवशोषण व मल निष्कासन आसानी से होता है क्योंकि इस समय जीवनी शक्ति छोटी आंत में होती है, पानी पीने का यह सर्वोत्तम समय है ।
  • उपवास -(सप्ताह में 1 दिन ) इससे शरीर में स्थित दूषित पदार्थ बाहर निकल जाते हैं ।
  • अनार ,सेब, पपीता, चुकंदर ,करेला ,मूली इत्यादि का सेवन करें दमा में आराम मिलेगा। 
  • प्रतिदिन गुनगुने पानी व नमक से का गरारा करें।
  • प्रतिदिन 45 खजूर का सेवन भोजन के पश्चात करें!
  • कपालभाति, अनुलोम विलोम ,उज्जाई ,सूर्यभेदी ,भ्रामरी प्राणायाम शरीर से अशुद्धियों को बाहर निकालते हैं ,पर्याप्त मात्रा में ऑक्सीजन की आपूर्ति करते हैं, मन शांत रहता है ।

आसन- सर्वांग आसन ,पद्मासन, शरीर, पश्चिमोत्तानासन।

 

निषेध -जानवरों से प्राप्त भोज्य पदार्थ, मैदे से बनी चीजें, दूध व दूध के उत्पाद ,मसालेदार वस्तुएं ,क्रोध , चिंता आलस्य , तनाव ,रात्रि जागरण सोने से 2 घंटे पहले टेलीविजन ,कंप्यूटर व मोबाइल का प्रयोग!
