I’ve read a lot of posts that say avoid milk/dairy. But isn’t yogurt a good probiotic? Also doesn’t it help for digestion too?

Dear user,

We need to first understand what is purpose of milk as per nature. It is SPECIES SPECIFIC TRANSITORY food which is provided by nature till infant is able to eat his food himself. Only HUMAN species drinks milk of any other species and only HUMAN drink beyond infant stage.

By fermenting milk we do not change its nature or purpose.

Any fermented product will have probiotic bacteria which are good for our gut functioning but before that we need to asses are we having right type of foods for our structure. Is our food alkalising or acidifying? please read https://www.wellcure.com/body-wisdom/1/do-you-know-about-the-body-s-acid-alkaline-balance andhttps://www.wellcure.com/body-wisdom/17/understanding-the-what-why-how-of-food-combinations

for better understanding

Hello,

It is said to avoid dairy products because they are for the baby cow not for our digestive system.
And as far as the yogurt as probiotics is concerned, there are many alternatives to that.Any fermented food will complete the need for that.

For having a more clear idea on dairy products, why they should not be used and what can be used for their replacements, please read our body wisdom blog on dairy.

Namaste

Though Yogurt is a good probiotic, it still is an animal product. So all the reasons which support avoidance of dairy are true for avoiding yoghurt too.

You Can make plant based yoghurts. And the best gut health is actually possible with a clean gut. Which can be achieved by adopting a fresh fruits and vegetables based food habit along with a healthy lifestyle. Check this out for more clarification:

To add to what Ankur mentions, our stomach builds an environment of its own based on the alkalinity producing foods - raw foods. It does not need stale food from fermentation to keep itself healthy. Let’s understand the process of fermentation. Basically any food ferments when it’s slowly dying and yeast comes to feed on the sugar in the foods. If grapes are fresh they are alive. If they are dying, they rot and ferment and turn sour. So any dying food is acidic and is filled with diff pathogens that are not creators but causes break down. Someone just decided to make money with the word probiotics. Try to go fully raw and your GUT won’t need any fermented food to keep you healthy. Taste factor has been driving the probiotics not health. Initially these show that it’s working, but it takes time for this to also stale up and eat the rotting foods in the gut and post that it’s only suppressing of symptoms.

Thanks to let me know if you have any questions

Be blessed
