My brother is suffering from cold and cough from last 15 years. He has sometimes also breathing problem. It is something like asthma. What r the precaution and how to cure it.

Dear health seeker Kshitija, 

let me assure you that the disease symptoms  of  cold and cough, can be reversed back to health quite easily, I too  suffered from the same affliction at the age of 20yrs  and I used to carry nasal drops in my pocket whole day long, and  no  medicine of allopathy, homoeopathy and Ayurveda  could set it right. it was such a nightmare to me that made me highly depressed/distressed. But  Divine nature cure came to me as a God sent  opportunity and the affliction left me in  quick little time  the  program followed was as under:
    1. First of all, you will have to cut down on all stimulants like tea, coffee, cola, spicy, condiments , refined, processed, manufactured preserved, milk and its products, sweets,sugar. 
    This alone will  help you to the extent of 50%
2. Basking  in the early morning sun for 30 minutes is another great help  
3..Dry rub or friction bath for 10 minutes followed by cold water bath is very very effective and will also address  the issue 
4. Food habits....you will have to live mainly on fruits and vegetables raw and cooked to the extent of 80% rest 20%will comprise of  some rice and  chapati and coconuts 
6. It is very important for the patients  of cold and cough, to  have  strong lung power to expel out  toxins  lodged there, so go for a brisk walk for 3 to 4 kms every day  alternately do some 100  to 200 skipping in oxygen-rich  environment 
    7..Take a hot foot bath for 25 minutes before going to sleep, this will induce perspiration so very necessary to eliminate toxins, and also induce sound and refreshing sleep ere long all your issues will be over in a month or two

Hello,

Possible reasons for chronic cough and cold 

This chronic cough and cold may be due to some infection or due to some allergy or due to acid reflux or due to sinuses problem. 

What can be done?

Ginger
It has anti inflammatory properties and hence is effective in cough.Add ginger paste to warm water and have this drink twice or thrice a day.

Take steam

Boil some water ,keep it in a big bowl and lean over the bowl,then cover your head with towel.Take steam this way once or twice a day.

Gargle with salt water

Mix salt in warm water and gargle with this water 4-5times a day.

Stay hydrated 

Staying hydrated is also important to get relief from cough and cold.Have fruit juices at room temperature, have coconut water. 

Some hot drinks that will give relief include-

  • Warm water
  • Herbal tea
  • Decaffeinated black tea

Diet

Avoid foods that cause allergy or acid reflux.Some are-

  • Caffeinated drinks
  • Carbonated drinks 
  • Alcohol
  • Spices and spicy foods 
  • Fried foods
  • Oily foods. 

Precautions 

  • Wash your hands regularly. 
  • Avoid stress 
  • Take proper sleep of 7-9hours.
  • Avoid contact with infected people. 
  • Don't share utensils, towel, clothes with anyone.

हेलो,

कारण - पाचन क्रिया का स्वस्थ ना होने से आँत में प्रदाह (inflammation) होता और वह फेफड़ों में संक्रमण पैदा करता है। शरीर में मौजूद मिनरल दूषित होकर कफ में परिवर्तित होते जाते हैं और ऑक्सिजन की मात्रा में आती है।

समाधान - 1. अनुलोम विलोम, आंतरिक कुंभक और बाह्य कुंभक करें। सर्वांगआसन और सूर्य नमस्कार 5 बार करें। दुध या दुध से बना कोई चीज़ ना लें। 

2. नीम के पत्ते का और खीरा पेस्ट अपने पेट पर रखें। 20मिनट तक रख कर साफ़ कर लें।

आप सुबह खीरे का जूस लें, खीरा 1/2 भाग + धनिया पत्ती (10 ग्राम) पीस लें, 100 ml पानी मिला कर पीएँ। यह juice आप कई प्रकार के ले सकते हैं। पेठे (ashguard ) का जूस लें और कुछ नहीं लेना है। नारियल पानी भी ले सकते हैं। बेल का पत्ता 8 से 10 पीस कर I100ml पानी में मिला कर पीएँ। खीरा 1/2 भाग + धनिया पत्ती (10 ग्राम) पीस लें, 100 ml पानी में मिला कर पीएँ। बेल पत्ता 8 से 10 पीस कर 100 ml पानी में मिला कर लें। दुब घास 25 ग्राम पीस कर छान कर 100 ml पानी में मिला कर पीएँ। कच्चे सब्ज़ी का जूस आपका मुख्य भोजन है। जो की आपको ज़बर्दस्त फ़ायदा करेगा।

2 घंटे बाद फल नाश्ते में लेना है। फल को चबा कर खाएँ। इसका juice ना लें।

दोपहर में 12 बजे फिर से कच्चे सब्ज़ी जूस को लें। इसके एक घंटे बाद खाना खाएँ। 

सलाद दोपहर 1बजे सलाद बिना नमक के खाएँ तो अच्छा होगा क्योंकि नमक सलाद के गुणों को कम कर देता है। सलाद में हरे पत्तेदार सब्ज़ी को डालें और नारियल पीस कर मिलाएँ। कच्चा पपीता 50 ग्राम कद्दूकस करके डालें। कभी सीताफल ( yellow pumpkin)50 ग्राम ऐसे ही डालें। कभी सफ़ेद पेठा (ashgurad) 30 ग्राम कद्दूकस करके डालें। ऐसे ही ज़ूकीनी 50 ग्राम डालें।कद्दूकस करके डालें।कभी काजू बादाम अखरोट मूँगफली भिगोए हुए पीस कर मिलाएँ। लाल, हरा, पीला शिमला मिर्च 1/4 हिस्सा हर एक का मिलाएँ। शाम 5 बजे नारियल पानी लें।

खाने में नमक सेंधा ही प्रयोग करें। नमक की मात्रा पके हुए खाने में भी बहुत कम लें। सब्ज़ी पकने बाद उसमें नमक डालें। नमक पका कर या अधिक खाने से शरीर में (fluid)  की कमी हो जाती।

रात के खाने में इस अनुपात से खाना खाएँ 2 कटोरी सब्ज़ी के साथ 1कटोरी चावल या 1रोटी लें। रात 8 बजे के बाद कुछ ना खाएँ, 12 घंटे का (gap) अंतराल रखें। 8बजे रात से 8 बजे सुबह तक कुछ नहीं खाना है।

3. किसी प्राकृतिक चिकित्सक के देख रेख में पहली बार एनिमा लें। एनिमा किट मँगा लें । यह किट ऑनलाइन मिल जाएगा। इससे 100ml पानी गुदाद्वार से अंदर डालें और प्रेशर आने पर मल त्याग करें। ऐसा दिन में एक बार करना है अगले 21 दिनों के लिए। ये करना है ताकि शरीर में उपस्थित विषाणु निष्कासित हो जाये।

4. खाना खाने से एक घंटे पहले नाभि के ऊपर गीला सूती कपड़ा लपेट कर रखें या खाना के 2 घंटे बाद भी ऐसा कर सकते हैं।

नीम के पत्ते का पेस्ट अपने नाभि पर रखें। 20मिनट तक रख कर साफ़ कर लें। मेरुदंड स्नान के लिए अगर टब ना हो तो एक मोटा तौलिया गीला कर लें बिना निचोरे उसको बिछा लें और अपने मेरुदंड को उस स्थान पर रखें।

मेरुदंड (स्पाइन) सीधा करके बैठें। हमेशा इस बात ध्यान रखें और हफ़्ते में 3 दिन मेरुदंड का स्नान करें। 

5. सूर्य उदय के एक घंटे बाद या सूर्य अस्त के एक घंटे पहले का धूप शरीर को ज़रूर लगाएँ। सर और आँख को किसी सूती कपड़े से ढक कर। जब भी लेंटे अपना दायाँ भाग ऊपर करके लेटें ताकि आपकी सूर्य नाड़ी सक्रिय रहे।

6. एक नियम हमेशा याद रखें ठोस (solid) खाने को चबा कर तरल (liquid) बना कर खाएँ। तरल (liquid) को मुँह में घूँट घूँट पीएँ। खाना ज़मीन पर बैठ कर खाएँ। खाते वक़्त ना तो बात करें और ना ही TV और mobile को देखें। ठोस (solid) भोजन के तुरंत बाद या बीच बीच में जूस या पानी ना लें। भोजन हो जाने के एक घंटे बाद तरल पदार्थ (liquid) ले सकते हैं। ऐसा करने से हाज़मा कभी ख़राब नहीं होगा। जानवरों से उपलब्ध होने वाले भोजन छोड़ने से ज़्यादा लाभ होगा।

तेल, मसाला, और गेहूँ से परहेज़ करेंगे तो अच्छा होगा।

Cold and cough over long periods may be due to hyper sensitive membranes in respiratory tract. So Please advice your brother,

  • To take more fruits and vegetables.
  • Especially rich in vitamin C.
  • Include sprouts and raw vegetables to get Vitamins, minerals and micro nutrients.
  • Avoid pollution and wear mask.
  • Avoid tea, coffee, milk and milk products.
  • Avoid fatty and oily fried food items.
  • Avoid non vegetarian food items. 
  • Advise to drink more water, mainly lukewarm water. 
  • Avoid mucus forming food items like banana, cereals and corn etc. 
  • Advice to take dry fruits and seeds like pumpkin seeds which helps to Reduce mucus.
  • Advise to do regular breathing exercises. 
  • Yogasanana and pranayama.
  • Meditation also helps to improve breathing  by rescuing stress. 
  • Physical activities like walking, jogging etc.  Especially swimming.

Hi there, 

Cold and cough are common health problems experienced by almost everyone during any time of the season in a year. It usually last from few days to weeks but heals naturally or with some remedies over a period of days.
It is an indication of your respiratory system trying to expel the toxins or accumulated foreign particles from your body. However, experiencing cough and cold with difficulties in breathing for almost 15 years indicates a chronic respiratory disorder which is a major concern. 
You may seek help from your physician. A proper and thorough medical examination can help understand if there are any underlying conditions for the said problem and for which your doctor can help access the condition. 
Meanwhile, you may follow some of the advice and remedies ;
 

•Add half a teaspoon salt in a glass of warm water, stir it thoroughly and gargle it for several times a day. Salt water gargle is one of the most effective method for treating cough and sore throat.

• Ginger is known for its natural anti-inflammatory properties. Chop a piece of ginger and eat it raw or make a juice or tea and drink it. 

•Avoid citrus fruits like oranges, grapefruit, lemons and limes they can aggravate the symptoms and make the cough worse.

• Warm water sipping is one way to keep yourself hydrated. Dehydration can cause irritation and worsen the condition.

• Add a drop of any herbal oil essential oil such a eucalyptus oil or ginger oil in a boiling water and take a facial steam. It'll help relief the cough and ease the congested airways.

• Avoid sugary foods, oily and spicy foods, processed foods and every other junk foods.

• Alcohol and smoking will worsen the cough and damage the lung tissue . Avoid them.

• Keep yourself warm and active .

Cold and cough are also methods of eliminations from the body. It’s body’s natural response to handle inflammation that was triggered in response to toxaemia / acidity. There are many factors that can lead to breathing issues. It could be stress-based, it could be based on what you inhale that will inflammate the bronchial passage, it could be due to nerve inflammations due to a bad lifestyle, It could also be due to a viral activity.Inhalers can help ease symptoms temporarily, but if you are suffering from chronic asthma and use your inhaler a lot, you may become immune to the steroids at some point. 

See many of these irritants can get accumulated in the lungs and can cling to your bronchial walls and go up and down as you breathe irritating the bronchial tubes. This overtime causes inflammation of the lungs. Mucus is one of the bodies protective mechanisms to trap viruses and other irritants that are entering the body. However in places where the mucus must not be present if you can start accumulating, it can be very hard for the internal organs like the lungs to breathe. We eliminate healthy mucus when we have cold and cough this is because that is bodies natural response to eliminating the virus and accumulation in the body. However mucus starts getting excessively produced in the internal organs such as the gut,  the intestinal walls the lungs where it is unnecessary, If you eat foods that produces excess mucus. Excess mucus putrifies and hardens overtime and refuses to leave the body in all the attempts that the body makes. Such is the time when you will have also have breathing issues. The major root causes of all your problems is having excess animal foods such as dairy eggs meat fish. So elimination of these foods it’s self will ensure that the body makes way to clean itself. Secondly other foods that contribute to such issues are sugar, excess jaggery, the food with excess spices . Medicines play a key role in ensuring that more toxins accumulate because of the chemicals in the medicines.  Medicines are also alien to the body and the effort of suppression of the mucus from coming out leads to further deterioration and worsens the breathing issues and other respiratory issues.

The only way to permanently get a relief from these issues is to follow a wholefood plant-based lifestyle with each food coming only from plants. Gluten here is an exception that you will have to makealthough  it comes from plants we will still have to remove it from our diet. Gluten is present in wheat maida barley oats and all the Rawa that is made from wheat. Do not attempt to eat any of the bakery products which are loaded with transfat. Oil and any greasy foods must be absolutely removed from the diet. 

Once you feel better join a yoga class and learn yoga and pranayama and practitioners.

Follow this :-

Morning on empty stomach 

- 500ml filtered / ash gourd juice / cucumber juice 

- Followed by Green juice or fruit /  any watery vegetable like ashgourd / cucumber / ridge gourd / bottle gourd / carrot / beet with ginger and lime filtered  

- More hunger - tender coconut water or more pure  juice 

Afternoon from 12 :-  

- A bowl of fruits - don’t mix melons and other fruits. Eat melons alone. Eat citrus alone 

- Followed by a bowl of veg salad if needed or more fruits are fine.

- Dinner 2-3 hrs before sleep with Gluten free - millets rice quinoa , oilfree unpolished grains or dals 30% and 70% veggies

- Include some exercises that involves moving all your parts ( neck , shoulder, elbows, wrist , hip bending twisting , squats, knees, ankles ) . Join a yoga or gym and sweat out. We need to eliminate via skin also 

- See if u can go to the morning sun for sometime in a day 30 mins atleast. It’s v imp for healing 

- Ensure that you are deep asleep between 10-2 which is when the body needs deep sleep. 

- Place a wet cloth on your tummy for 30 mins daily if time permits to improve the blood circulation in the gut and heal faster 

What to Avoid :- 

- Avoid refined oils, fried food , packaged ready to eat foods, dairy in any form including ghee, refined salt and sugar , gluten , refined oils , coooking with oil, medicines

- Avoid mental stress by not thinking about things you cannot control. Present is inevitable. Future can be planned. Stay happy. Happiness is only inside yourself .
