Eat a lot of fruits DAILY: Yes lots means lots. 2-3 full rounds in morning and a good helping in evening snacks (instead of anything cooked at that time). Now a days at our home, breakfast time means fruit time.
Even for Dev, start of day is with fruits and soaked dry fruits. As a rule, his morning and evening snacks are all fruit based! :)
Eat fruits alone: Be sure to eat fruits alone not with a meal. Fruits digest very quickly, and when eaten with other food groups which take longer to digest fruits just sit in stomach and fester. So all the goodness turns counter productive. 30 minutes is what fruit needs to digest so 30 minutes prior to a meal or 2 hours after a full meal is good time to eat fruits.
Add more raw, live, fresh foods to your regular routine:
This would be step by step, but a good habit to build.
Raw foods include raw vegetables as salads, or lightly steamed, nuts, seeds and sprouts.
veg juices is another option but this is usually a tough one to pull off in a busy life.
So a better and easier way to do this is make raw vegetable based salads a part of each meal time (lunch & dinner). Good large hearty portions (Do not add fruits here) .
Another way to do this simply is add back Indian, homemade nut based chutneys. So any peanut, coconut or cashew chutney not only adds taste and oomph to meals, it also provides the much needed material for our body to build and repair (Nuts and seeds). If you are short of time just keep these handy in your kitchen cabinet and sprinkle liberally in salads:
Roasted Til (Sesame seeds)
Peanuts raw or roasted
Coconut – are some easy ways to increase your nuts
Keep off dairy: You may look at keeping dairy off for 3 – 6 months and see if you feel any difference. If you feel the need, go with nutmilks. Today's dairy is infested with hormones and antibiotics, and has a very significant impact on our body's internal hormonal system. Hairfall is very deeply linked to the health of our endocrine system. Do not do this just because I am saying, explore and read up about dairy more.
Look at nature, we are the only species, which drinks milk of another species, the key question is do we need to do so especially in our adult lives?

Hello , in the future we will have a journey published in Wellcure on alopecia. One of the major reasons for alopecia is severe harmonal fluctuations and a bad gut.
Rapid aging of the cells/ poor quality is due to toxaemia or accumulation of toxins also affects the hair and scalp because they multiply rapidly compared to other cells in the body. It depends on the internal health of the individual. The way to improve the quality is to ensure to eat foods that don’t consume a lot of digestion ( raw food ) and lead a holistic life that does not have stress / negativity emotionally. Depression medication also leads to this issue of you have had it in the past. Balanced exercises, exposure to natural elements like sun / ground / good breathing etc. This is a lifestyle and it tAkes time to see the effect on hair. It takes few yrs. Scalp health/ hair unlike other organs are not so Essential for survival .. so body tends to focus on healing the most important ones and come to the less imp ones later . Meanwhile we can try to avoid all forms of chemicals from Touching the hair and skin like soaps shampoos of all forms and stick to home made products.
Check this hair wash / body wash / handwash recipe that I use. I don’t have a lot of grey hair when compared to my peers. People have given a good feedback after using it
http://www.wellcure.com/recipes/163/healthy-and-natural-hair-wash
Emotional stress also affects the quality of hair. Do the right things and over time the results also will be seen.
Massage your scalp with warm castor oil every week.
Take bath with cold water on the head and not hot
Practice inverted headstand yogasana that helps in blood flow tothe brain
Practice pranayama regularly
Please read hair health listed in Wellcure’s Body Wisdom section.

Sleep and Rest – you cannot undermine this at all especially when facing an auto immune challenge. Is your body getting enough downtime to process, unload repair and restore what’s needed. Nature has inbuilt a wonderful mechanism of ‘cure’ within our bodies but this gets activated only if the input of rest and sleep is well and balanced.
Are you sleeping in line with nature’s rhythm i.e early to bed and early to rise.
Are you sleeping deep enough – if not you could look at taking steps to improve your sleep quality including winding down at night before sleep and meditation & breathing.
Are you active and doing exercise in morning ? You will be surprised at how much this will positively impact in cleansing your internally clogged systems, bettering your sleep and ensuring you are in touch with nature each day.
All auto immune disorder is due to prolonged bad lifestyle. Lifestyle, here means our daily practices are not in tune with how nature meant it. Thus the food we eat is more processed less natural, whole, fresh and in tune with nature’s design for us. Similarly, in terms of sleep, our daily lifestyle habits may be one of cutting down on sleep, always being on the go, not resting enough and not allowing body to do its very important work of restoring and healing. Shifting to healthy lifestyle which is in rhythm of nature has the power to reverse all such diseases. So identify the bad food and make intelligent informed choice of food, drink adequate water, sunbathing for an hour daily and exercise for an hour daily.

Hi, do note that excessive falling of hair (alopecia) indicates a very strong signal for really taking a good look at what is going into your body in terms of
Food
Sleep & Rest
Emotions and thoughts
Sun & Air (Are you soaking enough sun, are you active and exercising daily to allow fresh air into your system)
Processed foods enter into our daily habits without us even knowing how deeply ingrained they are into our lifestyle. Sauces, store bought masalas, pickles, chips/ kurkure , refined oil, refined sugar, maida, any food which has long shelf life - are all forms of refined foods. If in your home you are buying a lot of grocery / market bought packaged foods – it is an indication that your foods are not natural.
As a input, our body absorbs food better in their whole unrefined state. So do incorporate a lot of fruits & vegetables in your weekly intakes. This could be in form of whole, raw as cut fruits, salads, steamed veg (instead of cooked veggies).
Reduce your intake of heavy food groups such as milk, non veg and grains ensure there is a good balanced profile of all food groups.
Remove ALL packaged foods from your system – this is easier said than done, but not impossible either.
Dairy – you could keep this off for next 3- 6 months completely, and if worried on calcium intake – remember our body does not extract only one nutrient from a food group. You could look at increasing your whole nuts intake esp that of sesame and grains such as Ragi.
