Hello. My mother was diagnosed with diabetes, thyroid and kidney stone. She is 43 yrs old. The sugar level sometimes touches 400 and sometimes it goes to 80-90. Will it be ok to do operation of kidney stone of a diabetic patient? And what will be the best diet and solution overall?

Diabetes by definition means that she has excess sugar in her blood. The sugar ideally is used up by the trillions of cells in her body. However, due to her lifestyle, her cells have already got loaded with enough toxins and fats and hence they have shut their doors for the glucose. Whatever she consumes will be converted to glucose predominantly. So she may not know the art of fasting yet and cannot live like Gandhiji by not eating anything because the body makes glucose. This blood with all the extra glucose is continuously filtered by the kidneys more than 300 times an hour. So the filters of her kidneys become like tea filter that does not get washed daily after filtering a milk tea. Over time they get clogged and start the process of kidney stones.
Kidneys are one of the 5 major excretory organs with a vital function in the body. They clean the blood at least 300 times per hr. They excrete the metabolic waste from the blood including medicines and bad food wastes. People who consume medicine stimulants like tea, coffee, tax their kidneys considerably. Wastes like Urea, Uric acid, and creatinine and byproduct’s of metabolic waste from excess proteins, excess salts, excess sugar ( due to sugar or carbs metabolism that did not get used by the cells in cases of diabetes and glycosuria( expelling glucose from urine), excess acids from the blood that was generated to keep the blood alkaline, bad habits like excess water everything is expelled by the kidneys.
Due to wrong living habits over a long period of time, kidneys filters get clogged and inflamed and develop congestion. If you don’t wash your tea filter, then imagine what happens to your tea? It remains outside the filter and can’t be filtered to the mug. To remove that plaque, you need to take extra steps, isn’t it? So your mother has a lot of waste in the blood that is constantly getting collected and poor filters are still working. If she continues her current living habits of food medicines or various aspects like this, it can lead to CKD or chronic kidney disease and in such cases, dialysis will be the only way bcoz a machine will need to filter the blood and be sent back to the body bcoz the kidneys have lost their ability to filter. God has been very grateful and gave us 2 kidneys, but we have been misusing his generosity. It’s very important that she realizes that her lifestyle has to change drastically - 180degree Ulta direction to recover from this condition and it’s definitely possible. We hardly have cases that have naturally recovered from a dialysis level, but we do have people who have recovered from stones.
So like I said kidneys get inflamed ( swollen ) and bleeding can also happen. Stones and other injuries are common.
Stones is an occurrence where the inhibitors of the formation of crystals are not present or have been less because of living conditions. So this pebble-like concentration is usually composed of mineral salts. Such people in the initial stages if their urine was collected as a sample would have found pus and blood also. Gravels can also be seen. It’s not an overnight symptom when she experienced this even for the first time. Stones have continued to become larger and larger. In many cases, these are passed via the bladder. Until it reaches the bladder there is pain and once it’s in the bladder pain reduces. Sometimes if the lifestyle is not changed the stone can become bigger and bigger to even come to the bladder. This damages the mucosa lining in the kidneys.
Even if it’s surgically removed, the body condition is still capable of producing stones because the lymphatic is still toxic and thick.
The body must be about 80% alkaline and only 20% acidic. If we become too acidic because of our diet and lifestyle, we create a condition that leads to stone formation and inflammation.
To reverse this, we need to alkalize and make it anti-inflammatory. This will break and liquify the calcium deposits, cellulite and lipid / fat-based stones. You will need a diet rich in raw fruits, and vegetables. If not, you won’t get the alkaline electrolytes to neutralize the acids. Dehydration also compounds the acidosis in the body.
Until the stones melt:-Go on a 100% raw fruit and vegetable diet or to make it deeper and faster - go on a 100% fruit diet. Along with this around 2-3 liters of fruit juices and vegetable juices.
Long term lifestyle changes:-
Avoid meat dairy milk, tea, coffee, curd, ghee, paneer, cheese, butter, sugar. Use jaggery, salt moderately in cooked only. O Outside packaged foods, sweets, oily foods, maida, refined oils, white rice, unpolished foods, wheat, and maida.
Start with a green leafy juice mixed with a watery vegetable like cucumber or ash gourd in the morning with ginger and lime- 500ml.
Fruits for breakfast till 12.
Vegetable salads with lots of greens and no nuts for lunch.
Mildly spiced cooked gluten-free, an oil-free meal with 30% grains and 70% veggies.
Things will be better and stones will not form over time. Please see a nature cure practitioner if symptoms are severe.
This will help her heal her diabetes and thyroid too. Although it will help if I can talk to her and help her understand her current lifestyle. Treatment Method For Diabetes
The global prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus among adults over 18 years of age has risen from 4.7% in 1980 to 8.5% in 2014 as per WHO reports. This health condition is very much leaned towards the South East Asia Region due to wrong or faulty lifestyles. Diabetes prevalence has been rising more rapidly in middle- and low-income countries.
Diabetes is a major cause of blindness, kidney failure, heart attacks, stroke, and lower limb amputation if not taken care of at the early stages.
There are various types of diabetes but the most common are type 1, type 2 and gestational (during pregnancy).
Type 1 diabetes: here the body’s immune system is not functioning properly and attacks the beta cells of the pancreas that produce insulin. This type of diabetes is often seen in families.
Type 2 diabetes: cells that respond to insulin become resistant (desensitized) to it. Insulin is what safely transports the sugar into our cells, so this means that diabetics who are untreated will have elevated blood sugar. Here the inflammation could be found in almost all systems, namely nerves, kidneys, and the cardiovascular system will be the first organ systems to get damaged, but in some cases, it could involve another system too and could be dangerous as well. Here damage to insulin-producing cells due to Pancreatitis is a common feature.
Gestational: whereby a woman becomes diabetic during her pregnancy this is more common than you’d think because women often crave sugar when they’re pregnant.
The main objective in naturopathic treatment of diabetes is to reduce high levels of glucose in the blood and ensure the overall well-being of the patient utilizing natural therapies such as diet, exercise, nutritional supplements and herbs.
Diabetes, as you know, is a metabolic disorder that should be treated with a strict diet regime along with a considerate amount of physical activity or exercises. Following a healthy plant-based diet can effectively help control your blood sugar.
• Always go for a whole plant-based diet which includes ample fruits, vegetables, seeds, and nuts. High fibrous fruits and vegetables such as peas, beans, broccoli, spinach, and dark leafy vegetables should be included in one's diet.
Also, pulses with husk and sprouts are a healthy option and should be part of the diet. Brans, cereals, oats meals, millets, seeds should be an essential part of your diet.
• Omega 3 fatty acids should be consumed as they have a beneficial effect on blood sugar and many other cardiovascular diseases. Natural sources for these are flaxseed, chia seeds, and walnuts, etc. These are also low in cholesterol and are trans fat-free.
• One teaspoon of fenugreek seeds (methi) soaked overnight in 100 ml of water is very effective in controlling diabetes. Fenugreek seeds are high in soluble fibre, which helps lower blood sugar by slowing down digestion and absorption of carbohydrates.
• You may also consume some almonds (soaked overnight) which is also helpful in keeping a check on diabetes.
• Never skip your breakfast. Add whole grains, cereals, along with some herbal tea or juice for your breakfast.
• Bittergourd juice; Make fresh bitter gourd juice and drink it two times a day.
• Exercise is very important in order to maintain the blood glucose level. Utilize an hour or two on physical activity or exercises daily such as walking, jogging, brisk walk, etc.
• Some yogasanas and pranayama recommended for diabetes are dhanurasana, mandukhasana, ardhamatsyndrasana, naukasana, navasana, kapalabhati, ujjayi and bhramari pranayama. Practice them under the guidance of a qualified practitioner.
Treatment For Kidney Stones:
Kidney stones may be formed when your urine contains some of the crystal-forming substances — such as calcium, oxalate and uric acid and these stones could cause discomfort or sharp pain when you urinate. These substances may lack substances which prevent the crystals that stick or bound together and this leads to many stones which could be moving in your urinary tract and could cause problems when you pass urine. In some cases, this could cause even inflammation or infection when these stones rupture the mucosal layer of the urinary tract.
Here the Kidney stones might have aroused due to some prolong use of some medications used for Diabetes. You are caught in a fix where you cant reduce or cut down your medications unless your physician gives a green signal for it. You need to find solutions how to manage it naturally
Foods that prevent formation of Kidney Stones are:
Drink plenty of water: Drinking lot quantity of water dilutes the substances in urine that lead to stones. Make a habit to drink more amount of water at least 2-3 litres which could benefit.
Get the calcium you need: Consuming too little calcium in your diet could increase the oxalate levels to rise and cause kidney stones. It is advised that men over the age of 50 and older should get 1,000 milligrams (mg) of calcium per day, along with 800 to 1,000 international units (IU) of vitamin D to help the body absorb the calcium.
Reduce sodium: A high-sodium intake in the diet could trigger the formation of kidney stones because the sodium could increase the amount of calcium in your urine. So a low-sodium diet is always recommended for the stone prone.
Reduce the intake of animal protein: Consuming high quantities of animal proteins, such as red meat, poultry, eggs, and seafood, boosts the level of uric acid and could lead to kidney stones.
Avoid stone-forming foods: Consuming beetroots, chocolates, spinach, coffee, tea, and most nuts that are rich in oxalate, and colas are rich in phosphate, may increase the risk of forming kidney stones.
Consumption of Plantain pith Juice:
Plantain pith juice is one of the best remedy for those suffering from kidney stones. Plantain pith is taken and made into small slices and made into juice with a help of a mixer grinder and filtered and consumed. It might be consumed 2-3 times daily which could stimulate the elimination of these stones
Consumption of Horse Gram:
Consumption of horse gram either through soup or stew could also help in dissolving these stones
Treatment For Thyroid
- Include gluten-free grains and seeds in diet, brown rice, chia seeds, flax seeds and quinoa.
- Take regular sleep of 7-8 hrs.
- Avoid stress by doing Yoga and meditation.
- Maintain a low carbohydrate diet.
- Regular Neck exercise helps for the normal function of the thyroid gland.
- Practice asana especially Sarvangasana, sethu bandhasana, Halasana, dhanurasana, bhujangasan, matsyasana, matsyendrasana chakrasana.
- Practice pranayam like nadi shuddhi, Ujjayi and Bhramari.
My suggestion - It would be best advised to get your mom treated at a Naturopathic Health centre under a registered Naturopath ( BNYS ) as the condition is bit complex to do all these at home for qualitative health care

शरीर पाँच तत्व से बना हुआ है प्रकृति की ही तरह।
आकाश, वायु, अग्नि, जल, पृथ्वी ये पाँच तत्व आपके शरीर में रोज़ खुराक की तरह जाना चाहिए।
पृथ्वी और शरीर का बनावट एक जैसा 70% पानी से भरा हुआ। पानी जो कि फल, सब्ज़ी से मिलता है।

2 वायु तत्व- लंबा गहरा स्वाँस अंदर भरें और रुकें। इसके बाद फिर पूरे तरीक़े से स्वाँस को ख़ाली करें, रुकें, फिर स्वाँस अंदर भरें। ये एक चक्र हुआ। ऐसे 10 चक्र एक समय पर करना है। ये दिन में चार बार करें। खुली हवा में बैठें या टहलें।
3 अग्नि तत्व- सूर्य उदय के एक घंटे बाद या सूर्य अस्त के एक घंटे पहले का धूप शरीर को ज़रूर लगाएँ। सर और आँख को किसी सूती कपड़े से ढक कर। जब भी लेंटे अपना दायाँ भाग ऊपर करके लेटें ताकि आपकी सूर्य नाड़ी सक्रिय रहे।र
4 जल तत्व- खाना खाने से एक घंटे पहले नाभि के ऊपर गीला सूती कपड़ा लपेट कर रखें या खाना के 2 घंटे बाद भी ऐसा कर सकते हैं।
नीम के पत्ते का पेस्ट अपने नाभि पर रखें। 20मिनट तक रख कर साफ़ कर लें। मेरुदंड स्नान के लिए अगर टब ना हो तो एक मोटा तौलिया गीला कर लें बिना निचोरे उसको बिछा लें और अपने मेरुदंड को उस स्थान पर रखें।
मेरुदंड (स्पाइन) सीधा करके बैठें। हमेशा इस बात ध्यान रखें और हफ़्ते में 3 दिन मेरुदंड का स्नान करें।
5 पृथ्वी- सब्ज़ी, सलाद, फल, मेवे, आपका मुख्य आहार होगा। आप सुबह खीरे का जूस लें, खीरा 1/2 भाग + धनिया पत्ती (10 ग्राम) पीस लें, 100 ml पानी मिला कर पीएँ। यह juice आप कई प्रकार के ले सकते हैं। पेठे (ashguard ) का जूस लें और कुछ नहीं लेना है। नारियल पानी भी ले सकते हैं। बेल का पत्ता 8 से 10 पीस कर I100ml पानी में मिला कर पीएँ। दुब घास 25 ग्राम पीस कर छान कर 100 ml पानी में मिला कर पीएँ। सब्ज़ी का जूस आपका मुख्य भोजन है। जो की आपको ज़बर्दस्त फ़ायदा करेगा। 2 घंटे बाद फल नाश्ते में लेना है। फल को चबा कर खाएँ। इसका juice ना लें।
दोपहर में 12 बजे फिर से कच्चे सब्ज़ी जूस को लें। इसके एक घंटे बाद खाना खाएँ।शाम को 5 बजे सफ़ेद पेठे (ashguard) 20 ग्राम पीस कर 100 ml पानी मिला। 2 घंटे तक कुछ ना लें। रात के सलाद में हरे पत्तेदार सब्ज़ी को डाले। ताज़ा नारियल मिलाएँ। रात का खाना 8 बजे खाएँ।
लाल, हरा, पीला शिमला मिर्च 1/4 हिस्सा हर एक का मिलाएँ। इसे बिना नमक के खाएँ, बहुत फ़ायदा होगा। पृथ्वी तत्व को शरीर में डालने का एक नियम हमेशा याद रखें ठोस (solid) खाने को चबा कर तरल (liquid) बना कर खाएँ। तरल (liquid) को मुँह में घूँट घूँट पीएँ। खाना ज़मीन पर बैठ कर खाएँ। खाते वक़्त ना तो बात करें और ना ही TV और mobile को देखें। ठोस (solid) भोजन के तुरंत बाद या बीच बीच में जूस या पानी ना लें। भोजन हो जाने के एक घंटे बाद तरल पदार्थ (liquid) ले सकते हैं। ऐसा करने से हाज़मा कभी ख़राब नहीं होगा। जानवरों से उपलब्ध होने वाले भोजन छोड़ने से ज़्यादा लाभ होगा।
तेल, मसाला, और गेहूँ से परहेज़ करेंगे तो अच्छा होगा।
