Hello Superna,

It is good to know that after the bulge episode you feel better now, the most important advice we need to emphasize is this is the time that you can choose to take a lifestyle which will help you in the long term and protect from these episodes of pain.

The herniation, which means the bulging of the disc happens due to the weakening of our bones. Wear tear is a chronic process which is the mixture of both our bad diet which is filled with the unneeded amounts of fats as well as postural issues. But with correct diet and exercise, you can not only combat the pain but also can help yourself for long term measures.

Here are a few pointers which you can keep in mind in order to heal.

Eat:

• Avoid alcohol, cigarettes, packaged food.

• Include calcium-rich food and increase vitamin D intake to support bone health.

• Practice a diet that is rich in fruits, raw vegetables, and whole grains that will help in the treatment.

• Limit fats, animal products, processed or mixed foods, and try to drink eight to 10 glasses of water each day.

The best thing you can start having is vegetable juice in the morning, this helps in easy absorption of nutrients, a glass of green vegetable juice helps in absorbing calcium a lot. Even nuts and seeds like chia and flax are good sources of calcium to increase your bone density.

Exercise:

  • Daily physical activity is crucial for people with this disease. This can reduce pain and also improve your mobility, posture and helps you maintain your flexibility.
  • Practicing good posture can help prevent spinal fusion in a stooped or deformed position which happens after cervical disc bulge. Posture exercises should be practiced daily to have the best impact on the cervical to the back spine.
  • Sitting on a chair, look in the front, flex your neck downwards bring it to center, extend upwards bring it to center. Then slowly rotate. Do this set 10 times in order to increase circulation and your flexibility is maintained and pain is controlled.
  • Massage can help you achieve that perfect mobility despite your disease. Massaging for 15-20 minutes is very important to improve blood circulation in that area. Massage with coconut or almond oil by warming it.

Meditation:

  • Practice mindful meditation.
  • Deal with your stress.
  • Allow positivity to be part of your life.

Doing a 15-minute exercise before sleep like deep breathing will help in relaxing your mind, you can use music also for relaxation. A calm mind will lead to a healthier body.

Sleep:

Sleeping for at least 7-8 hours is very important in order to completely relax. In sleep what our body does is go through is the process of repair. Relax your self by taking a water bowl, add 2-3 drops of essential oil, like orange and lavender which will help in relaxing the sleep. This will aid in treating any kind of disease.

It is time to make ourselves healthier without disease hampering our growth.

Hopefully, these suggestions will help.

Thank you
