What are the closest but healthy replacements for regular tea? I know the sugar and dairy part is not healthy but we have got addicted to its morning routine and taste. Need help to get out of its habit.

I have not been taking milk/sugar(cheeni)/honey since 6th Dec 2018. I use gurh as substitute.

For me a simple herbal tea has worked wonders.  Tulsi leaves, Cinnamon stick, adarak, and a luang.  Boil it well in 1-1/2 cup of water.  Strain it in a cup.  If you are craving tea - then you can add just a bit of tea leaves in the strainer and  strain through it (it will add the aroma and color of tea).  Add some drops of lemon and a spoon of honey if you want

I was once offerred Mint tea at Ladakh in my home stay - which was very yummy too.  Simply boiled water kept in a flask with pudina leaves! I loved its simplicity

Also if you cannot give up your chai in morning do not worry - just ensure you start your day with a fruit / soaked raisins.  Have your tea about 30-45 minutes later.  Eventually the shift will happen!

I started taking a brew of cardamom, cinnamon, clove, ginger and pepper with gud. I was a heavy tea drinker. Any excuse was enough to drink tea! I do not have the craving at all!
In winter i used to consume more tea. I tried to substitute with hot water but the craving never went. Strangely with this brew, i take only twice a day, sometimes thrice and haven't felt the desire to drink tea. And what's more, even if i need to drink socially, the craving hasn't returned. Hope this helps

A quick herbal tea has worked really well for me. Simply add herbs/spices of your choice - cinnamon/black pepper/elaichi/clove/oregano/tulsi/ginger etc. and boil in fresh water. Strain and enjoy. Could add jaggery/honey for sweetness.

When it comes to tea, I think it’s more about the mental block than anything else. As for options - simply sipping on a cup of hot water with some lemon in it is also an option!! Do it for a few days and u’ll be sorted.
