Hello

Vanilla extract  and vanilla essnce are both different. The extract is directly extracted from natural beans. The extract is more expensive. The vanilla essence is a synthetic compound. It’s always advisable to read the labels before buying to determine which one is natural and which one is synthetic. The synthetic one is usually very cheap.

Yes Anchal and the pods vanilla flavour is also almost musky and not even close to natural. For health reasons it’s best to stick to Indian spices. I know many people who do pastes / we do get pastes in amazon, but they cost a bomb plus hand and leg both.

Its ₹30 for essence vs ₹900 for 90 ml for extract. Extracts also are of two types. One has alcohol as a preservative and one may not have. That’s even more expensive. Less goes a long way in the latter. For a healthy diet always use Indian spices like nutmeg and cardamom to spice up the sweet dishes. It’s a lot better that way.

Recently I bought vanilla pods from an organic shop. Instructions said slit open the stick and take out the paste. But the stick was so hard, forget slitting, I could barely manage to break it. So disappointing!!
