Read moreYes, it is understandable since so many of us have the same problem.
I would suggest the following -
- Cultivate a garden and spend time tending to it with your family. It is the best teacher and relaxer
- Bring nature into your home - Grow many indoor plants which not only cools your home but also makes your home more inviting
- Choose to go for holidays to somewhere remote or to the countryside instead of the normal busy, tourist attractions
- Go hug a tree or sit down on your lawn and read your book
- Step onto your terrace or balcony in the early morning or late evening and watch the birds going home, see the greeery around, breathe in the fresh quality of air at these times
- Switch off your TVs, phones etc and listen to the sounds of nature - the sounds of brds, insects, rustling of leaves. the sound of water etc
- Sketch the changing colours of seasons in your sketchbook as you view it
- Make collections of different things you notice in every season - ex: fallen leaves in autumn, seeds of various flowers
- Enjoy getting drenched in rains with your child and the fresh smells the first rain brings or just watch the rain through your window
- Adopt a dog so that you are forced to go out :)
In short, enjoy nature with all your senses. Most importantly, let us all preserve it so that our future generation can also enjoy the sights and smells we enjoyed in our childhood.
Here are some tips :-
1) Offlate workplaces do have a greener gardens. Take a break for 5 mins and walk close to the pots or grass. Smell the beautiful air around the greens.
2) Pick up a caffeine and tannin free dip from home ( organic India has a some tulsi based instant tea that does not have green tea in them.) and stand out in the sun and sip it for 5 mins.
3) If you can see the blue sky from your home, wake up early morning and breathe that fresh air and spend few mins appreciating the creations around you that you may not have noticed. Spend few secs in gratitude
4) adopt a healthier eating habit that involves eating more raw foods like fruits veggies and greens without bothering about recipes. Appreciate the flavours they carry. They would be sweet/ salty/ tangy/ sour/bitter. Think about how complex it is to create such flavours if there was no reference to us. Appreciate the wonderful food nature has in store for us that needs no cooking time but has a well balanced nutrition to it.
5) Buy some pots with plants that don’t need to be cared for , that don’t attract pests to help in your busy life. They will make you realize that there is so much selflessness around us in nature even in plants that offer so much green to our eyes and yet does not expect a lot of water too. Some of the crotons survive without few days of water too.
6) when you water the plants, take a minute to bend down and smell the wet earth. It smells like heaven right there.
In essence although we are so busy to pay attention to nature, its always ready to go that extra mile to give you the feelings you missed in the busy schedule.
Overall, someone told me, there is no meaning to the word “busy”. It has no metric. It only means we don’t prioritise well they said.
Be blessed and hope these help.
Hei Abhilasha , yeah life is more exhausting now days than previous times . More we walked away from nature , more we got close to sickness .
No matter how busy the life is one must get some time to appreciate nature and soak in its beauty .
One can enjoy nature if he/ she follows following disciples in life :-
1. Waking up 15 min earlier than the normal schedule and bask in sunlight .
2.On every weekend one can visit a near by park with the family.
3.Having plants at home and making it a ritual to water them daily is a great therapy for mind .
4.One can keep indoor plants in their lobbies and bedrooms . This will help in good quality sleep too.
Stay active Stay healthy ❤️
