Namaste

1 Get physically active. Involve in some physical activity that can get all your bone joints into action. The best option today would be learning and practising yoga or working part time in a garden or farm.

2 Stick to a healthy plant based diet. Eat human specific diet that is plant based food with is mostly raw. Like fresh locally grown seasonal fruits and vegetables.

3 Remove all types of processed food.

4 Sleep and rest well.

These common misconceptions have become common unfortunately. Middle age people with backproblems have become common because by the time they get to middle age they have enough lifestyle issues that the body gets to battle.

Its best to understand that the future is not going to be any easier if corrections are not made now. I would advice changing to a whole food plant based lifestyle with focus on more raw, addressing to avoid stress emotionally and physically. Having a good nights sleep, making time for exercises. Such simple steps will make the trend of ‘middle age people with back problems’ a little uncommon and help the future generation to not repeat the same mistakes we are doing. Be blessed

Hi Abhilasha,

A general answer to this is really difficult without evaluating the individual's living habits, environment and genetics.

Though, spinal care is one of the major aspects of a healthy lifestyle.

Alongwith right food (including the exposures to the sun, fresh air and pure water), a physically active lifestyle, proper resting habit and mental poise, one needs to keep the spine in balance always.

The Spine is the central axis of our body, it should carry the equal weight, both the side in every posture of ours.
Spinal therapies including, chiropratic adjustments, spinal bath and hip bath are to be opted on a regular basis to give relaxation to our spine and conserve a lot of vitality.

Thank you...

First and foremost the spinal cord of an one year old child or a 100 years old adult is always as new as factory made.

Backaches occur in two regions - neck (cervical region) and lower back (Lumbar spine - L1, L2, L3, L4, L5). These two regions are junction points from where nerves branch off to the other parts of the body. I am purposely avoiding medical terms, suffice to understand that these two junction points are like the busiest crossroad in your city.

If you look at the above two pictures of Dhaula Kuan Junction, the top image is about 25 years old and the bottom part shows the present day Clover which has greatly helped in the flow of the traffic. I remember having taken a DTC bus from Delhi railway station, got down at Dhaula Kuan junction opposite the DSOI and boarded another bus for Jaipur, circa 1994. This is what happens at the the two junction points (neck and lower spine) as we grow up. The body is able to create the clusters of nerves to enable smooth flow of signals from our organs to brain.

Neck Junction. The organs above the diaphragm form the junction in neck region. The parts of the body that is controlled through this are heart, lungs, both the arms, neck and face.

Lower Spine Junction. The body below the diaphragm form their junction in the lower spine region. The parts of the body cntrolled through this is stomach, intestines, kidneys, spleen, pancreas, sexual organs, complete digestive system and both the legs.

Pain. The manifestation of pain is due to toxin accumulation in the body. For example any respiratory congestion or lung infection requires body's immune system to act to heal the affected part. This will certainly increase the nerve action, this increased in nerve simulation will increase the flow of signals in the neck region and hence the pain. Similarly any accumulation of toxins in digestion or sexual organs region will manifest pain in lower spine.

Cure. The cure lies in keeping the body toxin free................simple and yet very difficult. An holistic balanced lifestyle is ideal to keep the Spine pain free. Please incorporate these simple steps into your lifestyle:

1. Spinal Cord Exercise Daily for half an hour. This may be a simple yoga asana, surya namaskar, simple bending forward, backward and sideways or simple 50 sit-ups, the idea is to be conscious about it and do it daily for half an hour.

2.Paidalajin. (Click to view Youtube VideoPaida means clapping and lajin means strectching. Please google and learn about paidalajin, there are good Youtube videos too. Paidalajin is simple stretching exercise of placing one legs vertical and other leg below. Please watch the youtube video and practice paidalajin daily.

3.SunbathingDaily one hour sunbathing.

4. Food. Balanced diet is the key. best and easy is to increase fruits and raw vegetables to 50% of your daily diet.

5. Deep Breathing. One hour daily.

6.Neck Exercises. (Click to view Youtube Video) These are simple neck exercises that will greatly help you, what is most important is to do it daily.
