Suggest some natural remedies for conjunctivitis (pink eye).

Namaste Ji,

Conjunctivitis may occur due to a viral or bacterial infection. It may be also caused by allergic reactions triggered by substances like pollens, cosmetics or certain chemicals. Additionally, it may occur due to an autoimmune disorder.

Person will have Red eye, Watering of the eyes frequently.

This is occured due to  pitta and kapha doshas. Over heat in the body gets aggravated in the eye, it starts attacking the fire element from the eye and turns it into a watery eye.

Eyes should be washed with clean water and wiped by clean towel to protect them from infections. Use of dirty cloth pieces, handkerchiefs or towels for cleaning eyes should be avoided.

Including immunity boosting foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables and salads.

Take easily digestible and light foods.

Avoid watching Tv or Mobiles for longer period. Sleep on time.

Weekly twice take oil head bath to reduce heat in the body. Seasame oil or coconut oil is the best.

Best Natural remedy is;

Boil 1 tablespoonful of Coriander seeds powder or 1 small bowl of freshly cut coriander leaves in 2 glasses of water. Reduce it to half and let it cool. Use this solution to wash your eyes 3-4 times a day.

It usually results into inflammation that can be at times irritating as well as painful.Here you can definitely go for a cold compress as it eases the above mentioned effects.Warm compress help too
Salt water or saline one is beneficial as it is something very natural and hence has no side effects,it has antimicrobial functioning and hence remove the infection. Tea bags can be fruitful too.
Also along with the remedies some basic points to remember are avoid activities that gives strain to your eyes.Take ample rest and also avoid direct contact with another person.Avoid touching your hands directly to the eyes and if your wear contact lenses or even spectacles make sure they are clean and keep your eyes away from irritants like dirt and dust.

1 Take a break from all electronic gadgets that tire your eyes.

2 You may apply castor oil like Kajal in your eyes. It helps remove the dirt from your eyes. 

3 You May apply a grated carrot patch. 

4 Wash your eyes with water and pinch of salt in it every couple of hours.

Saltwater may irritate the skin. Normal cool water is recommended. A better option will be to use pure rose water diluted with cool water. The key here is frequency. So, do wash eyes every 1-2 hours.
