I have neck pain please tell me something to overcome it.

Namaste,

Since when you are suffering from Neck pain?

After waking up from the Bed or sitting for a longer period of time?

If so then do simple neck rotating excercise for 5 times round the clock and neck up and down 5 times. This will help to overcome your Pain.

If there is a neck spasam apply Heat or ice pack in the painful area.

Some time Cervical Spondylosis chances are there by pain at the back of the neck.

Adopt Dhanurasan and Ujjai Pranayam are highly recommended for Neck pain.

if Stiffness in the neck, gently massage with lukewarm sesame oil.

When ever there is pain in any part of the body the immediate step to heal it is rest. Pain means damage + repair. So when ever there is damage or tightness due to any reason the body immediately goes into repair mode. So unless there is pain you wouldn’t realise there’s some issue and that you need to support the body to sort that issue out. So it is your messenger from the body to mind to tell you to slow down and go into rest mode.

 

So go into rest physically mentally and physiologically. When we say physiologically it means you must either not eat anything, but if you must eat then let it be some ripe seasonal fruit only. This we do to conserve our vitality and let it work full time on healing.

 

This was for a natural and long time response for an issue presented by your body. You could further support it by relaxing the muscles in and around your neck by giving hot and cold fomentation. Start with hot water and end with cold water. Then you can continue to keep the wet pack on until you feel comfortable.

Neck pain indicates you've strained your sternocleidomastoid or nearby muscles supposedly you've been working for late hours in same posture.

  • Try to give your muscles proper rest by taking small intervals in between your work. 
  • Do Surya namaskar every morning as it will make your muscles more flexible .
  • Avoid sleeping with heavily stuffed pillows.
  • Massage your neck with lukewarm mustard oil added with few garlics and cumin seeds.it will provide apt heat to your muscles and allow them to relax.

Yes pls. Best not to attempt on your own if you are in severe pain. Work with a yoga expert, experience the benefit & then you can do on your own as per comfort......In the longer run it definitely helps.

I have myself battled with neck pains / shoulder pains due to excessive laptop work. Surya namaskar requires a lot of strength, it can aggravate the pain. One should do it after one is pain free. The person who has having the problems of neck pain, shoulder pain and cervical, should do Surya namaskar very carefully. If performed it systematically, one can gain strong and flexible spine and make the sufferer free from neck pain, shoulder pain and cervical spondylosis.

I would request, whenever you post a query (for that matter, it is relevant to all the readers those who are seeking to advise), please elaborate your condition in more details.
In Natural healing domain, the remedies cannot be prescribed similar to the domain of medicines.
In Nature Cure, only holistic health recovery can be recommended.
In this, the detailed lifestyle patterns would be needed to recommend something specifically.

Coming to your query, is this neck pain without any specifically identified cause (accidents etc.)? If it is due to accidental cause, you just need to opt REST-REST-REST, 3 ways- Physically (No physical work for the next 3 days of the occurrence), Physiologically (No food at all, if the pain is too much, otherwise only on fruits for the next 3 days), Psychologically (stay positive/neutral and stress-free).

Neck pain is toxin accumulation in upper body. You may also have dark circles around eyes. Do the following:-
1. Plenty of liquids like water, coconut water, fruit and vegetable juices.
2. With mango season, go on only mangoes diet for seven days.
3. Simple neck exercises, not straining, but slowly like bending front & back, bending sideways, rotating clockwise and anti clockwise.
4. Sunbathing one hour daily.
5. Deep breathing or pranayam one hour daily.

Swathi is right . In addition to that, wrap a cold cotton cloth and rest. Asha has already mentioned about postures. Once this pain heals, kindly make sure you do a full body warm exercises daily that focuses on moving your neck, shoulderS,  elbows wrist hips back knees ankles.. you will have improper blood circulation iif lifestyle or food habits are wrong and you also lead a  sedentary lifestyle. Once you are comfortable doing warm ups, target doing 3 sets of suryanamaskaras daily. Stay in one pose for few secs to a minute. Your body will become stronger

Please check your posture especially while on your phone or computer and correct it.

Do some gentle yoga everyday.

For 3 or 4 days just be on raw fruits, veggies and lightly steamed veggies. No grains or oil or animal products.

As a longer term measure, do an honest evaluation of your lifestyle and strive to correct it.
