“Jaise khave anna , vaisa hove Mann”
The brain just like any other part of the body is fed and nourished by the blood. So the quality of the blood that feeds your brain will determine the health of your brain.
If you are eating overcooked, highly processed, preservatives and additives laden food, then be assured that soon the digestive system is going to get overworked and tired resulting in constipation in the guts. This will bring down the quality of your blood. The blood will be very acidic and toxic. The brain, when nourished by such blood, will certainly be constipated in thoughts and ideas which we would call as depression.
Our ancestors ate simple food and the number of meals too were limited. And those days depression was not so common.
So the cleaner and healthier your gut will be, your mind will be equally clearer and cheerful.
Be healthy and be happy always.
Hi! Multiple factors have resulted in an upsurge of depression in recent times. These include social, emotional, environmental, nutritional and many other aspects. Like physical health, mental health is the function of varied factors.
Depression is very common these days. Some factors that I think are co-related to depression are:
- High-stress levels
- Fast paced life resulting in insufficient sleep & rest
- Spending a greater part of the day indoors and insufficient exposure to the sun
- Increased consumption of packaged & processed foods
- Becoming distant from nature/natural environment
- Pollution
Bad food also contaminates the gut and subsequently the brain. The structuring and defence system of the colony of microbiome changes as lifestyle changes. In essence it becomes weaker. This weakens the gut and brain signalling. This makes the body vulnerable to toxaemia and viral attacks and inflammations in the brain and other parts of the body. This is curable with a clean diet.
Beyond the food, at an emotional level, the expectations quotient of the generation has changed compared to the past. I work with many ladies majorly with social issues and I can clearly see that. Let’s say for example, in a joint family setup, in the past a daughter-in-law would be living to believe that her life is majorly in the kitchen and with kids. If elders were abusive, that treatment was taken for granted. In contrast the changing exposure levels and trends have made the lady in that situation neither walk away from that life nor learn to manage that. She in Turn is under mental stress. It’s like the saying - someone has a hot ghee in the mouth neither able to swallow or wanting to spit it out.
The fast and changing lifestyles where people want faster results, behavioural expectations from people around them are some of the major causes. Moreover one cannot discount the fact that medical community prescribing meds and funding in research for every symptom to bring out drugs has not made it any better. So a person who is sad and not taught to handle the situation and himself will seek help outside and if the help from doctors is exposure to try a new medicine from the market, he says that you have depression and hands over a drug.
Overall msg is this is curable and reversible with a clean diet and healthy emotional councelling to teach how to find happiness inside themselves and not from the external world.
