These days I have been coming across many cases of psoriatic arthritis. We have had at least 5 people at Kayakalp with this issue in the last 4 months. And what I have noticed common in them is that their issues started with chronic constipation, stress and depression. Long term suppression of issues with help of medicines aggravated and slowly resulted into psoriatic arthritis. Well there’s more to this. But for now let’s get back to you. What can you do to relieve your self of this issue.
As per nature’s law one gets any health issues when he or she starts ignoring the signals from the body. Slowly toxins start building up and when the body has reached a level where it finds it sort of impossible to overthrow the wastes one ends up getting serious and painful health conditions.
To reverse these conditions we need to learn to listen to the body and adopt a lifestyle that would be supportive in our cleansing and healing. Here are certain things that you could do in your daily routine for a better state of health.
1 Learn pranayam and yoga for relaxing your mind, improving your flexibility and activating your lymphatic system.
2 Get good sun exposure either in the early hours of the morning or a couple of hours before sunset.
3 Get in touch with Mother Earth. Do some gardening with your hands or atleast walk barefoot on sand or mud. Sit in parks or lie on the ground or lawns and relax.
4 Keep an eye on your bowel movement. See to it that your bowels are always functioning normally. Eliminate larger quantities than what you eat.
5 Rest and relax well. Sleep in the earlier part of the night and sleep through the night. Wake up before or with the sun.
6 Be well hydrated. Consume lot of juicy fruits veggies and greens to hydrate yourself well.
8 Be happy always. Don’t let life’s negativities to bog you down. Always be positive.
Follow these principles and as you go on eliminating toxins and discarding all damaged unhealthy tissues you will start seeing a great change in your overall health.

Thank you madam. I will certainly try. Being a teacher it's my priority to be always fit, fine and happy. I will have to be much careful about my diet. Our traditional diet consists of much carbohydrates like dal, roti etc., which I think isn't proper for me. I have got an exercise cycle. Can I use it instead of walking? Because I don't get much access to walking. My little finger of the left hand has been deformed. How can I cure it?
The problem started with a little pain in my foot but due to improper diagnosis it has now become a grave one.

You can use your exercise cycle. But you still need fresh air and grounding. So either do pranayama in the garden or on the terrace. For helping your small finger heal, you may apply a wet pack on it everyday for at least 30 everyday.

नमस्ते महेश जी,
दर्द वाले जगह पर धनिया + खीरा + फिटकिरी का पेस्ट लगाएँ। 20 मिनट के लिए और दिन दो बार तिल के तेल से घड़ी की सीधी दिशा में (clockwise) और घड़ी की उलटी दिशा में (anti clockwise) मालिश करें। नरम हाथों से, बिल्कुल भी प्रेशर नहीं देना है।
हमारा शरीर 5 तत्व से बना हुआ है वो पाँच तत्व का सामंजस्य ठीक प्रकार से होते ही शरीर पूर्णतया स्वस्थ हो जाएगा।
1 आकाश तत्व- एक खाने से दूसरे खाने के बीच में विराम दें। रोज़ाना 15 घंटे का उपवास करें जैसे रात का भोजन 7 बजे तक कर लिया और सुबह का नाश्ता 9 बजे लें।
2 वायु तत्व- लंबा गहरा स्वाँस अंदर भरें और रुकें फिर पूरे तरीक़े से स्वाँस को ख़ाली करें रुकें फिर स्वाँस अंदर भरें ये एक चक्र हुआ। ऐसे 10 चक्र एक टाइम पर करना है। ये दिन में चार बार करें।
खुली हवा में बैठें या टहलें।
3 अग्नि तत्व- सूर्य उदय के एक घंटे बाद या सूर्य अस्त के एक घंटे पहले का धूप शरीर को ज़रूर लगाएँ। सर और आँख को किसी सूती कपड़े से ढक कर। जब भी लेंटे अपना दायाँ भाग ऊपर करके लेटें ताकि आपकी सूर्य नाड़ी सक्रिय रहे।
4 जल तत्व- खाना खाने से एक घंटे पहले नाभि के ऊपर गीला सूती कपड़ा लपेट कर रखें या खाना के 2 घंटे बाद भी ऐसा कर सकते हैं।
मेरुदंड (स्पाइन) सीधा करके बैठें। हमेशा इस बात ध्यान रखें और हफ़्ते में 3 दिन मेरुदंड का स्नान करें।
मेरुदंड स्नान के लिए अगर टब ना हो तो एक मोटा तौलिया गीला कर लें बिना निचोरे उसको बिछा लें और अपने मेरुदंड को उस स्थान पर रखें।
5 पृथ्वी- सब्ज़ी, सलाद, फल, मेवे, आपका मुख्य आहार होगा। आप सुबह खीरे का जूस लें, पेठे (ashguard) 20ग्राम + धनिया पत्ती (10 ग्राम) पीस लें, 100 ml पानी मिला कर पीएँ। 2 घंटे बाद फल नाश्ते में लेना है।
दोपहर में 12 बजे फिर से इसी जूस को लें। इसके एक घंटे बाद खाना खाएँ। शाम को नारियल पानी लें फिर 2 घंटे तक कुछ ना लें। रात के खाने में सलाद बिना नमक के खाएँ।
ख़ाली पैर मिट्टी पे चलें, दर्द वाले भाग पर गीली मिट्टी लगाएँ या खीरा + धनिया + तिल पीस कर पेस्ट बना लें। इस पेस्ट को 20 मिनट के लिए लगाएँ और फिर साफ़ कर लें। इससे दर्द में तुरन्त आराम मिलेगा।

Thank you so much for your kind words and guidance. I think l need to change the life style more. I have brought much change in it. I have been trying to practise some yoga too. I will certainly adopt the measures suggested by you and seek to get your guidance if needed.
