I am just giving a guidance to meal plan. Exact meal plan is done based your child choice of food

A complete meal should have agood balance of carbohydratesand other nutrients, which balances both for management of diabetes and a completesatisfaction

Some important thingsto keep in mind while you plan your child's meal:

  • Approximately 10% to 20% of the calories your child eats should come from proteins and make a point to add soyabeans to your child's meal.
  • Approximately 25% to 30% of calories should be sourced from fat. Avoid foods that are rich with lots of trans and saturated fats (or serve them only in moderation).
  • Approximately50% to 60% of the calories your child eats should come from carbohydrates.Child must be encouraged to eat lots of green and orange vegetables every day — like carrots and broccoli. And always choose vitamin-rich brown rice /red rice instead of white rice.

The diabetes health care and your nutritionist and diabetologist will provide a complete meal planning guidelines based on the foods that your child usually eats. Theymight evenask you and your child to keep a detailed food diary for 3 days( every food eaten is recorded on a notebook or diary) to get an idea of what your child likes and in what amounts. Afailetr which a detailed and specific diet plan is will be prepared based on your child's diet pattern and habits.

Alternatively if your child or yourself need a change in the diet plan, the changes may be made after a complete food diary where the dietary habbits and patterns of your child are studied.

Try to make her follow a whole foods plant based lifestyle, this will gradually help her to reverse diabetes. This diet will help her reach her proper weight. For height, try yoga asanas like talasana and yastikasana
