Hello User,

Ulcerative colitis is a form of inflammatory bowel disease which causes inflammation in the mucosa of the intestine. It causes loose stools which are usually associated with blood and mucous. The possible causes for this may be immune system malfunction, stress, or hereditary.

Diet to follow-

  • Start the day with a glass of warm water with lemon juice in it. This will help to boost your metabolism in the morning.
  • Drink green tea twice a day, one in the morning on an empty stomach and the other at night before sleeping.
  • Eat only plant-based natural foods in your diet.
  • Eat fresh, seasonal, and locally available fruits and vegetables.
  • Drink freshly prepared homemade fruit juices.
  • Have whole grains like barley, millets, oats, etc in place of refined grains.
  • Have brown rice in place of white rice.
  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
  • Avoid dairy foods and animal foods.
  • Avoid tea, coffee, and other such caffeinated drinks.
  • Avoid carbonated drinks.
  • Avoid irritating substances like alcohol and tobacco.

Exercise

Light exercises to improve the metabolism and digestive functions are essential for every person.

  • Start your morning with a short walk of at least 30min.
  • Do tada asana, vriksha asana, trikona asana, parvat asana.
  • Do pranayam regularly, specially anulom-vilom pranayam.
  • Take early morning sun rays daily.

Sleep

Sleeping is important for good metabolism. So, take proper sleep of at least 7-8 hours daily. Sleep early at night and also wake up early in the morning.

Avoid using electronic devices 1hour before sleeping. Read books before sleeping to improve the quality of sleep.

Thank you

Namaskar,

Thanks for sharing your query with us! IBS or irritable bowel syndrome is a chronic digestive problem. We do appreciate that it is a troublesome condition and does start affecting one's day-to-day functioning. This issue has often been discussed on our platform and we also have some resources that we would like to share with you. Before that, please consider this - as per nature cure, the main root cause of all kinds of disease or discomfort is TOXAEMIA - accumulation of un-eliminated toxins within the body.  While some toxins are an output of metabolism, others are added due to an unnatural lifestyle – wrong food habits, lack of rest, stress etc. If not eliminated, the toxins get built up and cause diseases. While the body has an innate capacity to get rid of the toxins, it needs to be supported by way of providing it with the right inputs.

Adopting a natural lifestyle will help you reclaim your skin health. We suggest you take a personal consultation with our Natural Health Coach who can understand your background better & suggest the way forward. You can explore our  Natural Health Coaching Program for the same.
