Hello Rashi,

The best advice for suffering from anxiety is to take a natural way to treat it. Going the natural way will only help in treating the episode but will also help in preventing it. As the stressors in today's lifestyle have increased be it for a student, a person working at home, or a corporate lifestyle everything needs to be tackled in a healthy manner. A lifestyle filled with green vegetables, fruits, exercise, and meditation is what is needed.

Eat:

Start the day with two-three glasses of warm water, this will help in flushing out the toxins and improving the state of metabolism by increasing it.

  • The inclusion of vegetable juice in your breakfast will help in giving the right amount of energy for the day.
  • The next thing is going for a head massage, daily at night massage the head with coconut oil and aloe vera gel, this will help in soothing the nerves and reduce the episode of anxiety.
  • Increasing Vitamin B12 and minerals in the diet will help in treating mood disorders. Chia seeds, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, almonds are a good source of vitamin B 12.

Exercise:

Taking a brisk walk in the early morning sun rays helps in treating all the problems, as the sun helps in treating the mood and freshen us for the whole day. Early morning walk is recommendable.

Even Suryanamaskar will help in treating the mental issues and will help in dealing with all problems, 12 sets a day is recommendable. If you are a beginner start with 6 and increase it.

Meditation:

Stop using the gadget an hour before sleep, you can use a fragrant diffuser where you can use essential oils, and then with the smell itself, you will start feeling calm. The next thing is to take 10 long deep breaths, and allowing your body to relax, any thought which comes let it go do not resist.

Saying the affirmation, I am healthy and happy" release each breath. This will help a lot in calming you.

Sleep:

Sleep is a very important part of treating any mental symptom, a sleep cycle of 90 minutes should be completed in order to get a sound body. This sleep cycle should be repeated 5 times. This makes 7-8 hours of healthy sleep. This will make your body and mind strong and refreshing.

Hopefully, these suggestions will help.

Thank you.

Hello Rashi,

It is good that you have started yoga and exercise. Muscular pain may be the result of this change. Whenever one start yoga or exercise, it should done ascending order. For example if you have started, suryanamaskar then do 2 to 3 sets on 1st day then increase by 1-1 set every 3rd day. This way your body will get time to adjust with the change.

Good mental health is equally important as our physical health. Anxiety, restlessness, fears, etc are all indications of deteriorating mental health.
Following the wrong lifestyle, incorrect sleeping patterns, and a bad environment are the main reasons for this. However, one can achieve good mental health by just making small changes in the daily routine and adopting a natural lifestyle.
Diet

  • Start the day with 3 to 4 glasses of warm water. This will help to eliminate the toxins out of the body.
  • Eat sprouts in your breakfast. Along with sprouts, have freshly prepared homemade fruit juices.
  • Have soaked raisins and almonds in the morning. This will provide the body with easily absorbable nutrients.
  • Include Vitamin C in your diet like blueberries, amla, orange, lemon, etc.
  • Have fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables.
  • Have whole grains like barley, millets, oats, etc.
  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Foods to avoid-

  • Avoid dairy products like ghee, milk, paneer, curd, etc, and animal foods.
  • Avoid tea and coffee.
  • Avoid carbonated drinks.
  • Avoid processed, packaged, oily, and spicy foods.
  • Avoid refined oils and refined grains.

Meditation

Meditation is the key to cure any kind of health problem, especially mental illness. Practicing meditation daily keeps the mind fit and healthy.

Practice meditation regularly for 30 minutes.

Meditate early in the morning and in a place full of trees.

Practice bhramri pranayam as it also gives a soothing effect to the mind.

Sleep

Proper sleep is extremely important for a healthy mind as sleeping pattern helps to maintain our circadian rhythm. Lack of sleep may also lead to irritability and anxiety.

So, take proper sleep of at least 8 to 10 hours daily. Sleep early at night and also wake up early in the morning. Avoid the use of electronic devices like mobiles, laptops, computers, tv, etc at least 1hour before sleeping and read books before sleeping. This will help to get a better quality of sleep.

Thank you

Dear Rashi,

Thanks for sharing your concern with us! We understand anxiety can affect your day-to-day functioning.

To begin with, please understand that as per Nature Cure approach the body is seen as a whole unit and therefore any health issue (physical/mental) is concerned with the overall functioning and internal state of balance. Owing to wrong lifestyle choices, toxins get accumulated in the body and disrupt the internal balance. Our gastrointestinal tract ( GI Tract or GUT) is a long tube inhabited by millions of microbes and about 70% of our health depends on the quality of the gut. These microbes play a crucial role in communicating with the brain. When the sensitive balance of gut flora (microbes) is disturbed it affects our mental health too.

If we support the body with the right inputs in terms of food as well as non-food elements (like sleep, exercise, relaxation etc.) we can prevent and heal physical as well as mental health issues. We would thereby encourage you to adopt a natural lifestyle to deal with your condition. You can explore our Natural Health Coaching Program that helps you in making the transition, step by step.
