Hi, am a cancer patient. Am having nodes which I can feel from outside in abdomen as well as in rib. How to reduce that, if you can guide. Someone shared a video stating Dr. Sharma uses a technique using sunlight to reduce the same. Please help.

Hello Anirban,

The tumor which are present in abdomen and rib are due to cancer. Cancer is a health issue in which the unwanted cells in the body begins to multiply at an abnormal rate and in an uncontrolled manner, which suppresses the growth of normal cells of the body. You have not mentioned about the details such as the history of the disease as well as other past illness, family history, etc.

But still here are some natural ways which help to gain good health in general.

Things to avoid 

  • Say no to alcohol and smoking completely. 
  • Avoid tea, coffee and other caffeinated drinks.
  • Avoid carbonated drinks. 
  • Avoid dairy products and animal foods. 
  • Say no to processed, packaged, and preserved foods. 

Diet

  • Have only plant-based natural foods.
  • Try to be more on liquid diet as this will be very beneficial for the gut.
  • Have fresh and homemade fruit juices and vegetable juices with fibres.
  • Have coconut water regularly. 
  • Include carrots in your daily diet.
  • Have steamed broccoli, carrots and peas.
  • Have overnight soaked dry fruits like raisins, almonds, etc.
  • Have almond milk.


Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy uses fragrant oils to provide a calming sensation. Oils, infused with scents such as lavender, can be applied to your skin during the massage or the oils can be added to bath water. Fragrant oils can also be heated to release their scents into the air. Aromatherapy will be helpful in relieving nausea, pain, stress, etc.

Exercise 
Gentle exercise may help to relieve fatigue and stress and help you sleep better. Hence, the cells of the body are repaired better. Many studies now show that an exercise program may help people with cancer to live longer and improve their overall quality of life.

Meditation 

Meditation has the power to heal everything. It should be performed for double time than your age. For example, if you are 25 years old then you should meditate for 50 minutes. 
So, meditate regularly as it will create an aura which will aid in healing.

Sleep

Our body always needs a proper rest for well functioning. So, make sure that you take a proper sleep for atleast 8 to 10 hours daily.
Don't use any electronic equipments atleast 1hour before sleeping to have a better quality of sleep.

We can empathize with what you and your relative both are going through only with a healthy motivation and support this situation can be dealt with in an effective manner.

To start with tips on diet please avoid milk, cheese, and gluten from their diet because they are very hard to digest and the body's energy cannot be wasted when it is fighting the disease. It is time to take measures for a lighter and healthier diet and exercise which can be done easily.

A holistic measure is the only way you can treat this thing completely.

Eat:

The first thing in the morning is to start your day with something light in nature and easy to digest is what your breakfast should be because they are the kind of nutrients that get absorbed easily. Even the early morning ritual should include the consumption of two-three glasses of warm water will help in flushing out all the toxins.

An antioxidant-rich diet with sources like berries, oranges, lemon is very much helpful. Consuming them two hours after any meal will be helpful. Combine minerals in their diet to increase nerve strength. Things like chia seeds and flax seeds a very much useful to increase their nerve tissue power.

​​Exercise:

  • Pranayam helps in detoxifying the body, practising it early morning in an area that has good sunlight will help in improving blood circulation.
  • Simple non straining stretching exercise with poses like sukhasana and shavasana will be helpful in their state.
  • A brisk walk in the early morning sun from 30-45 minutes, helps in treating your body to its level best. Sun is a great source of Vitamin D that is why walking in the Sun and connecting with the sun also help in activating our cells and rejuvenate us for the whole day.

Meditation:

In any kind of disease, stress comes complementary to it, but with our assurance and positive attitude, we can treat anything. The best thing to start with is breathing mindfully before sleep with the help of music to stay positive. Use a 15-minute relaxation technique before sleep, by hearing a piece of soothing music and deep breathing will help in relaxing your mind.

A positive attitude will help you to deal with everything in life.

Communicating with people who are suffering from a similar type of illness is what is beneficial because it is a great stress buster. You being the family member can really help by motivating them to live a life of quality. You can encourage them to join a new type of hobby class like dancing, painting, sculpting which will motivate them to look forward to something new each day.

Sleep:

Sleeping for at least 7-8 hours is really helpful in dealing with any problem, sleep is our body's natural response and helps the body to heal. Sleep relaxes the muscles and strengthens our bodies. During sleep, our body goes into a repair mechanism where it heals thy self.
