The best advice for suffering from depression is taking a natural way to treat it. Going the natural way will only help in treating the episode but will also help in preventing it. As the stressors in today's lifestyle have increased be it for a student, a person working at home, or a corporate lifestyle everything needs to be tackled in a healthy manner. A lifestyle filled with green vegetables, fruits, exercise, and meditation is what is needed.
Minerals like magnesium, copper, and potassium help in promoting both memory booster as well as a mood booster, the best part is to start with having seeds, seeds like pumpkin, chia and flax seeds help in boosting nerve health. Meditation helps in treating depression.
Inhalation of essential oils like rosemary and basil also helps in treating depression and enhances memory.
Eat:
Start the day with two-three glasses of warm water, this will help in flushing out the toxins and improving the state of metabolism by increasing it.
- The inclusion of a vegetable juice in your breakfast will help in giving the right amount of energy for the day.
- The next thing is going for a head massage, daily at night massage the head with coconut oil and aloe vera gel, this will help in soothing the nerves and reduce the episode of mood swings.
- Increasing Vitamin B12 and minerals the diet will help in treating mood disorders. Chia seeds, flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, almonds are a good source of vitamin B 12.
Exercise:
Taking a brisk walk in the early morning sun rays helps in treating all the problems, as the sun helps in treating the mood and freshen us for the whole day. Early morning walk is recommendable.
Even Suryanamaskar will help in treating the mental issues and will help in dealing with all problems, 12 sets a day is recommendable. If you are a beginner start with 6 and increase it.
Meditation:
Stop using the gadget on hour before sleep, you can use a fragrant diffuser where you can use essential oils, and then with the smell itself, you will start feeling calm. The next thing is to take 10 long deep breaths, and allowing your body to relax, any thought which comes let it go do not resist.
Saying the affirmation, I am healthy and happy" release each breath. This will help a lot in calming you.
Communication helps a lot, please talk to people around you and express yourself healthily it will definitely solve the problem.
Sleep:
Sleep is a very important part of treating any mental symptom, a sleep cycle of 90 minutes should be completed in order to get a sound body. This sleep cycle should be repeated 5 times. This makes 7-8 hours of healthy sleep. This will make your body and mind strong and refreshing.
Hopefully, these suggestions will help.
Thank you.
Thank you
Hello Pooja,
Our mental health is equally important just as our physical health. Depression, weak memory, negative thoughts are all the indications about your bad mental health.
Here are a few tips that will surely help you:
Meditation
Meditation is the ultimate key to achieving good mental health. It improves concentration as well as memory power.
Just like our physical health, our mental health is also equally important and meditation is the best to achieve the same.
Give 20 to 25 minutes from your busy day for meditation. Practice it in sukhasana or padma asana and concentrate on your breathing.
Daily meditating will surely lead to a healthy and happy mind.
Diet
Diet also has an impact on our mental health as our metabolism depends on the foods that we have which in turn affects the hormonal secretions.
- Drink a glass of warm water with lemon juice in it in the morning on an empty stomach. This will help to boost the metabolism at the start of the day.
- Have soaked raisins and other dry fruits to get the easily absorbable nutrients.
- Eat sprouts, nuts, beans and salads.
- Include Vitamin C in your diet like blueberries, amla, orange or lemon as they have antioxidant properties.
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day to eliminate the toxins out of the body and to be hydrated.
- Avoid dairy products and animal products as they are not meant for the human digestive system and hence it results in the accumulation of toxins in the body.
- Avoid processed, packaged and preserved foods as they have bad effects on our digestive system.
Yoga
Daily yoga is very effective for achieving a good balance between the mind, body and soul.
- Practice suryanamaskar daily.
- Do bhujanga asana, paschimottan asana, gomukha asana and padahasta asana.
- Do pranayam regularly for 15-20min, specially anulom-vilom and kapalbhati pranayam.
- Take sunrays early in the morning.
Sleep
The quality and pattern of the sleep also determine the state of our mental health as it affects the circadian rhythm and in turn the hormonal balance. Sometimes, lack of proper also leads to mental illness.
So, take proper sleep of at least 8 to 10 hours daily.
Avoid electronic devices like mobiles, laptops, computers, tv, etc at least 1hour before sleeping to improve the quality of sleep.
Thank you
