Hello Shivakumar,

Gastritis is a condition that results in the inflammation, irritation or erosion of the lining of the stomach. Acidity is a common digestion related problem that is faced by many people nowadays because of the sedentary lifestyle and wrong choices of food. Intake of a high fatty diet, oily, and spicy foods results in improper digestion which ultimately leads to digestive issues like acidity, burping, etc.
Along with a correct diet, the adoption of a correct lifestyle is equally important.

Reasons

  • Excessive use of alcohol.
  • Stress
  • Bacterial infections
  • Bile reflux
  • Certain medications
  • Excessive vomiting

In some people, there is no symptom of gastritis. And symptoms may vary from people to people. Mostly, the symptoms which are seen are as follows-

  • Vomiting
  • Hiccups
  • Pain in the abdomen
  • Burning sensation in the abdomen
  • Blood in vomiting

  • Bloating

Things to follow-

  • Eat chopped garlic or garlic with peanut butter.
  • Have probiotics like plant-based yogurt as it improves the digestion.
  • Have herbal tea.
  • Eat light meals.
  • Maintain personal hygiene.

Diet-

  • Eat only plant-based foods.
  • Be on a fluid diet for 4-5days.
  • Have coconut water.
  • Have freshly prepared fruit juices and vegetable juices.
  • Have fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Include salads, nuts, sprouts, beans in your diet.

Foods to avoid:

  • Say no to spicy foods and other inflammatory foods.
  • Avoid deep-fried foods and oily foods.
  • Avoid packaged and processed foods.
  • Avoid refined oil and refined grains.
  • Avoid tea and coffee.
  • Avoid carbonated drinks.

Yoga:

Yoga and pranayama are very helpful in improving digestion and curing digestive problems.

  • Do vajra asana after eating meals.
  • Perform anulom-vilom.
  • Do kapalbhati.
  • Do paschimottan asana, chakra asana, sarvanaga asana, trikona asana.

Meditation:

Stress may also lead to gastritis. And meditation is the best way to deal with stress. It helps to keep the mind calm and fresh and relaxes the mind.

So, practice meditation daily for at least 20-25min.

Sleep:

Proper sleep is very important to maintain a normal circadian rhythm. Also, mind and body need rest after the whole day work and sleep gives the mind and body a complete rest.

Sleep for at least 7-8 hours daily and sleep early at night. Also, get up early in the morning.

Thank you.

The issue is usually low acid level in stomach. Ask her to consume ACV with water daily morning and evening. Also, no meals before sunrise or after sunset. Ideally 2 meals a day is good for us.

Hello Shivakumar,

In gastritis, we have to make sure that we should take care of our stomach's pH which is in normal acidic in nature. Our aim is to maintain the body's homeostasis so that it should function in harmony.

Due to continuous exposure to a high-fat diet, smoking, liquor, packaged food, refined sugars are some of the things which have been found common with gastritis patients. It is time to treat the body from going under inflammation in the condition of gastritis.

It is time to treat the problem in a holistic manner to get a long-term cure and avoid relapse of disease. The following tips will be helpful.

Eat:

Start the day with two-three glasses of warm water, this will help in flushing out the toxins and improve the state of metabolism by increasing it. The next thing is the inclusion of vegetable juice in your breakfast as this will help in giving the right amount of energy for the day. Keep at least two hours gap between your food and your sleep timing at night. You can also choose to have vegetable juice in your breakfast, it is an easier way to absorb all the nutrients.

  • Consume ginger lemon tea, one inch of ginger and one tablespoon of lemon juice boiled in one cup of water. Consume it during the evening. This will help in treating inflammation.
  • Consuming raw tomatoes with black pepper an hour before your meal helps in maintaining the pH of the stomach.
  • Consume two teaspoons of fennel seeds after your meals, to reduce acid-peptic problems.

Exercise:

  • Taking a brisk walk in the early morning sun rays helps in treating all the problems, as the sun helps in treating the mood and freshens us for the whole day, it stimulates our system and strengthens our immunity. An early morning walk is recommended.
  • Practice Vajrasana after every meal will help in treating digestion problems as it aids the good pathway for the meal,
  • Suryanamaskar will help in treating the health issues and will help in dealing with all problems, 12 sets a day is recommended. If you are a beginner start with 6 and increase it.

Meditation:

Stop using the gadget an hour before sleep, you can use a fragrant diffuser where you can use essential oils and then with the smell itself you will start feeling calm. Rosemary and lavender oil will be helpful.

Take 10 long deep breaths, and allow your body to relax, any thought which comes, let it go do not resist. Say the affirmation, "I am healthy and happy" with each breath. This will help in curbing all your issues even in the long run.

Sleep:

The sleep is a very important part of treating any mental symptom, a sleep cycle of 90 minutes should be completed in order to get a sound body. This sleep cycle should be repeated 5 times. This makes 7-8 hours of healthy sleep. This will make your body and mind strong and refreshing. Make sure your room is gadget-free an hour before sleep.

Hopefully, these suggestions will help.

Thank you.
