Dr. Khushbu Suthar

Hello Superna, It is good to know that after the bulge episode you feel better now, the most important advice we need to emphasize is this is the time that you can choose to take a lifestyle which will help you in the long term and protect from these episodes of pain. The herniation, which means the bulging of the disc happens due to the weakening of our bones. Wear tear is a chronic process which is the mixture of both our bad diet which is filled with the unneeded amounts of fats as well as postural issues. But with correct diet and exercise, you can not only combat the pain but also can help yourself for long term measures. Here are a few pointers which you can keep in mind in order to heal. Eat: • Avoid alcohol, cigarettes, packaged food. • Include calcium-rich food and increase vitamin D intake to support bone health. • Practice a diet that is rich in fruits, raw vegetables, and whole grains that will help in the treatment. • Limit fats, animal products, processed or mixed foods, and try to drink eight to 10 glasses of water each day. The best thing you can start having is vegetable juice in the morning, this helps in easy absorption of nutrients, a glass of green vegetable juice helps in absorbing calcium a lot. Even nuts and seeds like chia and flax are good sources of calcium to increase your bone density. Exercise: Daily physical activity is crucial for people with this disease. This can reduce pain and also improve your mobility, posture and helps you maintain your flexibility. Practicing good posture can help prevent spinal fusion in a stooped or deformed position which happens after cervical disc bulge. Posture exercises should be practiced daily to have the best impact on the cervical to the back spine. Sitting on a chair, look in the front, flex your neck downwards bring it to center, extend upwards bring it to center. Then slowly rotate. Do this set 10 times in order to increase circulation and your flexibility is maintained and pain is controlled. Massage can help you achieve that perfect mobility despite your disease. Massaging for 15-20 minutes is very important to improve blood circulation in that area. Massage with coconut or almond oil by warming it. Meditation: Practice mindful meditation. Deal with your stress. Allow positivity to be part of your life. Doing a 15-minute exercise before sleep like deep breathing will help in relaxing your mind, you can use music also for relaxation. A calm mind will lead to a healthier body. Sleep: Sleeping for at least 7-8 hours is very important in order to completely relax. In sleep what our body does is go through is the process of repair. Relax your self by taking a water bowl, add 2-3 drops of essential oil, like orange and lavender which will help in relaxing the sleep. This will aid in treating any kind of disease. It is time to make ourselves healthier without disease hampering our growth. Hopefully, these suggestions will help. Thank you

A healthy diet or an optimum diet is essential for good health and nutrition. The diet should satisfy all the required nutrients needed by the body to meet up the demands. It protects you against many chronic non-communicable diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Eating a variety of foods especially a lot of vegetables and fruits and consuming less salt, white sugars and saturated and industrially-produced trans-fats, are essential for a healthy diet. Some of the benefits that one could achieve by a healthy diet are maintaining an optimum weight, prevent conditions like cancer, diabetes, heart ailments, degenerative bone disorders, bad mood swings, and a bad memory. Some of the popular schools of nutrition preach the following ideologies Choose good carbohydrates especially those sourced from whole grains (the unprocessed are the best), green vegetables, fruits, and beans. Try to avoid white bread, processed white rice, and sugared drinks, and other highly processed foods or junk foods. Make sure you meet the required protein requirements: good choices include nuts and soybeans. Try to avoid non-vegetarian foods Choose foods that contain healthy fats. Choosing plant oils, nuts, etc are the best choices. Try to limit the consumption of saturated fats, and try to avoid foods with trans fat. Choosing a fibre-rich diet which includes whole grains, vegetables, and fruits would be the best choice to meet up the fibre requirements Eat more of fresh green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits—the more colourful and more variety is better. Make a point to include adequate amounts of calcium in the diet; however, soya milk might be a better option to consider in substitution to milk products. Some of the rich sources of calcium are collards, bok choy, fortified soy milk, beans, etc Consume potable water over other beverages. Try to avoid sugary drinks, and limit intake of juices and avoid milk. Avoid coffee, tea, artificially-sweetened drinks, and alcohol Always better to avoid white salt. Alternatively black salt could be a better option Choose more fresh foods, instead of processed ones.

Lack of focus and concentration is something that we have to develop over time. The art to focus on is to try small activities without getting distracted. Then it becomes a habit. Check this video from Dandapani. It's going to help you understand https://youtu.be/4O2JK_94g3Y In addition to this, when the brain is constantly getting messages and various centres of the brain are physically not able to focus, then it could also be because of a lifestyle issue. Body and mind work together and a toxic body leads to a distracted mind too. Switch to a fully plant-based lifestyle with fruits veggie and greens till dinner for every single meal without having any cooked food. Only for dinner have gluten-free, oil-free food. Drink 1-2 liter of juice and 1-2 liters of water per day. Exercise for an hr daily. Exposure to the sun for 30-40 mins. daily. You will see a lot of progress. Avoid dairy, meat eggs, fish, sugar, fried foods, sweets, outside junk foods. If you want to talk to me in detail, reach me Thanks and regards Be blessed Smitha hemadri ( Holistic lifestyle coach )
I am a 20 years old. My legs are paining constantly at night whether it is college day or holiday. Even during prolonged standing posture it leads to pain in sole. What should I do?

Hello Rushikesh Shinde, Potassium deficiency can be the cause of constantly having pain in the legs, at night our legs go at rest that is why we feel the pain more. The very good and easily available sources of potassium are bananas, having a banana a day helps in treating the pain. Another common source of potassium is coconut water which is easily absorbed. Massaging your legs with coconut and castor oil mixed together will help in increasing blood circulation. Doing it every night is helpful. You can also start with exercises which will definitely relive your pain, squats, pulls ups and sets of suryanamaskar is really good in increasing muscle tonicity of our legs. Thank you
I have pcod and so I am taking medication also. And this time I got my period but after my 5th day also even I am getting light bleeding for few days. It is normal? Bleeding will get stopped or do I need to do some remedies? Please tell.
Dr Sangeeth Somanadhap...

Bleeding in PCOD is one the commonest problem and the bleeding could take place more than the specified time and every time it occurs might not be for the same duration of time. Polycystic ovary disease (PCOD) is a condition that creates an imbalance in a woman's hormone levels. Here in this condition, women produce higher levels of male hormones which might make the women skip the menstrual periods, which is why you would see irregular menstrual periods in women who suffer from this condition. This condition is caused by insulin resistance, some genetic history or due to inflammation in the ovaries. Symptoms like irregular periods, abnormal hair growth, acne, weight gain, male pattern of baldness, darkening of skin and headaches are common in this condition. Lifestyle modification and diet along with Yoga therapy could play a vital role in the management of this condition. A low glycemic index and low carb diet consumption have shown very good results. Some research studies have elicited this fact. Yoga therapy if taken under a trained Yoga therapist could be beneficial as well. Also include the following foods: Natural, unprocessed foods. avoid junk foods and carbonated drinks High-fibre foods. Avoid non-vegetarian foods, oily, garam masalas, Kale, spinach, and other dark, leafy greens. Dark red fruits, such as red grapes, blueberries, blackberries, and cherries. Broccoli and cauliflower.
I am experiencing pain on the extreme left side of forehead and also the forehead area above left eye from last 1 week. This is making me irritable and lethargic too. Is this beginning of migraine? The one-sided headache will not only considered as migraine. migraine usually associates with the symptoms of Aura, vomiting, giddiness, appetite changes, etc. and mainly with the 1-week history, we can't conclude as early/late migraine. In your case, it might be because of eye strain/stress, facial/head muscular tension. so management remedies will be:- 1) Use anti-glare glass during a desk job. 2) Reduce your mobile/desktop/laptop brightness to reduce muscular tension. 3)Maintain the proper distance, position between your eyes and books/desktop/laptop/mobile, etc. 4) Make sure your sleeping habits are perfect ( if you have sleeping disturbance - take hot foot immersion before you sleep) 5)Weekly twice mud pack on eyes for relaxation. 6)Facial and head massage with/without aromatic oil( peppermint oil etc). 7)Healthy food pattern - rich antioxidants, fiber-rich diet. 8)Yoga - neck, eye, exercises, suryanamaskara at least 6 rounds, pranayama- chandranuloma, bhramari, nadishodana regularly. 9) hot foot immersion with Epsom salt for 15-20 minutes. 10) Acupressure, acupuncture has a good therapeutical effect. mainly pain is the alarm signal of your body so understand the eliminating factor and try to follow the remedies mentioned above good luck dear.
I was thinking I have thyroid or pcod because nearly for last three months I was not getting my monthly periods. Can you pls help me?
Dr. Khushbu Suthar
06:46 PM | 28-01-2020
Hello Anjani, With both thyroid or PCOS, the best thing to start with is getting yourself investigated. Getting sonography is important. With hormonal imbalance caused by the stress and toxicity in the body, a healthy lifestyle is what we need. Having cinnamon water or methi seeds powder increases insulin sensitivity which in turn causes the body to improve our menstrual regularity. Start with the consumption of this. Low hemoglobin is another cause of menstrual irregularity, for which you can start with dates, jaggery, and nuts. The next important thing is exercise, a brisk walk, jogging or swimming which keeps our hormones in check. For more information on hormones, you can read, Glands Hopefully, these things will help you Thank you
