I have ulcerative colitis what should i eat and what should I avoid?

In your problem of Ullcerative Colitis , you may look Fit and Fine from Outside personality. But Due to Your inner organs like Large intestine , Stomach and Abdoman, you have some symptoms like pain , bloody diarrhea ,Gas , Fatigue , Weight Loss , Decreased Appetite , Hard Stool and Nausea.

Let us follow 2 things to come out from this. One is to Follow and one is to Avoid.

Follow : These Healthy Food helps to come out from above symtoms and also give strength to inner organs.  

✔️ Carrot juice
✔️ Cabbage Juice
✔️ Pomogranate ..Anar Juice
✔️ Lauki , Snake Guard , Pumpkin
✔️ Papaya 
✔️ Green leafy vegetables
✔️ Keep some Mud pack with Rose water on stomach area for 20 minutes daily.
✔️ Prayers and Pranayam are one of the best starter of Healthy and Happy Day.

Avoid :  These to leave earliest to control damages of inner organs.

Hi there, 


Ulcerative colitis is nothing but a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that causes inflammation in the Gastrointestinal tract. It usually occurs in the colon or rectum with rectal bleeding, diarrhoea with blood and abdominal cramps or pain. The symptoms develop gradually and worsen over time when left untreated. 


A natural healthy diet can reverse the inflammatory condition and prevent it from worsening further. 


• The best food advise is to stick with a plant-based diet such as fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, seeds and nuts. They contain almost every ingredient to maintain and boost a healthy gut thereby preventing any unwanted diseases in our body.


• Go for an anti-inflammatory diet such as green leafy vegetables like spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, onion, garlic, ginger, tomatoes, almonds, walnuts and berries etc..; 


• consume more fruits like Apple, gooseberry, oranges, berries, etc..; 


• Keep on rehydrating yourself with more fluids, diarrhoea can lead to dehydration which can worsen your condition.


• Eat meals in smaller quantity and properly chewed. This will help relieve the burden on your guts and improves digestion and absorption at a better pace. Eat only when you're hungry so as to avoid unnecessary triggers.


• Avoid every dairy products, oily foods, caffeine, soda, alcohol, artificial preservatives added food and any processed foods should be avoided completely.


• Try to minimise the carbs intake, sugary food and white flour products. 


• Physical Activity and exercises play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy body and reduces symptoms. 


• Apply a hot fomentation or hot pad on your abdomen if you experience any cramps or pain.

कारण - आँत के प्रदाह inflammation के कारण colities होता है। आँत को स्वास्थ प्रदान करने के लिए कुछ आसन, प्राणायाम करें। आहार शुद्धि करें।

समाधान - कच्चे सब्ज़ी के जूस से आँत के स्वास्थ में सुधार आएगा। जैसे की पका हुआ खाना में फ़र्मेंटेड फ़ूड लें जैसे इडली, डोसा, मेथी के दाने फ़र्मेंट करके सब्ज़ी में मिलाएँ।कच्चे सब्ज़ी का जूस लें ख़ाली पेट लें। 1घंटे बाद फल लें।

कच्ची भिंडी, बथुआ, पानी में भिगोए हुए अलसी (flexssed) सलाद में मिला कर बिना नमक के खाएँ।

पेट पर गिली पट्टी रखें। खीरे का पेस्ट रखें। 20मिनट तक रख साफ़ कर लें। 

ताड़ासन, कटिचक्रआसन, तिर्यकताड़ासन, पवनमुक्तासन करें।

Ulcerative colitis is a type of inflammatory bowel syndrome. It usually results due to malfunctioning of our immune system.
In ulcerative colitis, patient experiences increased frequency of motion, mucous with stool, weight loss, weakness, etc.


In ulcerative colitis, it is very important to have a proper diet.

  • Start your day with a glass of water with lemon juice in it. This will help to improve the metabolism. 
  • Eat sprouts, nuts and dry fruits.
  • Drink one cup of bottle guard juice in the the morning. 
  • Include Vitamin C in diet like eat one amla daily or have juices like lemon juice or orange juice, have blueberries. 
  • Drink sufficient water during the day. 
  • Boil the water, add half spoon turmeric in it. Then have this drink at night.
  • Say no to alcohol and tobacco as they will make the condition worse.
  • Avoid tea and coffee. 
  • Avoid carbonated drinks. 


Yoga and meditation 


Yoga and meditation has the power to heal every health issue.

  • Start by doing sukshma vyayama like neck rotations, wrist rotations, knee bending, etc.
  • Perform suryanamaskar daily. 
  • Do kapalbhati pranayam daily as it will help to improve the digestive  functions. 
  • Walk barefoot on grass early in the morning. 




Sleeping is essential to relieve the stress and also to maintain the circadian rhythm. Hence, take a proper sleep of atleast 7-8hours daily. Sleep early at night and also wake up early in the morning.

Ulcerative colitis is majorly caused due to a food-based disorder in the lifestyle  and the second major factor is emotional stress. This could lead to constipation and other issues. When such issues are persistently neglected, the inflammation of the colon and subsequent deterioration is usually seen.

It is very important to understand that we can heal from such issues. You will only have to reverse the conditions that led you to this problem.

Remove the following from your lifestyle Dairy, eggs meat fish, sugar, White salt, cooking with oil, oily foods, any form of greasy foods, packaged food from outside,  any grain containing gluten Such as wheat barley oats and Processed flours such as maida. 


Focus on including a lot of fruits vegetables and leafy greens in your diet for the whole day in all forms including juicing. Eat only 30% gluten free grain for dinner and 70% veggies cooked without oils .

On an emotional side, watch the anger, excessive indulgence into anything- can be shopping , eating ? Feeling self pity , feeling needy, thinking that life is not fair with you, you are constantly in conflict between ‘me’ vs serving others happiness etc.. 

focus on stabilising these, bring conscious peace and harmony in your thought process. Live to first keep yourself happy, learn to say no assertively, be bindaas but not hurt others too.. learn some me-time.


Expose yourself to the sun for about 30 minutes per day. Practice yoga and pranayama daily.
