Hi,
Anuloma Viloma is a basic pranayama practice and it is one of the prerequisites for meditation and asana practice. The purpose of the practice is to balance the pranayamas and stimulate the Nadi, which runs throughout the body. It involves controlled and regulated breathing, inhale through left nostrils and exhale through the right, again inhale through right, and exhale through left this is one round. After regular practice, one can able to retain breath (kumbhaka) in between.

Breathing should be deep continuous, the air should fill your abdomen then chest.  You will feel the expansion of the abdomen then chest during the practice.

Regular practice of anuloma Viloma pranayam helps the body to get more oxygen and abundance of prana which leads to improving vitality or vital force.  It helps to balance the three dishes.  This practice is a simple way to keep fit and healthy.

Namaskar!.
