Blood pressure increases when blood vessels become narrowed due to the accumulation of toxins like cholesterol. Due a narrow lumen, pressure is increased to supply the blood in all the body tissues. However, it can be cured by making some changes in diet and lifestyle. Also, mental health is equally important just like our physical health for a healthy body. Anxiety and hypertension are inter-related. The reason for these problems is the accumulation of toxins in the body which is due to the consumption of high fatty foods, high-stress levels and the wrong lifestyle. By making some changes in lifestyle and eating habits, you can achieve good mental and physical health.

Diet

  • Start your day with 3 to 4 glasses of warm water. This will help to flush out the toxins out of the body.
  • Include Vitamin C rich foods in your diet like lemon juice, orange juice, amla juice.
  • Eat fresh, seasonal, and locally available fruits and green leafy vegetables. 
  • Eat nuts, sprouts, salads, and dry fruits.
  • Cook oil-free.
  • Have whole grains like barley, millets, oats, etc.
  • Avoid dairy products and animal products. 
  • Say no to tea and coffee. 
  • Avoid alcohol and tobacco. 
  • Avoid carbonated drinks, tea, and coffee. 

Exercise 

Exercising is essential to remove the toxins out of the body. 

  • Do jogging or walking in the morning. 
  • Do 12 sets of suryanamaskar daily. 
  • Perform pranayam regularly specially anulom-vilom, kapalbhati and bhastrika pranayam. 
  • Take sunrays daily early in the morning.

Meditation 

 

Meditating regularly is essential for a healthy mental state. Try to meditate for at least 20 minutes everyday. 

Bhramri pranayam is also a good way of meditating.

Practising meditation on a regular basis will help to reduce the stress levels and bring peace to the mind.

Sleep

Sleeping is important to get relief from the stress. So, take proper sleep of at least 7-8 hours daily. Sleep early at night at around 10 pm and also wake up early in the morning at around 6 am.

High blood pressure is caused due to our blood vessels get constricted and the flow of blood is obstructed which causes pressure to increase, this is a long term effect of all the accumulation of toxins. The chronic diet of high fat and sedentary lifestyle is the cause of this. The new-age corporate glass building is a new hub of all the diseases to enter as with air conditions we lock our space with altered air supply rather than natural places that inhibit our healthy growth. What makes a major difference is by changing lifestyles, that we are not only curing the disease at this stage but also preventing it.

Now let us understand what changes we can make:

Eat:

The first thing in the morning is to start your day with something light in nature and easy to digest is what your breakfast should be because they are the kind of nutrients that get absorbed easily. Even the early morning ritual should include consumption of two-three glasses of warm water will help in flushing out all the toxins. The ideal diet would be to depend on fruits and raw vegetable intake at least for one month and refrain from something which is oil-based. Have fruit salad in the afternoon time and vegetable salad as evening snack this will be light on your stomach.

  • Consume Vitamin C rich food as it builds up immunity at the same time clear our airway like mosumbi, oranges, lemon, sprouts, cabbage, capsicum, etc. 
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Having raw garlic two hours after your meal, an empty stomach will be helpful in treating high blood pressure.
  • A diet rich in potassium like coconut water, bananas, etc is recommended for a good flow in blood vessels.

Exercise:

  • A brisk walk in early morning sun from 30-45 minutes, helps in treating your body to its level best. Sun is a great source of Vitamin D that is why walking in the sun and connecting with the sun also help in activating our cells and rejuvenate us for the whole day this will help in lowering blood pressure.
  • Suryanamaskar practice daily will help in increasing muscle tonicity and increase blood circulation. 

Meditation:

In any kind of disease, stress comes complementary to it, but with our assurance and positive attitude, we can treat anything. The best thing to start with is breathing mindfully before sleep with the help of music to stay positive. In a room take a bowl of water and add two-three drops of orange or lavender essential oils this will help in soothing you and the aroma will relax you and keep you away from any kind of disease. A positive attitude will help you to deal with everything in life.

Sleep:

Sleeping for at least 7-8 hours is really helpful in dealing with any problem, sleep is our body's natural response and helps the body to heal. Sleep relaxes the muscles and strengthens our body. During sleep, our body goes into a repair mechanism where it heals thy self.

1. Have a light breakfast of fresh fruits, sprouts.

2. Do regular Pranayam, Asanas and meditation

3. Avoid excess sugar and salt

4. Have a quality sleep for atleast 7-8 hours
