Vitamin D is an essential nutrient that your body needs for many vital processes, including building and maintaining strong bones. Vitamin D is necessary for calcium absorption and bone health. The dosage recommendation for Vitamin D is 600 - 1200 IU per day but some people may need heavier doses to reach and maintain healthy blood levels.
Low Vitamin D level has become a problem across the globe nowadays.
Here are some ways that may help you to restore deficiency of Vitamin D.
Some tips for Vitamin D
- Get sunlight exposure daily in the morning for about 20 minutes.
- Some medications may also result.in decreased Vitamin D levels. So, keep a check on the medications you take.
- Some underlying diseases such as Crohn's disease also lead to Vitamin D deficiency. So, if you have any other underlying disease, that needs to be treated.
GERD means gastroesophageal reflux disease on which stomach acid or bile irritates the food pipe. It is a common digestion related problem that is faced by many people nowadays because of the sedentary lifestyle and wrong choices of food. Intake of a high fatty diet, oily, and spicy foods results in improper digestion which ultimately leads to digestive issues like acidity, burping, etc.
Vitamin deficiency means you are not getting enough vitamins to stay healthy.
Vitamin B12 is also necessary for the body as it also has its own importance. It helps to make your DNA and red blood cells. And you have to take Vitamin B12 on a regular basis as the body doesn't store it for long.
Along with a correct diet, the adoption of a correct lifestyle is equally important.
Diet
- Start the day with 3 to 4 glasses of warm water on an empty stomach. This will help to flush the toxins out of the body.
- Drink green tea twice a day, one in the morning on an empty stomach and the other at night before sleeping.
- Eat sprouts in your breakfast as they are light in nature and are rich in nutrients also.
- Drink freshly prepared homemade fruit juices.
- Have fresh, seasonal, and locally available fruits and vegetables.
- Don't use refined oils for cooking. Instead, use cold-pressed oil for cooking.
- Have Vitamin C rich diet like include lemon, oranges, amla, blueberries, etc in your diet.
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Exercise
Physical activities are also essential for good digestion as it improves the blood circulation in the body and also the metabolism of the body.
- Start the day with a brisk morning walk of at least 30min.
- Do plank for 5min.
- Perform yoga asanas like bhujanga asana, trikona asana, paschimottan asana and padahasta asana.
- Do pranayam regularly for 15-20min, specially anulom-vilom and bhastrika pranayam.
Sleep
Good quality of sleep is also needed for good metabolism. Sometimes lack of sleep or bad quality sleep also leads to digestive issues like acidity, anorexia, etc. So, proper sleep is required.
Take proper sleep of at least 7-8hours daily. Sleep early at night and also wake up early in the morning.
Avoid using electronic gadgets like mobiles, tv, computers, laptops, etc at least 1hour before sleeping for an improved quality of sleep.
Thank you
Hello Sudha,
Gerd, gastroesophageal reflux, is caused when our oesophagus sphincter which does not bring back the eaten food becomes loose and starts producing nausea. This happens because of the constant load on the sphincter with highly spiced food and diet which irritates our gastrointestinal tract.
To treat this problem we should start with a diet. .
The main thing here is, it should be about everything, food, meditation, sleep and exercise which amalgamate for good health.
Eat:
The first thing in the morning is to start your day with something light in nature. Easy to digest is what your breakfast should be because they are the kind of nutrients that get absorbed easily. Even the early morning ritual should include consumption of two-three glasses of warm water will help in flushing out all the toxins.
The ideal diet would be to depend on fruits and raw vegetable intake for at least one month and refrain from something oil-based.
- One inch of ginger boiled in two cups of water with one tablespoon lemon, boil them for 5-10 minutes. Consume this mixture two hours after the noon meal will help in treating throat problem and headaches.
- Take one teaspoon of mulethi with half teaspoon honey, take three times a day half an hour after meals for cough accumulation.
- Fennel seeds consumption after meals helps in relieving digestion.
- Chew your food slowly without putting pressure.
Exercise:
- Pranayam helps in detoxifying the body. Practising it early morning in an area which has good sunlight will help in improving blood circulation.
- Suryanamaskar, daily 12 sets will help in increasing the blood circulation of your body.
- Sitting in Vajrasana after meals help in improving digestion.
Meditation:
In any kind of disease, stress comes complementary to it. But with our assurance and positive attitude, we can treat anything. The best thing to start with is breathing mindfully before sleeping with the help of music to stay positive. In a room take a bowl of water and add two-three drops of orange or lavender essential oil. This will help in soothing you and the aroma will relax you and keep you away from any kind of disease.
Use a 15-minute relaxation technique before sleep by hearing a piece of soothing music and deep breathing will help in relaxing your mind.
A positive attitude will help you to deal with everything in life.
Sleep:
Sleeping for at least 7-8 hours is really helpful in dealing with any problem. Sleep is our body's natural response and helps the body to heal. Sleep relaxes the muscles and strengthens our body. During sleep, our body goes into a repair mechanism where it heals itself.
Hopefully, these suggestions will help you.
Thank you.
