Hi. Keep yourself adequately oxygenated. This can happen in 2 ways: 1. Breathe in good oxygen - do deep breathing sitting in the sun. Do a few yoga breathing exercises - anulom vilom, bhastrika, etc. 2. Avoid foods that block flow of oxygen in the body, I.e. un-natural foods such as non veg, dairy, refined oils, white sugar, table salt, junk foods, etc. Eat fibre rich foods such as fruits and vegetables, eat in whole form or as juices, smoothies and salads. Eat nuts and seeds, whole grains. Stress also reduces oxygen flow to brain cells. So work on that. Engage in any activity of your interest such as music, gardening, reading, etc. Challenge your mind through chess or sudoku or puzzles. Stimulate the brain cells. Focus on sleeping well. Body undertakes function of repair and maintenance only when you sleep well. Overall- remember that body is programmed to give us good health. It doesn’t matter whether it’s the nervous system or respiratory or digestive or any other. Staying aligned to the laws of nature ensures our body can work at its optimum. Hope I could answer your query. All the best!!
Can someone tell me if there's a problem in eating papaya during pregnancy? I love papaya, but have been told not to eat it.

There are many fruits which are recommended ‘not to be eaten’ during pregnancy like Pineapple, Tamarind, Papaya, Grapes etc. Common link is presence of high concentration of enzymes or chemicals in these fruits which can either lead to variations in important hormones or lead to uterine contractions which are not desirable during pregnancy. Papaya was strictly mentioned NO even by my Gynecologist. Some research at my end indicates that ripe Papaya is ok but raw or semi ripe Papaya has high concentrations of latex which can lead to uterine contractions. Remain safe and best thing is to avoid as it is matter of only few months!

You will have to work on, long term, improving your immunity. That’s the only way diseases around you don’t affect you. And that happens with correct diet and lifestyle. Include more raw foods in your family routine. A sure shot way to do this is increase fruits intake by all dramatically. Children have a natural liking for fruits, so make sure they have ample quantities in morning and evening snack (not one or two, but much more!) No dairy. Dairy really is very heavy in digesting, and long term may not be as beneficial as you think. So inform yourself more about dairy, and regulate its intake. We surely don’t need a different species’ milk, every single day in form of shakes, milk, paneer, curd. Reduce your intake of refined sugar. Switch to gur, jaggery, khand, or honey. No packaged foods. You will be surprised how much processed food goes into a family’s monthly intake. Increase your fruits and vegetables intake, and reduce your packaged and processed etc.
My friend's 4 1/2 year old daughter doesn't want to drink milk. She gets a stomach ache after drinking milk. I understand we can give yogurt, cheese as substitutes for calcium. But would anyone know how much quantity to give. Is there some chart to understand how much quantity approximately of let's say yogurt or any other item with calcium be consumed to reach daily calcium requirement.

You don't need to have milk to meet calcium requirements. The fact that the child is getting stomah pain shows that she is not able to digest it well. In fact , 3 in 4 Indians cant digest milk products well. Give the child a varied diet of fruits, veggies and nuts and calcium requirement is autmatically taken care of. Greens, beans and nuts are high in calcium too.
Is it ok to have broccoli soup at night? Or will it make me gassy when I sleep?

If you have broccoli soup for seven days the trouble will vanish, it's toxin elimination which started due to broccoli which is causing these symptoms. We often attribute such beneficial changes to change of lifestyle and give up pre-maturely. Give all changes minimum 21 days for the body to make the natural change before making any conclusion.
My mother is a patient of asthma for the past 15 years. She is on her routine medication and nebulization. How can I help her eat better to keep her symptoms under control?

Two foods will greatly help - green leaf vegetable and coconut. Start the day with green leafs vegetable juice and have half a coconut daily. Coconut may be eaten straight or may be added to smoothies or as chutneys. Avoid salt, sugar and oil.

I am not sure if your questions is - Are there plant based sources of Vit B12 pills? - Can I get B12 from plants? For the answer to question 1, yes there are B12 pills available in the market which is from a plant based source. Unived.in sells these. Look for 1500mcg Methylcobalamin . For the second part of the question, B12 is not made by plants or animals. It is made from bacteria. Keep your gut healthy, soak in natural elements like sun, air, water, earth, organic foods etc to allow ood B12 generation by the body.

Hi. Your husband’s body seems to be acidic in nature, hence the typhoid. Germs need an acidic medium to grow and proliferate. Thus any illness (bacterial or viral) happens mainly cause our body acts as the host. We have higher toxicity due to multiple reasons such as processed foods, over consumption of dairy, grains and non veg, lack of ample fruits and veggies and raw in food, lack of proper rest and downtime to repair, lack of sunlight and fresh air, stress etc. You must focus on restoring the acid-alkaline balance of the body. Increase alkaline foods such as fruits and raw veggies. Reduce acidic foods such as grains, dairy, refined oil, refined salt, refined sugar and packaged foods. Increase his immunity by giving lemon-haldi-ginger-honey every 3-4 hours. Rest is extremely important and so is sunning.... good luck dear, hope he feels better soon
Hello. I am pregnant. I am experiencing day long nausea & loss of appetite. I'm concerned as i should be eating more rather than eating less!!

Keep your meal portions small. Incorporate a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. Be sure to eat fruits alone, not mixed with other meal items. Also do know, that nature has designed procreation in such a way that, at this moment your baby will derive all the nourishment from your reserves. So the eating is to replenish your reserves. The nausea is a phase, and feel reassured that desire to eat will come back, which is when the baby needs real nourishment.
