I suffered from back pain for many years. The pain is felt in the legs too and is called sciatica. For short term relief, you can try hydrotherapy. Take two basins of water - one warm and another cold. Use two pices of cloth - one in each bowl. Keep the warm cloth on the back for three minutes and next cold cloth for 1 minute, This is one round. Do 4 rounds. You can do this as many times in a day as necessary. This normalises circulation. Check also your posture when you sit and stand. For longer term, lifestyle changes are the only solution. Plenty of rest, sleeping by 10:00 pm atleast, sun exposure, natural , wholesome diet, less grains and less to no dairy products, non veg and packaged, deep fried food. All these cause toxin build up in the body causing pains.

Hi, Any home remedy for pink eye in kids caused by viral infection? Thanks!!

Anchal Kapur
12:30 PM | 25-11-2018
By pink eye, I assume u mean conjunctivitis? Conjunctivitis is an inflammation in the eyes due to dust, pollen or germs in the air. When any of these interfere with the conjunctivia of the eyes, our body releases antibodies to deal with these foreign invaders. This is an absolutely normal body function and we should be grateful that body is trying to protect us from foreign particles ?. Symptoms such as itching, watery eyes, etc are body’s way of dealing with unwanted materials. Staying aligned to nature’s laws will help eyes restore their balance. Here are a few things you could do for your child- 1. He/she should Eat light as when body gets digestive rest, it can focus more on healing. Fruits, fruit juices, coconut water, nimboo paani. If he/she feels hungry after these, u could do veggie juices, soups and salads. Any other type of food to be strictly avoided. If there is an urge to eat cooked food, give simple khichdi. 2. Clean eyes with clean water every few hours. 3. put rose water or haldi water eyepads. Both have anti inflammatory properties. Boil water, add haldi, let it cool, dip cotton, squeeze and put on kid’s eyes. You could also use rose water eye drops, but ensure good quality organic rose water. 4. Very important - sun gazing - Make ur child look at the early morning sun. It shouldn’t be harsh, use your judgment. And if in doubt, just sit in sun. If child is very uncomfortable, do show him to a doc and continue to support child’s body naturally through the above. Good luck dear.

You can go for a peanut chutney. Its a very versatile dip. Just put together peanuts, jaggery, chilly flakes and soaked imli. You could add even green chillies to get that spicy dip u looking for. Or if running short of time, just simply do 1 onion+1 tomato + 1 to 2 green chillies. Fresh and yummy. Goes well with chilla.

My lips & skin are feeling very dry. What can be done?

Hi all, our bodies signal even the minutest one is actually body’s greatest communication tool. It is telling you that you need to do some correction. Our body maintains an acid-alkaline balance, and every time we put more load on the body through wrong foods, late hours, no time to rest and repair, and no time for outdoors activity the body accumulates a lot of acidity called toxins. Dry skin and dry lips is a clear indication that you need to up your raw to create that much needed balance. Creams and oils, will only provide external relief but root cause remains same that body needs internal hyrdration at cellular level. Along with these you need to figure out what is causing all the ‘drying up’ i.e lack of rest, lack of proper sleep, too much ‘ontime’, too much gadget time, too less time in sunlight and fresh air. You may eat all the right foods yet, all these factors may will increase your acidic levels and thus reduce the good impact of hydrating foods. Here are few immediate actions you may take: Eating more raw, fresh, whole plant based foods. You can read about it here. Eating in accordance to Circadian Rhythm of body. You can read about it here. Sunlight and breathing are two easiest, natural and most effective way to create alkaline reserves within body and to support body to clean up effectively. So increase your time for both. Start slow, 15 minutes daily. Increase it slowly and steadily. Sleeping & resting: Allow enough downtime to your body. Reduce the load of gadgets as they also consume your energy and increase acidic load. Give yourself enough downtime in evening towards night to ensure body continues to be in rhythm of nature.

Hello all! Is there a natural cure to uc? I have been on a heavy dosage of allopathic medicines.

Anchal Kapur
12:10 PM | 20-11-2018
Hi. Ulcerative colitis means ulcers in the colon / large intestine. Any ulcers that we get in our body are a manifestation of excess acidity in our bodies. They are body’s way of telling you to reduce acidity & restore the acid-alkaline balance. You can do so by eating foods that are natural, by staying calm & believing that all will be well and by resting a lot. Hence, UC is a problem that you can definitely get rid of. You don’t have to suffer from it for life!! If you take allopathic medicines, they might give you temporary relief. But UC will keep recurring every now & then because medicines never treat the root cause of a problem. I myself had ulcerative colitis and was on lifelong medication. Then I came across the natural way of living and made changes in my life. I have been medicine free & free from colitis since then. You can read my story in Health Journeys. I’ll be more than happy to answer any queries that you may have.

My mom is allergic to dust. Her nose starts running and head becomes heavy with dust. She takes cetrizine. Any suggestion for natural relief?
Sumeet Kapur
10:51 AM | 20-11-2018
:) reminds me of a close friend who was almost addicted to cetrizine the same way! But can also understand the need for relief because the reaction can really make it impossible to be functional. Everyone is looking for “quick fix” :) And thats the lesson. Plz suggest her to rest rest rest. ?? If she cannot follow a regimented routine just listening to the body and being patient - she will notice a shift. I'd remind my friend to take a 15min power nap (total rest) and then if she wants she can pop the pill. Next time i'd suggest 30 min and so on. And now she has shifted gradually to not reaching out for a pill at the first instance. Hope this works!!
