Why Do So Many People Have Depression Nowadays?
Swati Dhariwal MA, ND,

There’s a saying that goes in Hindi “Jaise khave anna , vaisa hove Mann” The brain just like any other part of the body is fed and nourished by the blood. So the quality of the blood that feeds your brain will determine the health of your brain. If you are eating overcooked, highly processed, preservatives and additives laden food, then be assured that soon the digestive system is going to get overworked and tired resulting in constipation in the guts. This will bring down the quality of your blood. The blood will be very acidic and toxic. The brain, when nourished by such blood, will certainly be constipated in thoughts and ideas which we would call as depression. Our ancestors ate simple food and the number of meals too were limited. And those days depression was not so common. So the cleaner and healthier your gut will be, your mind will be equally clearer and cheerful. Be healthy and be happy always.
I have blood pressure 160 by 100 how to get rid off

If you are looking for a short cut to bring the blood pressure down ASAP then you may consider going on a three day holiday. Holiday from food, work and responsibilities. Go on a juice fast. Drink sugar-free fresh fruit or vegetable juices only when hungry. This is not a permanent solution. This is only a temporary solution to bring blood pressure down. To get a lifetime solution to your issue you have to change your lifestyle completely to a routine which would result in better health in the long run.

Dear Preetha - Repeated episodes of sore throat mean your body is not getting the right energy to eliminate accumulated toxins. May I suggest a few things: Stay totally away from respiratory irritants - white sugar & dairy. This means you will have to avoid packaged foods like biscuits, bread, butter, jam, namkeens, muffins, cakes, pastries, cheese, sandwich spreads, etc......basically anything that comes with a shelf life written on it. Fruits and raw veggies help in cleaning the system. So don't fear them. The sore throat is just a signal the body is trying to give. Continue eating your fruits & veggies. Don't eat refrigerated, eat at room temp. Eat more of the ones you feel comfortable with such as sweet bananas, mangoes, pears, papayas, etc......whichever are in season in the place you live. Increase your intake of raw veggie juices & salads. When you feel uncomfortable, steam your veggies and have a nourishing veggie soup. Sip on warm water or boil some ginger in water & keep sipping on that every now & then. Start your morning with soaked raisins every day. Raisins are highly alkaline & will help your body restore its disturbed pH. Spend some time in the early morning or evening sun. Sit with your eyes closed & visualise the sun's rays healing your throat. Do it at least 10 minutes daily. Here's a concoction I give to my little one whenever he has cough, works for adults also - 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp honey, pinch of haldi, 4-5 drops of ginger juice......have it every 3-4 hours, i.e. 3-4 doses in a day. Stay at it for a few days & you should definitely feel better. Will wait to hear from you.

Pls advice In the morning he always always eats banana and doesn't even taste the other fruits. He is not on any kind of dairy products. He takes the powder milk. But doesn't enjoy his eating time usually. He is an active baby. Sleeps well. What can I give him to eat.

Kindly remove dairy ( even powder milk is milk in another form, ghee, paneer, butter, curd ) sugar meat from his lifestyle. Ulcers are an elimination of an acidic stomach and inefficiently digested meal over long periods of time. His constipation is a big reason that he has mouth ulcers. U have to remove him from dairy immediately and meat or eggs. Does she have rashes on her hands and foot by any chance? Is the ulcer white in color in the mouth? Does she have fever too ? I understand it can be painful, but taking any form of medication irritates and oral mucosa by upsetting the work of the digestive system as a whole. Kids who are off acidic animal foods and medications usually don’t get ulcers of the mouth. Constipation’s means that he has been storing a lot of old poop in his body and his blood is also carrying toxins and inflammation of stomach or mouth and other parts are happening.’ Give the child lots of coconut water. Bananas are ok. Avoid citric juices for now. Gargle the mouth with ashgourd juice 3-4 times a day. If this is not available then snake gourd juice can be used to gargle or rinse the mouth. If you see the Durva grass or the one they use for Ganesh Pooja, u can grind and use that for rinsing too. This is only for the relief of pains of the ulcers. To remove constipation’s which is the cause, like I said go off diary, add soft fruits and juices for few days until he poops. Give raw spinach and grapes mix juice. U can filter spinach if you want but keep the green grapes unfiltered. If he continues to be constipated he can develop fissures. So be careful and remove this issue asap. Apply a cold abdominal wet pack for the child 3-4 times. Once the cloth becomes warm, dip in cold water and repeat the process for 10 mins. If meds are given this time, then kindly do this process anyways and for future please avoid all kinds of animal foods and medications for your child. He will slowly detox and wilL not get into such situations again. Body can only take so much toxins and once it’s topped off, it throws out in such forms. He can get similar issues in future if care is not taken to let the body release it naturally. Be blessed
I am in early stage of my pregnancy. I wish to know what type of millets (Jowar, ragi, bajra, amaranth, chana etc. )are suitable for my first, second and third trimester? Also what type of millets will he suitable in what weather? Currently the weather is cold, being winter months, going towards summer.
Pallavi Upadhyaya
10:25 AM | 15-02-2019
Hi! Great to know you are thinking of including millets in your diet during pregnancy. There is no specific guideline for which millet is suitable in any particular trimester of pregnancy. You can have all of them in moderation. The idea behind including millets in your meal is to ensure diet and nutrient diversity. The more diverse your diet is in terms of the grains, vegetables and fruits, the healthier and more nutritious it is. So the same thumb rule applies for millets, try to include all /most of them in different ways. Different millets are rich in different nutrients. Ragi is excellent for calcium, foxtail millet is rich in protein, bajra/pearl millet is rich in iron and a good source of folic acid, etc. You can easily find them in stores nowadays or online. Some key things to keep in mind when you start off with millets: 1. As a beginner, try to do it just once a day and make sure they are cooked well. Under-cooked millets will cause dehydration and digestion issues. Easier recipes are khichdi, kheer etc where they can be cooked mushy but if you learn how to cook them fluffy and perfect you can experiment with many more recipes. 2. Increasing millets in your diet means increasing fibre, so increase your water intake as well. 3. Going towards summer, if you find that any type of millet is causing ‘heat’ in your body, pair it with cooling spices like saunf.or coriander. You could even use them in fermented recipes like the south Indian congee or the Rajasthani Raab or even in Idli Dosa batters. Besides increasing the B-complex in the food, fermentation also makes them more ‘cool’ for the body. 4. Do not eat the same quantity of millets as you would of white rice/wheat. Since these are fibre rich & nutrient dense they need to be eaten in smaller portions. 5. Millets keep us feeling fuller for a longer duration and provide sustained energy for longer. This does not mean that they are not being digested. We just need to adjust the quantity we consume as per our meal-frequency. For more queries and an easy cooking guide to millets, you can visit the following linkhttps://milletsforhealth.wordpress.com/2019/02/11/an-easy-guide-to-millet-cooking/

What is the reason behind having sudden migraine attacks? Also how much advisable is it to control the pain by having medicines like disprin or crocin?
Anchal Kapur
02:30 PM | 29-01-2019
Hi. Our body speaks to us through signals. A migraine is the body's way of telling you to slow down. It never happens all of a sudden, no illness/disease happens all of a sudden. It's only when we miss out listening to our body, that it is forced to give us bigger & bigger signals. It happened with me in 2014. I was getting health issues one after the other & each was bigger than the previous one. But once I understood the body's self-healing powers & nourished myself with good food, air and thoughts, everything became ok. I always lived with a nagging headache issue, but now it has vanished. So where did I slow down? Two places - 1. foods - Eat easy to digest Natural Foods so that the body gets its deserved time of rest, else it is always busy in digestion. 2. thoughts - I worked on my stress levels, made a conscious effort to engage in joyous activities, used a few techniques like journalling, visualisations, affirmations. You must read the blog Understand body's natural healing mechanism, especially the videos mentioned at the end of the blog. It will help u understand how ur migraine is not 'sudden' but a result of your past actions. As far as meds are concerned, I think the answer lies in ur question itself :-). Address the root cause which I mentioned before. I used to take headache tablets quite frequently before, but then I solved the root cause!! If you would like to know more, pls msg me one on one through my profile.
Why do kids catch a cold on season change? How is this linked? My child has been running around with minimal woolens in peak winters. But just when it became rainy after the bright winter spell, he fell sick. Why does this happen?
PSYsolution by Kalyan
02:11 PM | 24-01-2019
Nobody catches cold! The occurrence of Flu, as I understand, that you are mentioning here, is due to TOXAEMIA*. When body gets enervated due to many reasons it starts accumulating TOXINS within the body. Naturally, the body triggers healing crises to clear the toxins accumulated within the body. FLU is an execution of HEALING CRISES* to clear the toxin. While maintaining the body temperature also eats up our vitality. SEASONAL CHANGE does affect on our vitality due its change. Our vitality starts accommodating with the change and sometimes gets enervated. Since the children havea lot of conserved vitality within their body triggers FLU, frequently to throw the toxins. It is a great action by the body, we should acknowledge it! On the other hand, we need to check the ENERVATION* or the overspend of VITALITY in our children to avoid such discomforting situations. THE CONSISTENT VITALITY CONSERVATION happens through these lifestyle choices, on a regular basis: RIGHT FOOD HABITS, BALANCED PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES INCLUDING QUALITY SLEEP and STRESS-FREE MENTAL ENVIRONMENT. You may also check our recent article on the above* terminologies, in case you are new to Nature Cure science. Thank you... You can follow us at facebook and/or at Wellcure

Do you eat three hours before bedtime? If you eat just before bedtime, body is busy digesting food and it may be uncomfotable to get into sleep mode. Are you on your electronic device before sleep? The blue light is known to interfere in sleep patterns. So try to be off your gardgets atleast an hour before you sleep. Sleep on time. Body likes regularity. Offload your worries by journaling before bedtime for a restful sleep. My grandmom applies some sesame oil to her feet and covers with socks before sleeping. Try it, it may help you Hope you feel well soon.
I am 37 years old and have started getting pain in my knees and heels since last 5-6 months. It does not affect me daily but hurts when I stand or walk for long. I am slightly obese (80kg @5"9 height) and I dont really exercise much with work being done mostly on laptop during the day. What could be the reasons for this problem and how can I cure it naturally?

The answer to your question is in your question, itself! Lack of physical activity is one of the main reasons of being enervated and lose out of CONSERVED VITALITY within the body. If we do not have enough CONSERVED VITALITY within the body, the body reduces the toxin expulsion from the body. When we have retained toxins within the body, it restricts the blood flow and the body tries to put pressure to overcome the restrictions in the blood flow and we experience the pain. The garbage, inside the body, needs to be thrown away. This can only happen NATURALLY, when we have enough CONSERVED VITALITY within the body. Hence, improve your lifestyle with the above. As per your question where you have admitted about the lack of physical activities, you need to improve there immediately! Thank you... Acid levels in uric acid test slightly high…what’s the solution?
Ankur Sharma
11:16 AM | 09-01-2019
You could try having a concoction of lemon juice diluted with equal amount of water. Have it every 3-4 hours. Basically with high uric acid your body is more acidic than alkaline, u have to restore the balance by upping the alkaline foods. Hope you don’t take dairy and wheat? These leave a high acidic residue in the body. Start your day with soaked raisins. - they are highly alkaline.
Hi when i am on a raw diet of fruits and vegetables. My stool comes out with difficulty. Is this constipation? And what is the remedy for same.. When i eat a diet made with cooked vegetables with rice or wheat i never face any difficulty. Why is it so?
Asha Shivaram
07:28 PM | 09-01-2019
I am not sure about the answer to the first question. It depends on how many days you started a raw diet and how many days you have been raw. Initially it will be difficult till your gut adjusts to the new food. For the second question, grains have hard to digest fibre which irritates the colon. It tries to throw out such food faster. Please observe that on the days you eat wheat and rice, elimination may be faster but you will feel sluggish and there will be a feeling of heaviness in the body

Hi moms, my daughter has been coughing from last 15-20 days in mornings and at night. The doc says it’s because of the allergies and not due to cold. I believe in natural home remedies and usually give her nutmeg and liquorice powder with honey and it helped her in past. Since this cough and congestion is not due to cold am not giving her these now. Can anyone recommend tried and tested remedies or safe medicines for chest congestion and cough. Thanks

Through cough and colds, esp nagging ones, the body is demanding a lot of rest. So, focus on her rest. Since she will be having disturbed sleep at night, make sure she is able to nap in afternoon in dark or call it an earlier night for next 15 days. Wind down, have aroma baths for her in evening. Keep her in dim lights in evening before you sleep. Because only in rest mode will the body repair. If she has a bad coughing spell at 3-4 am, keep her hydrated through soaked raisins. If you can afford keep her off school and allow her to rest do so.

Take a ripe banana, cut the ends. Put the whole banana with skin in a pan with two cups of water. Boil till the water reduces to one cup. Remove the banana, strain the water and drink before sleeping. Continue for 30 days, if sleep doesn't improve, please comment your experience.

Is it ok to have broccoli soup at night? Or will it make me gassy when I sleep?
Pramod Pathak
09:46 PM | 19-12-2018
If you have broccoli soup for seven days the trouble will vanish, it's toxin elimination which started due to broccoli which is causing these symptoms. We often attribute such beneficial changes to change of lifestyle and give up pre-maturely. Give all changes minimum 21 days for the body to make the natural change before making any conclusion.
