I have a lot of acidity and bloating issues for many years now.. I often take antacids for the same.. Give some tips to deal with this
Pramod Pathak
06:59 PM | 05-06-2019
Digestive Acids 1. Following four golden principles of drinking water is the key to all stomach issues and they are:- (a) Always drink water which is at body temperature, neither chill nor hot. (b) Always sit down before drinking water. (c) Always sip water like a bird, never gulp it down. (d) Drink water 40 minutes before meals and two hours after meals. No water during meals. 2. Always eat 50% of your meal as salad and raw vegetables. 3. Minimum five hours of gap between two meals. Ideal is to have only two meals a day. 4. Dinner two hours before you sleep, best is 7.30 PM. Taking antacids will worsen the problem in long run though momentarily they will provide relief.
Hi Friends! I am trying to make lifestyle changes bit by bit. Had a confusion regarding cookware. I have completely removed all aluminium cookware from my kitchen. But am not sure if anodized cookware (I am using Hawkins) is safe or not. Please suggest!
Anchal Kapur
07:56 PM | 11-01-2019
What I understand is that aluminium is bad because it leaches into the food kept / cooked in it. With anodized, it is said that very less aluminium leaches in only in small quantities. That's what the supporters / sellers of anodized cookware say. But when it comes to such things, I prefer to keep it simple. How do I know who's right & who's wrong? When it comes to stainless steel, there seem to be no conflicting views. No one says steel is bad. So I would recommend you switch to steel or earthen cookware for your kitchen. No plastic or aluminium or non stick etc.

Keep at least two hours gap between your food and your sleep timing at night. You can also choose to have vegetable juice in your breakfast, it is an easier way to absorb all the nutrients. Have fennel seeds after meals which will aid in digestion and prevent fissures. Take one tablespoon of coconut oil and add one tablespoon of naturally extracted aloe vera gel and apply on the rectal region at night. This will help in treating pain and fissure. Fill a tub with warm water and sit in it for 15-20 minutes, this will help in both relieving any cramps of the menstrual cycle and fissures. Exercise: Taking a brisk walk in the early morning sun rays helps in treating all the problems, as the sun helps in treating the mood and freshens us for the whole day, it stimulates our system and strengthens our immunity. The next thing you can do is have bottle guard and ginger juice as your breakfast meal which will provide enough energy for the day with sprouts and a fruit. Make sure you keep two hours gap between your meal and your sleep. Do not drink any liquid after 8 pm. Eat tomatoes with black pepper an hour before your meal it will improve digestion. Namaste, Consumption of pitta (fire) aggravating foods and foods of incompatible nature (virudh aahar) vitiates all the doshas, predominantly pitta dosha. Vitiated doshas produce heating toxins that are expelled upwards into the food pipe causing heartburn. Increased intake of tea or coffee, or oily, spicy, or fried foods aggravates pitta and leads to acidity. An aggressive nature and hyperactivity are also causal factors. Pitta is aggravated by late night work schedules, irregular eating patterns, and/or drinking alcoholic and carbonated beverages. Increased intake of painkillers and antibiotics also cause acidity and heartburn. Symptoms Chest pain Heartburn Pain while swallowing food Avoid tea, coffee, and carbonated or alcoholic beverages. Avoid processed and fermented foods. Avoid using garlic, ginger, onions, tomatoes, and vinegar in cooking. Also avoid rich gravies, sour, salty, and spicy foods. Curd should be strictly avoided. Take meals in a relaxed atmosphere at regular intervals. Practice Yoga and Pranayama such as Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Salabhasana, Bhastrika Pranayama, Shitali Pranayama and Shitkari Pranayama.

How to control itchy skin
Ashlekha Sharma
07:22 PM | 10-04-2024
Hi Minu, It is important to understand that a healthy skin mirrors a healthy body. Normally the liver, lungs and kidneys handle the job of filtering and elimination of body wastes. But when the system is congested with excess toxic load, the skin is called upon to handle waste elimination too. As the body throws out the wastes through the skin, we observe breakouts which are given different names like itchy skin, eczema, psoriasis, lupus, dermatitis, boils, acne etc., It also causes dull-looking skin with blotchy patches, warts, acne and boils to name a few. In reality, these are manifestations of eliminations happening through the skin due to excess toxic load in the body. Here are some diet & lifestyle guidlines: 1. Dairy, non-veg, processed foods, excess intake of grains, refined oils, sugar and salt tire the body as these foods are hard to digest and cause problems in the elimination of digestive waste. 2. Add nourishing foods like raw vegetables and fruits. 3. Adequate proper exercise every day ensures good blood circulation so nutrients and wastes are managed properly within the body. 4. Sleep and rest are very important to recharge your body and heal. The body is in repair and recovery mode during sleep. 5. Minimize the use of cosmetics and make your own cosmetics and toiletries at home with simple natural ingredients. 6. Sunlight strengthens and tones the skin. The action of sunlight is necessary for the synthesis of the many chemicals needed for proper functioning. 7. Give a break to your body by fasting for a couple of days in a week or 15 days. 8. Use a wet pack on your stomach and abdomen to improve digestion and elimination of toxins. My daughter has got hormonal imbalace
Ashlekha Sharma
06:10 PM | 10-04-2024
Hi Fatema Jawadwala, We do understand your concern about your daughter. Women-health related issues such as hormonal balance are linked to toxaemia. We would like to draw your attention to the Nature Cure perspective on the same. Nature Cure believes that the root cause of most diseases/health conditions is Toxaemia- the accumulation of toxins within the body. While some toxins are an output of metabolism, others are added due to unnatural lifestyle- wrong food habits, lack of rest and stress. Nature has equipped us with the measures of eliminating the toxins on a regular basis - through breathing, stool, urine, sweat, mucus depositions in nose, eyes and genitals etc. If elimination gets disturbed, the toxin accumulation in the body gets manifested as malfunctioning glands which results in disturbed hormonal balance. The body with its supreme intelligence, stores the toxins in the form of cysts, fibroids etc in the ovary resulting in PCOS/PCOD. Natural Ways To Balance Hormones: 1. Consume whole, plant-based diet that is full of natural nutrients such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds. 2. Cut off dairy and related products from diet as they promote hormonal imbalance in the body. 3. Use healthy nuts like almonds, walnuts, and seeds like chia, pumpkin and flax seeds as they ensures that the dietary requirements through healthy fats. 4. Make sunbathing as part of your morning ritual helps your body restore balance. 5. Get adequate and quality sleep. 6. Eliminate stress, as there is a direct link between stress and hormonal imbalance. 7. Make exercise a regular part of your daily routine. While you work on long term lifestyle changes, the following measures assist in restoring the internal balance. You can do these two to three times a day or whenever you get the time. Cold water hip bath. Cold water abdomen pack. Spinal bath. You can read about these in detail here. Your daughter can reverse this state of imbalance by getting back in sync with the natural laws of living. Our Natural Health Coach can look into her routine in a more comprehensive way and give you an action plan. Shifting to a natural lifestyle will also help you deal with all your other health issues. Let us know if you are interested, this coaching will be for a fee. You can explore our Natural Health Coaching Program for the same.
