VITALITY - the unique language
One of my favourite Indian movies is ‘Taare Zameen Par', released in 2007. The international version was titled as ‘Like Stars on Earth', directed by Aamir Khan, an actor turned director from India. This movie portrays a perennial problem of parents, not understanding the exact state of the child under the pressures of expectations and manmade ambitions. The protagonist of the movie is a 'dyslexic' child – Ishaan, who has (so-called) troubles in academics but developed a knack for innovative arts and paintings. Ishaan eventually proceeds to excel under the able guidance of a sensible teacher, Nikumbh. Nikumbh understood Ishaan's problem and helps him unshackle the enforced conventional regulations and explore the real creative sprees in him. In one scene, Nikumbh goes to explain the problem of the child to his parents. They initially were blaming the child for his ‘intentional mischievousness'. The father was terming th

NO TO TONA/ENEMA
Yes, humbly, I want to make it loud and clear: Unmindful and superstitious use of TONA/ENEMA has to be stopped to help the body to retain and maintain the real independent health. TONA is the smaller version of ENEMA, often recommended as remedies even by many Nature Cure practitioners to get rid of the problem of incidental-constipation, during the ACUTE conditions! Pure Nature Cure is not about remedies. We need to dive deeper into the Physics of VITALITY, to understand the dialectics of the incidental-constipation. The vitality is the energy with innate intelligence! Most of the rules of observatory-physics can be applied to explain the functioning of vitality. Energy is the capacity to work. Work is directly proportional to the force. Force is directly proportional to the pressure. According to Gay-Lussac's law about the relation between the pressure and temperature of gases, the pressure is directly proportional to the temperature. Tem

Is there a Science behind Spa Treatments?
In modern times, Spa has drawn much attention thanks to its claim of healing and soothing properties. However, is there any substantial information that proves this belief? Is there a science behind different spa treatments? Let us explore in this blog post. ‘SPA'encompasses a wide range of services and could comprise from a small treatment of facial to costlier one, name a massage. Word “Spa” is derived from two theories as believed to be derived from an acronym SPA which stands for Latin phrase, Sanitation Per Aqua. Other theory believed to be developed from the name of a Belgian town called Spa. The medieval world believed that illnesses were caused to be due to deficiency of iron and by drinking natural spring water cured this illness. The fountain was also referred to Spa in some articles. In the modern era, we believe Spa is a place for leisure. Most of us have never been inquisitive to know the science behind it. Moreover, the concept of Spa is always

LAW OF UNITY – A REVISIT (FOOD-WISE)
We need to compulsorily revisit the foundations of Nature Cure frequently to reinforce the dialectic understanding of Nature. In PSYsolution Alumni group, the discussions are prolifically continued on different aspects of understanding Nature. The human understanding is uniquely pursued by each one of us. Some can understand difficult aspect easily, on the other hand, the same person can take longer to understand an easy aspect. The beauty of the collective strive to explore Nature is - we mutually contribute towards each other's understanding, assimilation, execution and finally sharing to continue the chain of learning. Recently, there is a revisit needed on Law of Unity – one of the basic concepts of Nature Cure. The debate was on the statement – “Everything has got everything and we have the capability to extract anything out of anything”. “How can a bitter gourd and a potato be the same?” The functional analysis indeed showcase

Nature's Way of Exercise
Nature has laws that we as nature's children need to live by. There are certain rhythms like the circadian rhythm than man's internal body time clock is tuned into from time immemorial. The tribals live by the laws of the land, sun, sea and atmosphere. For them, its nature that determines when they wake up, work, eat, play and sleep. That was before artificial light and electricity came into being. No matter how much time you spend in artificial light, our body-mind craves the real sunlight. The sun element is important for natural exercise. We are like plants; we absorb the sun's rays and create vitamins and energy from it which sustains us. We breathe oxygen from plants and trees which they naturally eliminate. There is a natural demand for movement from our body which we term exercise as there is a natural symbiosis of rest and relaxation too. Keep the heat out - Naturally
Summer is the time for the skin and body to benefit from natural sunlight. With some very easy measures, a lot can be done to keep the sun out and reduce the extent of heat we receive from the outside, successfully. SHADES 1. Vetiver tatties (khus grass curtains) - serve as excellent shades from sunlight. These are very easy to tie or hook above the balconies and windows. After spraying water over them, it allows the air to cool as it enters through the gaps between them. 2. Bamboo curtains – are natural shades, which prevents sunlight and heat from entering inside the area where they are put up. 3. Thick cotton curtains inside the house also provide good shade. 4. Hanging wet towels over windows or near beds ensures a cool afternoon and night through. PLANTS Picture Credit: by sweetlouise via Pixabay 5. Managing Stress in Yogic Way
Stress is now considered to be a major risk factor for various cardiac and non-cardiac ailments. The victims are from all walks of life irrespective of their economic status, which most common in corporate sectors. With the fast pace of modern life, stress-related psychosomatic disorders ( certain disorders or ailments that are believed to be caused by stress factor which could affect our bodily systems with the active involvement of body and mind) such as heart attacks, peptic ulcers, arthritis, allergies, sexual problems, bowel disorders and so on are on rising in communities. In this article, I've tried to encapsulate a steady and credible solution to the chronic process of stress. It's been rightly said that nothing heals like nature! Similarly, ‘Yoga', which is the gift of nature and our Indian heritage, plays a pivotal role in managing one's stress most naturally. To apply it effectively to our daily life, let us try to understand this from the fundamenta

3 Simple Steps to a Plastic-Free Healthy, Wellness Kitchen
A quick peep into any regular kitchen, reminds us of the 90s hit song, “I'm a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world. Life in plastic, it's Fantastic.” Yes, our kitchens today resemble a plastic world, right out of Barbie's playhouse. From food storage containers to utensils and cutlery, food packaging to our trash bins – plastic has taken over every single nook and cranny of our kitchens. But, the sad truth here is that – A plastic world isn't fantastic but TOXIC. We're sure that you would be aware of the harmful environmental impacts of plastic that end up polluting our natural resources. But, what about the health impacts of plastic? Chemical additives used in plastic packaging leak into your food and end up in your body. Chemicals interfere with the body's functions and add to the toxic build up in the body. A toxic body is the single largest reason for all illnesses and diseases. Scientists are uncovering that BPA

Normal, Natural Birth
All mammals give birth to their young ones and start feeding them as soon as possible after birth. Human beings are evolved mammals, and human birth is the most miraculous, transformational and mysterious event of our lives. Women worldwide are seeking more natural and family centered ways to birth their children and experience motherhood without suffering and trauma that have been associated with labor and delivery. And because of this, they want optimal education and support. The education that best prepares a woman for a gentle birth is the one that empowers her by providing information and a belief in her ability to give birth naturally. Labor progress is facilitated when a woman feels safe, respected, and cared for by the experts who are responsible for her clinical safety, when she can remain active and upright and when her pain is adequately and safely managed. The opposite feelings of shame or embarrassment, of being observed, of feeling unsafe, being immobile, being treated

FOOD and VITALITY - again and again
In his autobiographical book, ‘The story of my experiments with TRUTH', Mr MK Gandhi shared his experience ofeating meat. He shares: “…I asked my friend the reason and he explained it thus: 'We areweak people because we do not eat meat. The English are able to rule over us because they are meat-eaters. You know how hardy I am, and how great a runner too. It is because I am a meat-eater. Meat-eaters do not have boils or tumours and even if they sometimes happen to have any, these heal quickly. Our teachers and other distinguished people who eat meat are no fools. They know its virtues. You should do likewise. There is nothing like trying. Try, and see what strength it gives….” Mr Gandhi continues… “…All this had its due effect on me. I was beaten. It began to grow on me that meat-eating was good, that it would make me strong and daring, and that, if the whole country took to meat-eating, the English could be overc

FOOD and VITALITY - the debate continues
A friend of mine brings a gift for me. An ashtray made out of white marble stone! Beautifully crafted! She is beaming with excitement while gifting it to me. I am a bit shocked than surprised! What should I do with it? I nor smoke neither allow any visitor to smoke in our house! She argues that I am not appreciating the gift as she expected me to do! I appreciate the craft! Indeed, it is a good work, embossed delicately. This could be a good showpiece but not an ashtray for me. She perhaps sensed the untold statement in my eyes - “The ashtray cannot be considered useful for me for its actual purpose!” She gets annoyed! I am helpless to help her… This article is in continuation with the dialectical understanding of food NOT giving energy or VITALITY. Well, the statement, many times, has been countered intelligently and repeatedly during my interactions with people. One of the recent interactions raised a very intelligent ques

Breast feeding v/s baby foods
Babies should be breast fed We of the school of basic nature - cure have always been recommending breastfeeding of babies, for this is how nature intends babies to be brought up. Of late, even the W.H.O. and the U.N.I.C.E.F. have started urging that babies be breastfed in the interest of improving the standard of health of society as a whole The Member states of W.H.O. are in a sense, committed to the policy of encouraging breastfeeding of babies by their mothers, for an as long time as possible. Mother's health matters At present, the unnatural ways of living adopted by many women during their pre and postnatal stages are responsible for the lowering of their health - level to an extent where breastfeeding by them becomes impossible beyond, at the most, a few weeks. In certain cases, infants have to be kept on bottle feeding straight from the day of the birth as their mothers are very poor in health. Contrast this with those who follow our advice and adopt in the

FOOD and VITALITY - the vital understanding
Recently, I came across this advertisement! It says “We make a dead person, alive”! I shall not even waste time ridiculing this advertisement. I shall come straight to the point of the foundation! What is the foundation of this thought process of claiming to make a dead person, alive? The seed is the misconceptions about the VITALITY! Unless we understand the aspect of vitality well, we would suffer from a lot of superstitions related to our health and happiness altogether. Wherever we see a life, we experience the existence of VITALITY. Seeing the life around us might trigger the assumptions of vitality-enhancement as - lives usually look similar. But technically, the vitality cannot be interchangeable due to the non-compatible uniqueness. The vitality of the individual is unique to that individual only. If the vitality would have been increased through external enhancements, mankind would have averted death by now! Averting death is det

ENERVATING EYES AND WEAK-LINKS
This article is an important one to understand the organism'sunique (and different) reactions to similar stimuli. I have received this question, lately: “I have been using computers for 10 years now! I use it almost 12-15 hours a day, even in a dark room. My eyes are best in its health. No vision loss! Your explanation of listening to the voice of the organism does not seem to apply for me! Can you explain, please?” The originality of the Voice of the Organism Before going to the explanation, let me remind the correlation of the voice of the organism. For an analysis of the voice of the organism, we need to understand the thumb-rule of ‘GOOD FEELING' Vs ‘BAD FEELING'. We need to reach to the SOURCE of the feeling, first. The source is the STIMULUS, if the stimulus is a natural one then the response is absolutely natural. The decision would be very easy, in this case. We can opt to carry on with the ‘good feelin

LUCKY CHARM SYNDROME - THE LAB REPORTS SYNDROME!
“This pen is very lucky for me. I score well every time I use this pen for any exam! And see, I did well this time too!” Yes, I am talking about the irrationality of the thoughts which may have proven to be POSITIVE for you. HOW CAN A PEN BE ATTRIBUTED FOR GOOD RESULT? These thoughts sow the seed of irrationality in mind, in anyway, even if there is a short-term positive correlation, in experience, prevails… If it is an irrational acceptance in mind, it can not be a positive phenomenon for you. Beware of that, please! In PSYsolution's course on Nature & Life (level-1), one of the popular topics in scientific Superstitions addresses the myths of curing the deficiencies and fallacies of Deficiency Theory. Acceptance of Deficiency Theory in our mind is that kind of seed of irrationality is sowed through different conditioning. Deficiency theory proposes that many of our health problems are CAUSED due to t

Naturopathy 101, for the middle class and more!
Definition of health Health does not merely refer to physical fitness. The WHO in 1948, gave a worldly acceptable definition of Health which goes by, 'Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely absence of disease or infirmity ‘. Which means a person has to be mentally, emotionally and physically be considered ‘healthy'. This might not be truly applicable to the present world - A world divided by class, caste and creed. The middle-class population Let us most importantly focus on the elephant in the room,' The Middle-Class population of India'.Yes, the middle class, that amounts to around 267 million of the population of India. According to the NHA survey, an average Indian spends about 42% of his OOP (Out of Pocket expenditure ) on health care, which equals to an average of ₹5,00,000 in a yearly saving of ₹12,00,000, according to budget expenditure reports. Let us say an average middle-cla

Home composting
Every city is fighting with rising garbage levels. Many city corporations are struggling keeping up with the enormous amounts of waste generated. In many cities, kitchen waste, dry waste and toxic waste get mixed up and dumped in landfills which are toxic and destroy the health of the environment and people. So, how can citizens help to alleviate the problem? Garden city to garbage city? One of the battles we fight here in Bangalore is garbage. The city once known as Garden City is now called Garbage city because of the amount of garbage that piles up every day on the street corners. There are multiple reasons for this. The situation is similar in many other cities and towns across India and pretty much exists in most developing countries. Although the developed world looks cleaner and you don't spot garbage on the roadside, it does not necessarily mean that they have disposed it responsibly. What can we do? The most common, sensible thing to do with garbage is to
