Hello Saba, As far as the cooking oil is considered, it is best to use the cold pressed oil for cooking. All your health issues are inter-related. PCOD is the reason for irregular periods and weight gain as it results in hormonal imbalances. Hair problems and skin issues occur as a result of this hormonal imbalances. Hence, it is necessary to treat the root cause for achieving overall good health. By making some changes in lifestyle and eating habits, both the problems can be cured naturally. Foods to eat Start the day with a glass of warm water with a few drops of lemon juice in it. This drink will boost the metabolism in the morning and also will help to flush out the toxins out of the body. Have flax seeds. Drink green tea twice a day, once in the morning on an empty stomach and the other before sleeping in the night. Cook oil-free or use cold-pressed oil. Replace white rice with brown rice. Eat the only plant-based natural raw foods. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Choose seasonal fruits and vegetables to eat. Eat sprouts, nuts, salads, beans to fulfil the nutritional requirements of the body. Foods to avoid- Avoid dairy products like ghee, milk, paneer, curd, etc. Avoid animal foods. Avoid carbonated drinks. Avoid processed foods, packaged foods, oily foods, and spicy foods. Avoid tea and coffee. Exercise Exercising is very important to improve the metabolism of the body which becomes very slow in thyroid patients. Do 12 sets of suryanamaskar daily. Do bhujanga asana, chakra asana, paschimottan asana daily. Do kapalbhati pranayam daily. Practice ujjayi Pranayam and bhramri pranayam. They are very effective for thyroid. Sleep Proper sleep is very important to maintain the circadian rhythm which affects the hormonal balance. Hence, take proper sleep of at least 7-8hours daily. Sleep early at night at around 10 pm and also wake up early in the morning at around 6 am. Thank you.
According to Doctor's ,we should not use regular one oil for eating? So I want to know what is the timing period for change the oil. We regular use sarso oil for cooking the food. It is good or not? If we talk about last 20 years then 70% people was regular used one oil. What is your advice about it?

None of the oils available for cooking are designed for human consumption. None of them are created by Nature. They are originally available in a seed and body recognises and can digest a seed. Anything that is consumed for taste and not for health will always be detrimental to your gut in the long run. An unhealthy and toxicgut is a welcome sign for all the pathogens to infect the body with various diseases. Oil is one of the major reasons to clog various organs in the body. Kindly apply discretion and just don’t use something because your doctor says so. It’s quite possible that he does not know the right way to live too. Have you not heard of doctors falling prey to diseases ? They are humans too and they make mistakes and they need to be educated with natural living too. Google oilfree Indian cooking and you will find plenty of sources. We have plenty of recipes on wellcure too. Be blessed

Oats are supposed to be healthy, are they acidic or alkaline and what impact it has on my body?
PSYsolution by Kalyan
11:19 AM | 21-01-2019
Oats are semi-concentrated foods and require substatial amount of VITALITY in its digestion/assimilation process. We need semi-concentrated food very less (approx. 10% of the total food consumption, consumable weight-wise). Oats and other semi-concentrated food needs application of heat/water to steam/boil to facilitate the consumption. We should not try to enhance the taste to lure the consumption. Please read the following note on pH scales. In brief, let us understand what is a pH scale: Science has introduced a logarithmic scale to specify the acidity or basicity/alkalinity of an aqueous solution. Acidity and Basicity/Alkalinity are two opposite properties of an aqueous solution. Like everything else, in Nature, aqueous solutions too try to achieve a homeostatic state or the state neutrality. The neutral state of a solution is pure Water. In pH scale the value of water as defined is 7. Below 7, all the solutions are acidic and above 7, are basic/alkaline. Acid and Alkaline always try to neutralize each other to become water. The pH value of blood is approx 7.4. That means it is almost neutral being slightly basic/alkaline. In diseased condition the pH value becomes more than 7, usually. With this understanding we confuse ourselves by concluding that we need to make our blood alkaline to have better state of wellness! It is another superstition! If we make our blood highly alkaline that is also a health hazard! Change in pH value or its Alkalinity or acidity in blood is an EFFECT of health. The CAUSE is somewhere else! Addressing the EFFECTSinstead of addressing the CAUSE, is a limited and shallow approach. We cannot carry a pH strip with us to measure the pH value of food that we choose to eat! Nature has sketched an excellent indicator to identify the right food. THE VOICE OF THE ORGANISM (V/O) is that indicator. The taste sensation is one of the major executions of V/O. Other important V/O in identifying the right food are smell, sight etc. The first condition is the food should be in its natural state without any modification; then we need to use our V/O to identify if it is beneficial for us. We should feel good about the food in terms of its smell, sight and taste. If it feels good, it is good for us. Simple! We can skip bothering about pH values. Thank you... Nikita Mishra
10:39 AM | 14-10-2020
Hello, When it comes to cooking, it can be done with oil or without oil. Oil free cooking is beneficial in certain health conditions like obesity, diabetes, etc. Many healthy recipes are available on wellcure for oil free cooking. But, if you want to use oil for cooking then you may use cold pressed oil for cooking. Never use refined oils for cooking as they are not good for the health at all and may result in various health problems. Thank you
How and why to adopt Jaggery instead of Sugar for Healthy lifestyle?
Prof Dr Srikrishan Sha...
01:08 PM | 09-09-2019
Jaggery (or gur) is made from unrefined sugar, and is obtained by boiling raw, concentrated sugar cane juice till it solidifies. Although jaggery is also made from the sap of coconut and date palm, the one made from sugar cane is the one that's used most widely. Not only is gur better than white sugar--which only adds empty, digestible, natural calories to your body--it also has a number of health benefits, including its ability to cleanse the body, aid in digestion and provide good amounts of minerals. Here are some health benefits that will make you want to adopt jaggery as your go-to sweetener for everyday purposes: Gur prevents constipation by aiding digestion. It activates the digestive enzymes in our body, thus helps in proper digestion of food. That's why many people prefer eating jaggery after a meal. Gur acts as a detox, as it helps cleanse the liver by flushing out nasty toxins from the body. Jaggery is loaded with antioxidants and minerals like zinc and selenium, which help prevent free-radicals (responsible for early ageing). It helps boost resistance against infections, hence building stronger immunity. Eating a piece of jaggery daily can help women combat PMS symptoms including mood swings, menstrual cramps and abdominal pain. Jaggery acts as a natural sweetener and provides energy over an extended period of time. Even factory-made honey has been deemed unhealthy because it gets ripped of its nutrients. That's when jaggery steps in! Gur is, however, suggested to consume jaggery in moderation, as it is slightly higher in calories, containing up-to 4 kcal/gram. People who are diabetic or are following a weight loss diet should monitor their consumption of jaggery, as it can lead to weight gain and fluctuations in blood-sugar levels. Molasses a bio-product of Jaggery is now being considered most effective tool for detoxing the body and creating carbon free body. It contains Natural Insulin which is wonderful remedy for liver and kidney cleansing.
What are the benefits of cooking in Brass utensils?
Anjali Rauthan
09:23 PM | 18-04-2024
Namaste Ashtok, Thank you for sharing your query with us, Brass is called ‘pital’ which is made up of 70 per cent copper and 30 per cent zinc. Brass is non-magnetic, heat-conducting and long-lasting. The benefit of cooking with brass utensils is that only 7% of the nutrients are lost throughout the cooking process. Since brass utensils are a combination of zinc and copper, these contain the benefits of both these metals. Brass utensils are used for cooking non-acidic foods such as rice and dal. But, We suggest using: 1. Food-grade stainless steel, without nickel, is a safer option than regular stainless steel utensils that contain nickel. When scratched hard while cleansing, nickel can get exposed and later leak into the food. 2. Cast-iron - The non-coated and real cast iron cookware does not leak anything toxic into your food and is ideal for non-stick cooking when seasoned well. It is good to include some extra iron in your meals as well. To know more about utensils, you can read these blogs: Is your cookware toxic?, Essential Kitchen tools for healthy eating Wishing you a good health

Nuts which are healthy and generally recommended are acidic or alkaline?
PSYsolution by Kalyan

Nuts are concentrated foods and require a lot of VITALITY in its digestion/assimilation process. We need nuts very less (5% of the total food consumption, consumable weight-wise). Ideally, nuts should be consumed after soaking in water for few hours to make it softer and reduce the vitality-consumption. Please refer the following note on pH scale. In brief, let us understand what is a ph of nuts: Science has introduced a logarithmic scale to specify the acidity or basicity/alkalinity of an aqueous solution. Hello, I have been eating healthy and working out for past 6-7 months. I started this as I was facing Menstrual irregularities. Now, after adapting healthy lifestyle my menstruation has become regular. But my period cycle length keeps getting longer every month initially it was 30, then 35, then 40 in the current month. I am not able to identify the cause. Please help. If anyone has any idea regarding this. I am 22 yrs old. Also, my skin has become very dull despite eating healthy.
Nikita Mishra

Hello User, Anaemia can be the reason for the late periods. Eating correctly is important but along with that, it is also important that the food gets absorbed properly in the intestine to get the essential nutrients present in the food. Also, the hormonal imbalance leads to irregularities in the menstrual cycle. It affects the overall health and your skin is dull because the internal body is not healthy. A correct lifestyle, eating habits and along with this, some exercise or yoga is also necessary for achieving good health. Diet to follow: Eat only plant-based natural foods. Drink freshly prepared fruit juices. Drink coconut milk. Include salads, nuts and sprouts in your diet. Have fresh fruits like banana, pomegranate, citrus fruits. Have fresh green leafy vegetables. Have whole grains like barley, millets, oats. Replace white rice with brown rice. Use cold-pressed oil for cooking. Foods to avoid: Avoid street foods, deep-fried oily foods and spicy foods. Avoid processed foods and packaged foods. Avoid dairy products and animal foods as they are not suitable for the human digestive system and creates health issues. Avoid tea and coffee. Avoid carbonated drinks. Avoid sugars, refined grains and refined oil. Yoga: Exercising or yoga is very important. Yoga helps in treating menstrual cramps to a great extent as it improves the blood circulation in the whole body and also cures the hormonal imbalance. Do 12 sets of suryanamaskar daily. Do padahasta asana, trikona asana, chakra asana, gomukha asana. Start your morning with a short morning walk of 20 minutes. Do deep breathing exercises like anulom-vilom pranayam. Sleep: Correct sleeping pattern is very important for maintaining circadian rhythm and hormonal balance. Sleep and wake up at a fixed time. Sleep early at night at around 10 pm and also wake up early in the morning. Avoid using electronic gadgets 1 hour before sleeping. Thank you.
My age is 71 , what can I eat at what time in which form to gain Healthy Fat? Pl guide
Smitha Hemadri

Sir, you can start by eating healthy, juicing a lot. Once your digestion and assimilation becomes efficient, your body will start gaining weight automatically. When the initial needs of efficient absorption is to clean, then you obviously won’t have excess. A clean body gives an productive output Losing or gaining healthy weight happens when your body and mainly your gut is in a good shape to absorb nutrients or shed the excess. The solution is the same for both the cases. Whatever is the imbalance the body decides and fixes it. High raw whole food plant based meal is your solution. Good sleep , exposure to sun, exercises that help you gain healthy muscles. Fats don’t come because you have nuts or avocado or coconut. Unless your body is ready to act on the food you eat, no food will help. The more the body gets digestive rest from cooked and other wrong foods, it will heal u off the your problems and then build you muscles after u work towards it with weights. You cannot eat fats and gain “healthy” weight . You will gain unhealthy weight Start drinking only fruit and veg cold pressed juices for 10 days. Nothing else. 3-4 lts a day After 10 days eat just stomach full of fruits and greens and occasional vegetables for rest of the month and nothing else. Workout in the gym for sometime if you can manage it on small weights / do yoga daily with regular breathIng. You will lose the toxins that have clogged the body and start gaining. To continue a healthy diet and not lose back after that, the following is a lifestyle you can follow this. Follow this :- Morning on empty stomach Celery juice 500 ml filtered / ash gourd juice / cucumber juice/ Green juice with any watery vegetable like ashgourd / cucumber / ridge gourd / bottle gourd / carrot / beet with ginger and lime filtered/ tender coconut water or more pure veggie juice Afternoon from 12 :- A bowl of fruits - don’t mix melons and other fruits. Eat melons alone. Eat citrus alone Followed by a bowl of veg salad Dinner 2-3 hrs before sleep with Gluten free, oilfree unpolished grains or dals 30% and 70% veggies Include some exercises that involves moving all your parts ( neck , shoulder, elbows, wrist , hip bending twisting , squats, knees, ankles ) along with workout. Focus on weight training See if u can go to the morning sun for sometime in a day 30 mins atleast. Ensure that you are asleep between 10-2 which is when the body needs deep sleep. What to Avoid :- Avoid refined oils, fried food , packaged ready to eat foods, dairy in any form including ghee, refined salt and sugar , gluten , refined oils meat eggs fish coffee tea alcohol , oils in any form Avoid mental stress by not thinking about things you cannot control. Present is inevitable. Future can be planned. Stay happy. Happiness is only inside yourself . The world around you is a better place if you learn to stay happy inside yourself. Reach us if you need more help in this area. Emotional stress can cascade the effects. Thank your body and love it Be blessed. Smitha Hemadri (educator of natural healing practices)

Can we add turmeric powder while cooking?
Smitha Hemadri
08:30 PM | 20-02-2020
Turmeric is a herb. It is anti-inflammatory. Humans started to consume it when the approach became more medicinal in nature to fix eliminations like cold, cough, applying on wounds etc. Habit of using it in the cooking was to ensure that all the family members can consume it. However, when you start looking at natural ways of living, we focus on giving more power to the body to self-heal, not stop the eliminations with a suppressor, easing the digestion during that time and not stopping an inflammation forcibly. In this approach, the reason why our ancestors used turmeric does not really matter. Do you taste turmeric in your cooking? No isn't it? So, unless you know how turmeric plays a role in visually enhancing the dish or enhancing the taste of the dish, you don't have to consume it. If you have grown fresh turmeric, there is no harm in using some for your raw juices or using it in a herbal drink as a replacer for your coffee tea. To summarize the answer, No, it's not necessary to consume turmeric on a daily basis. Correcting the habits will improve your lifestyle and remove the need for suppressors. Be blessed Smitha Hemadri(Holistic lifestyle coach)

I दौड़ लगाएँ। (Nature Cure Guide & Educator)

Why substitute one bad thing for another. All packaged oils are circumspect. Use nuts and seeds for taste addition. So also herbs and fresh produce bring the real taste. I would advise not to waste time and money on any of these oils. Oil is a highly concentrated product no found in nature. Use sparingly for special occasions if it is a must.
