Hello Omkar, Infection with a cold or flu virus is among the most common causes of chest congestion and happens when the infection progresses from the upper respiratory tract, your nasal passages, sinuses throat into the lower respiratory tract, your bronchi and lungs. What can be done? Add rock salt to mustard oil and warm it. Apply this warm mixture on your chest and cover the chest. This will remove the chest congestion. Add turmeric in your foods. It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Drink herbal tea twice a day with tulsi. Drink warm water during the day every time you feel thirsty. Drink a glass of warm water with few drops of lemon in it. This has antioxidant properties and will aid in recovery. Take proper rest and don't do excessive work as this will cause exertion and will increase the problems. Take adequate sleep of atleast 7-8hours daily. Thank you
